Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

I'm glad you like it. It can be disconcerting sometimes. I haven't had guests.... or been active... for a long time. Honestly most fey think we don't exist anymore it's such a shame. It used to be different, before summer and winter and spring and fall. We were divided only between day and night. she said, taking another sip of her wine.

As Christine drank it, she found it was tart and bright, cheerful wine for happy occasions and good days. Her food was likewise delicious and Lillith certainly didn't grudge her eating.

Honestly, I wake up and find the world in shambles. I've never had so much influence since the first cataclysm. It's like stretching my legs. And... These little fires start popping up everywhere and an Arctic Kitsune, VERY far from her homeland bumps into one of my shadows. Lets me see through her eyes just a little. she said, revealing fully that Christine's earlier contact with one of the drifting sheets was to blame for the tailored dress.

Where are my Manners! I am Lillith. Queen of the Night Fey and Unseelie courts of Old. she said, smiling.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

"It is an honour to meet you, your majesty. Though I am still not quite certain why you sought me out." Christine says slowly, carefully evaluating her word choices before speaking.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

I'm a Queen, And believe it or not, Kitsune belong to the Night Court, not the Day. I didn't really need a reason if I'm completely honest. But rest assured I do have one. Curiosity for starters, you're not normal, not by a long shot, the magic is all twisted up in knots around you. Another is loneliness if I'm completely honest. This palace is empty now, save my shadows, Salazar, and two others. I wanted to meet the new Fox from another world. You wouldn't Believe the magical stink that Anklet gave off. Like someone had tagged you to keep track. she said, leaning back into her chair with a sigh.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

"Oh, I find that quite easy to believe, your majesty. As for the anklet... What can I say, I had to deal with a pair of demons and I'm not at all certain I got the better of the deal." Christine replies with a faint smile as she continues eating slowly.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Sweetheart, if you're still alive, and with your soul intact after meeting a Demon, then yes. You got the better end of the deal. Lillith answered smoothly. I'd like to ask you to stay here for 7 days. If you wouldn't mind overly much. The normal courts are all panicking as "The Dread Shadows!!!" return she said, waggling her fingers and making her best Doom and Gloom Spoooooky voice as she said it.

Even the old nightkin like the Kitsunes are unusually afraid while I try to figure out a way to rebuild the races we've lost. And the Church constantly being an influence is certainly not helping. After the 7 days, Head up north as you planned and deliver a message for me. That's all. she said, resting her chin on her palm as she regarded Christine.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

"I'll be glad to be of service, my queen. It isn't as though I'm in a hurry." Christine says. It wasn't as if she hadn't dreamed of living in a palace before, however eerie this one was.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Lillith nods and smiles. Good. That will make things easier. Umm.... I have no control over the more mindless things in here. So... fair warning. I got bored and removed the control restraints on the palace. So, if you head below floor 6, it's all free for all. Other then that, wander and do as you like. I'll have Salazar let you know if I need anything specific. she said, just tucking into her meal now happily

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

"Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." Christine says, grinning between bites.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

The meal is eaten in relative silence after that unless Christine had something she wanted to say or ask. After a few minutes, a small black orb like the one that held her hated fairy frenemy inside appeared, and opened, spewing forth an earlier image offffff Christine, getting a fingering from Ashlie to which she swallowed and pointed at her tail.

Ok, Now I saw her just appear after you went into the woods. How did that come about? Because squirrel people died out over a thousand years ago. Not the sharpest tools. she said, leaning back and observing the pair of woman moaning on her little magical video.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Christine blushes as she sees a magical recording of her first taste of Ashlie. It was one thing to be watched, quite another to be recorded... "Oh, uh... I came across one of those flames earlier and started to think about what would happen if I touched it. So in the name of experimenting, I threw a squirrel into it. She popped out."

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Really!? That's incredible! Lillith said, waving the recording away. Those giant flames wont even cross into my territory! And you're saying a squirrel person, this Ashlie who came with you, came out when you chucked a squirrel into it? Tell me more! please! she said, leaning forward and clearly excited.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Christine's ears twitch slightly. "I'm afraid there isn't much more to tell. But apparently she remembers being a human - in another world, unless I miss my guess entirely - and dying of some sort of plague. I think she may have been in some kind of... hell, or maybe purgatory, after that, but obviously she'd rather not elaborate much more on that."

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

A lost soul, and a new body, with a living thing as a catalyst. That is some interesting power floating around the world now... Lillith mused, before she stood and stretched. Thank you again for coming out. But I need to check on something because of the information. You can wander freely as you wish. You're not a prisoner but I must ask, because you agreed, not to leave the castle grounds for the next 7 days. she said, looking apologetic, but the request obviously had a purpose and it was linked to Christine's more unique bloodline.

if you need anything at all. Anything, Ask Summon Salazar. Just say his name anywhere and he'll know. Ahh, speak of the devil. she said, the Dark Elf sliding through the door as she had indeed spoken his name. Did you need me My Lady. he asked, Lillith smiling at him and gesturing to Christine. She's agreed to be my guest for the week. Anything she needs, or wants. Please see to it. Christine, if you want to speak to Me directly just let him know, he'll see you to wherever I am. Anytime. she said, before turning on her heel and heading for the door. I'm happy to see her in high spirits. She was quite distraught when she awoke to find the state of the Wildeheart. being forgotten.... it wounds an immortal. he said, watching her leave.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

"I won't." Christine promises simply, before watching the queen - her queen, she supposes - leave. Realizing that she has finished eating, Christine stands up as well, offering her arm to Salazar. "It was nice talking with her. Can you tell me more about the palace, Salazar?"

