Attack: 64 and almost an auto-glance at most vs 43, hits, but he is attempting to parry... He assumes Falcon Guard stance, gives up 4 of his attack dice to try and parry her.
Parry DC: 30
Leona's Reflexes check: 14 +21 + 5 = 40, succeeds and hits.
Damage: 8 + 37 + 9 = 56, -8 from natAV, -18 from his armor, 30 damage by the end

The orc held his position ready as Leona closed in, waiting and seemingly intent on taking the hit and responding... Only to try to catch her sword on the guard of his mace. The sturdy man almost managed to catch and halt the blow, but Leona managed to push through his block and land a strike, though his armor actually absorbed much of the blow. As their weapons were locked together, he grunted in pain and effort before growling; "Mmmhhh... Perhaps there's... Someone worth fighting here today... After all..." With that, he threw her back and resumed his readied position, raising his mace high.

Leona smirks as her opponent endures the blow and is momentarily put on the defensive. "Good. On that, we can agree!" She shouts, roaring as a golden aura envelopes her and her strength becomes magnified. While it takes her focus for the moment, she's preparing herself to smash right through the defenses of her enemy!

(Leona activates Battle Aura spending 5 energy.)

Leona activates Battle Aura for 5 EP, I believe meaning X = 6.

Orc engages RAGE and attacks with Supreme Might for -20 to hit but a big damage boost.
Attack: 86 vs 41, not even close to missing.
Damage: 75 - 36 = 39 damage, literally one off proccing the Guillotine passive.
Armor Damage: 9

The orc followed suit as Leona backed up to activate her aura, but not with anything overtly magical. His movements became wild and more rapid, and he surged forward with a growl; "Power... I'll defeat it... ALL WITH MY OWN STRENGTH!" His return strike hammered into Leona's exposed lower torso, knocking her from her feet and sending her skidding back a ways, her armor cracked and the wind knocked from her lungs.

Leona wheeze as moment as the hammer impacted her. This fucker was tough, but him going into a rage like that might've left him open for a reprisal. She winds up, gritting her teeth as she swings Lionshead with all her might.

"You think that stupid armor will keep you safe? THINK AGAIN!" She bellows, swinging her blade down.

Attack: 91, I don't need to check his hyper penalized dodge.
Damage: 69 (heh) - 36 = 33 damage.
He attacks back!
Attack: 63 vs 61, barely hits.
Damage: 69 (heheheh) - 36 = 33 damage... Oddly symmetrical.

Throwing all efforts of defense aside, Leona's opponent hurled his full might into a return blow as the glowing lioness brought her enchanted sword down at him. The two strikes landed almost simultaneously, sending both skidding away from each other, badly bloodied but neither falling just yet.

Leona huffed as she forced herself to stay standing, feeling the weight in her limbs growing. But she wasn't about to lose after finally getting a real fight! Roaring out once more, she charged forward to close the distance, trying to finish off her opponent before he could do the same to her!

"DOWN WITH YOU!"

"YOU FIRST!" The orc warrior roared back, surging back towards Leona with seemingly relentless vigor, his mace aiming for an upwards swing that'd send her flying.... But Leona, thanks to her aura, was just a tiny bit faster. Her sword swung down, powered by strength of arm and strength of soul, and hammered into her opponent's shoulder. His legs nearly buckled under the blow, but impossibly he stood, continuing his swing... But, when the man's mace collided with Leona's armor, it had no strength behind it. Her opponent was already falling as his strike landed, just a bit too slow to have mattered. The orc slumped to the ground at Leona's feet with an audible thud, defeated, and unlike her last bout some of the crowd seemed to have noticed the heated exchange.

A handful of cheers erupted, accompanied by clapping. Not exactly a standing ovation from a packed stadium, but those who had actual been paying attention were clearly exhilarated by the bout.

For a moment, Leona was shocked the orc managed to stay standing, but as the hammer tapped against her and he slumped back and fell, she sighed and her aura faded. With a roar of victory, she raises her blade up in triumph. She then looks to the battered orc at her feet, then offers him a hand. "I'm not here for any of that victor's right shit... but you gave me a good fight, so you deserve some respect." She says, looking to help him to his feet. Whether he accepted or not, she'd return to the waiting room to recover. They did mention repairing her gear before, but she wasn't sure where to go for that since the first fight was so anticlimactic.

Though her chivalrous effort and respect towards her fallen opponent might have normally been appreciated, the orc warrior was unfortunately very much unconscious when Leona reached down towards him. It would take more than a shake to get him awake, and as she let her aura ease away, Leona would quickly realize that the more energetic bout had enjoyed a far more powerful reaction from the crowd. It wasn't just Smidgen cheering now; a fair few people had woken up and started paying attention at the sight of a real battle, if a fairly short one given the heavy weapons favored by both combatants.

After a moment, a pale blue woman in a nurse's uniform came strolling up, a stretcher levitating at her side. "Don't worry too much 'bout him~ He'll wake up in a couple hours!" They replied, levitating the unconscious orc onto the stretcher, then his mace - which hovered beside - and started sauntering away. Leona herself could work the crowd if she wished, but with her opponent down it was time to return to the waiting room and take at least a few minutes to recover. Her new goblin buddy met up with Leona on the way through the arena corridor, slapping Leona on the ass - it was the closest slapable part that she could reach - and saying; "Great fightin! Din't expect many actual fights worth havin' here! Bet that caught some eyes on ya!"

Leona would be able to return to the rest area otherwise unmolested, and would be treated to an excited play-by-play repetition of her own match, with some embellishment, courtesy of Smidgen. It wasn't too long before it wasn't Leona being called to a bout, however, but Smidgen. "Oi! Das me! Is my turn!" the goblin warrior declared excitedly, readying her light shield by strapping it to her arm. "I'm's gonna go kick some butt!" She gave Leona a salute before drawing her club, giving Leona a moment to offer any parting words before scurrying off towards the arena. The question for Leona, then, was whether or not she wanted to take the extra bit of rest - which might help her recuperate for her next fight - or go and watch her little companion's bout...

Leona simply shrugged as the orc was carried off like that. At the very least, she was starting to get some proper recognition. As Smidgen gave her rather direct show of approval, Leona blushed and went stiff, but tried to shake it off. "Y-yeah, well people had better start paying some damned attention!" She replied. As she began recovering in the waiting area and saw Smidgen head off towards her own battle, she decided to follow along to watch. It was only fair given the fact she'd been watching her fights so closely.

"Remember: strike hard, strike fast, and don't give them an inch." She advised her companion before finding a good spot to watch the battle.