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Salazar took her arm with a smile and started walking. So much. It was erected 12,000 years ago give or take a century. It is built from the runoff of a once active volcano at the same time the Sun palace was built in the east, on the other side of the middle-lands. he said, sighing happily and losing himself in the memory. My life is assured for I am bound to the Queen lady Lillith and I have been around for the entirety of her reign. You see, the Unseelie Court, Now the Shadow Fey held the wild powers of the night under their wings, and provided proper balance against the influence of the day. The Palace was built as a catalyst for a spell to ensure some area never new the touch of sunlight. Many of those born to the shadows at the time could not abide the touch of daylight and this gave them a haven. You see, for every 100 fey of the sun, only 1 of the night was born. but in balance a hundred lifetimes of the day would pass before one of our own would pass into the next life. he said, enjoying reliving this moment with Christine.

Under the control of Night, is not universally death as so many thought. Life flourishes in the night. And it needs nourishing and protecting like so many other things. But the light faded as the mirror world away from the Wildeheart grew, and so Night and Day faded and the two courts became fractured into what they are now. This palace is the focal point of all the original magic of the Night, and it is here that it spreads into the Wildeheart. The shadows and shades that move about are simply moving on territory that originally belonged to the Queen, and as the Cycle moves back into it's old ways, that territory is being reclaimed... But Lillith is worried. The courts are not... accepting of this. Because their last bastion is in the frozen north, which is the Queen's territory also, as the nights there are so long. They fear that a return of the day and night courts will destroy what they have built, so Lillith was overjoyed when she found you. She feared the Kitsune had all become extinct, and believe it or not, no matter what anyone else says, we know the truth, that the white foxes and wolves ruled the north. It is theirs by right, and there you were. A winter Fox far from home. Whether the soul is of this world or not, yes we know you are like Ashlie in a way. And Lillith took it as a sign that perhaps, maybe, just maybe you may be planning on heading home to the north. And if that was true that the Winter Spirits of the Night were becoming reborn. She is hoping to devote her power to that end. To bring things back to the way they were when the fey were at the height of their power. Not to bring war on the humans, but to rebalance the world again. the Church... is a problem. Because it's a trinity to this duality that we're not sure how to deal with. But it's bigger then all of us, this problem, and Lillith wants to find the middle road. That's the night's true purpose. He said, seeming to get lost in his thoughts for a long moment, and his hopes.

Below are the lower 6 levels, which are considered the common nights, house those servants of the night that are.... less intelligent. manifest forms of certain aspects. Things that are being reborn, coalescing out of the shadows so it is unhealthy they are controlled too tightly. And Lillith has an odd sense of fun. Above that are what are called the Symphonies. Each floor is dedicated to a night song. Or a spell that was cast long ago that maintains certain functions. The floor which you reside is in the Song of the Moons. All the little ways that the moonlight reflects in the water and on the trees and leaves. There's a science to it all certainly. But there's a magic there also, and that spell gives it purpose. He explained, slowly winding her around the floor they were on, floor 7. They are, in order from this floor, to the roof, the Songs of Twilight, Shadow, Death, Moons, Stars, Blood, Bone, Grace, Subtelty, and finally on the roof, The Song of Reverie. he said, pausing to let her think.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

"And so it is because of the church all the fey are driven to north. It sounds like the dayborn merely don't want to be driven from their homes again." Christine thinks out loud. "You've already given me a lot to think about. Would you be willing to teach me magic? I'm afraid I know precious little, beyond what comes to me naturally."

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

That's the part they truly don't understand. Is that we don't want to drive them out. We need our territory to help resettle theirs. But they don't see it that way. So conflict is.... likely. And Magic? Well.... Perhaps I could. Come with me. He said, steering her up to the Song of Bones and into a library.

Most of what is in here would be.. Unsuitable, for a Kitsune, but if you ask me what you want to learn, I can perhaps find what you need. he said, beaming around the library, obviously his own little domain in the castle.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Looking around the library, Christine marvels at the collection for a while before getting down to business. "It's not necessarily about what I want, but what I need. I'll be travelling and most likely fighting quite a bit in the near future. Some basic healing, at least. Something to get rid of items like the anklet. Probably some more combat ability besides hurling foxfire, whether through hurting or just restraining or otherwise hindering enemies or helping allies. Those, I think, would be the most important ones to cover."

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Healing is easy. Simple healing anyway. This one here, and this.... He said, moving along the shelves and pulling a couple small leatherbound books down on a table, before thinking about her other requests.

You see, combat has never been a kitsune's strong point. illusion and binding though, those are truly a fox spirits' forte. So I can help. This he said, scurrying up a sliding ladder, before kicking off and getting down not a book, but a scroll, Is a spell known as Heart's Dream. It's an illusion that traps it's target in it's truest immediate wish of their own hearts. No man is without vice. It's powerful, but it's effect is short. And it will take time to learn, and with practice you can improve it, widen it, lengthen its hold. But it becomes a contest of your will, against a targets to hold them there. he said, handing her the healing books, and the scroll. You have 7 days. You Can learn both of these in that time. But first, Healing. He said, seeing her to a chair, and then pulling a knife from his robe and having her look at her own arm. Remember it as it is, perfect, unharmed, whole. he said, and then he cut her flesh shallowly.

The easiest healing is a memory healing. Willing your body to return to it's uninjured state. But it can't be used and only works on your own body. The books, will teach you a spell to repair others flesh, and mend bone. But for now, Focus, Focus on that memory and Will it be reality. Kitsune can make Illusion Real with enough time. he said.

Re: Christine ( \oO.Oo/ )

Listening attentively, Christine does as she's told and focuses on her arm as it is, on every detail of it. Wincing as she is cut, Christine focuses on the memory of her intact arm, on there being no pain or blood, just unblemished skin.
