The corridor is as empty as it was before, save for the body sphere behind the grate in the ceiling. The monstrous ball casts lustful gazes at the variety of females going under it, no doubt wanting to have a massive sex party with the three different girls it's looking at as a few hands try to reach down at them through the holes.

The trio arrive at the t-junction, sounds coming from the direction they've yet to investigate. It can be recognised as a conversation, the language is unfamiliar to Nina's ears however. The other voice is monstrous, yet still commanding and charismatic. The other is only a slight girl's voice, that seems to be agreeing with the other speaker most of the time

Nina nods towards the unexplored path suggestively, glancing at Iliana for approval. Assuming that she gets the go ahead, Nina will start to stealthily approach the right hand passageway and attempt to get a visual of the two speakers.

Iliana gives Nina the nod, allowing her to advance towards the conversation. Once within the vicinity of the archway, she takes a look behind the corner to see what's waiting for them.

Within the confines of the room, a shimmering field shines inside an elliptical stone frame. Nina believes it to be a portal of some sort with a quick glance. Some 10 feet away from the portal stand the sources of the conversation. The girl looks like she is a bit shorter than Iris is, sporting a white sleeveless robe that leaves her navel exposed, a knee-high black skirt and sandals made from straw. A wild mane of silvery hair goes down past her shoulders, quite not managing to cover the pair of wolf ears on her head. Behind her back, a fluffy tail slowly moves from side to side under the shield and massive saber she's got strapped there. She is otherwise quite normal, but keeps replying to the other being there with a monotonic voice, keeping her dead eyes locked to the creature in front of her.

The creature talking to her has a more monstrous, almost gorilla-like silhouette, with it's other three-fingered hand nearly touching the ground as it leans on a wooden staff. It has the facial features of a fox, a long canine snout with a wiseman's moustache in place of the whiskers dogs usually have and three huge, fluffy tails at it's rear end. Reddish-brown fur covers it's body, a few dark, jagged stripes marking it's back. It has an echoing, monstrous voice that adresses the wolfgirl in front of it.

"Looks like caught them off guard" Iliana whispers to Nina in a barely audible voice. "What do you think, friend or foe?" her mistress asks Nina's opinion, keeping an arrow nocked and her bow half- tensed as she looks into the room.

Nina glances the two figures up and down. A wolf-girl and a fox-man she thought at first, but likely more than that. She focused on the three fox tails at the 'man's' backside. She'd read about kitsune in japanese cultures. Usually they were female though. Shaking her head, Nina realized she didn't know what to make of it. Iliana came over to her then and posed her question.

"I couldn't say," Nina answered. "The one seems monstrous, but looks can be deceiving - and since we can't understand what either of them are saying, there's no sure way to tell other than doing what I'd normally do."

Nina looked sideways at her mistress with a knowing smile and an innocent shrug. "Shall I go over there and say hi?"

"I don't like the look of the girl, it's as if she was possessed. That dead gaze says a lot." Iliana says back at Nina. Pushing her back a bit, the mistress lifts up her bow and angles herself just so, allowing a clear shot into the room. With a twang, the arrow is released. Iliana manages to pull off a shot worthy of a pro assassin, nailing the fox with a strike to the base of the skull. The kitsune-like creature falls on it's side, landing on the tomb floor with a thud.

After that success, Iris follows Iliana into the room to check up on the wolfgirl, who still seems to be without her own mind.

Rubbing her arm self-consciously, Nina wanders along with her mistress and Iris to the center of the room. She looks down at the fox, killed with one expert shot, examining its body.

Then she turned her gaze to the dead-eyed girl. "Hello?" she ventured, not really expecting a clear answer, if anything at all. "Can you hear us? Are you all right? That thing was possessing you..."

The wolf-eared girl doesn't respond to any of the inquiries they aim at her, still staring blankly in to the distance. Only after Iris pokes her cheek does a reaction happen, with the girl taking a spinning leap backwards, drawing her equipment with one swift motion. Now sheltered almost fully behind her shield, the wolfgirl keeps the massive saber ready at a sideways position.

As if this wasn't enough, the kitsune they thought was dead slowly ambles to it's feet. With blue fire burning in it's eyes, it grabs the arrow sticking out and pulls it away with a swift jerk. Before anyone can react, it taps the staff on the ground, vanishing and appearing behind the wolfgirl. Barking her a command, the fox thing's upper body lights up with the blue fire as it no doubt starts to focus on casting a spell behind the cover provided by the girl.

"Ah! Aim for the fox! He's controlling her! I'll distract her." Running forward to confront the wolf girl, Nina raised her shield intent on fighting defensively. She gripped the blade in her hand tightly, testing the distance between them as she squared off against her opponent. She intended to strike with the flat of her blade... and if she saw an opportunity, she would throw herself at the wolf girl in an attempt to grapple her.

The quick wolfgirl charges forward, her wild swing aimed at Nina. The huge blade moves quite a lot faster than Nina thought, just barely managing to get her shield in the middle. Hit with enough force to nearly knock her of her feet, the shock from the sudden block is still quite painfull. Fighting back the pain, Nina manages to swat the girl with her own sword, causing her to pull back behind the safety of her big shield.

As the two swordgirls battle it out, Iris slinks towards them with quickness. The blind girl pulls out her usual acrobatics, flipping past the wolfgirl with a jump that just clears her. Sliding down the other girl's back, Iris proceeds to tear into the Kitsune who is unprepared for a fast attacker like her, getting cut across the chest faster than it can realize Iris' sword is out. The blazed- up Kitsune retaliates with a touch from it's hand that Iris fails to evade quick enough. A soft pink glow briefly surrounds the petite warrior, who suddenly looks quite hot and bothered as her face lights up into a bright red blush.

Iliana pulls back on her bow, aiming at the kitsune. Intent on finishing it off once and for all, she pulls the arrow back a bit too much, causing the bowstring to snap with a loud twang. A bit startled by the sudden malfunction, she tosses the broken bow aside for now and settles for her dagger.

Nina worked her shield arm in an effort to test its effectiveness. A dull pain course through her due to the massive blow, but she could still move it. At least she was still in a fighting stance after that strike, and she was thankful for it. She decided to forgo her original plan of grappling the girl. She was too quick and Nina's bum arm would come back to haunt her if she tried it.

She crouched low and stared at the wolf-girl's poise. To follow her eyes was folly, as was watching the sword itself - the former would deceive, and the latter could be a feint, changed with a flick of the wrist. She focused on the hips and the shoulders - the torso could not deceive. It would tell her where the strike was coming.

Nina kept a low center of gravity and pulled her sword inwards, disguising its reach, inviting the wolf-girl to advance just a hair's breadth too close. Nina had decided that a little bloodletting might snap the wolf girl away, and so she resolved this time to go for a stab. She would feint forward, like a fencer, pivot and dance back half a step as the motion would incite the wolf-girl to react, then with a lunge she would thrust her sword forward, hoping that the ruse had worked and she could score a hit.

The wolfgirl keeps her guard up for a while, before doing a sudden rush forward. To Nina's surprise, the girl doesn't attempt to swing her blade this time, instead resolving to ram into her like a bulldozer. Nina finds an opening in the haphazard rush, managing to score a hit on the opponent's shoulder before being pushed back by the girl's battering shield.

Iris continues keeping the pressure on the mage, another wound appearing parallel to the one just caused a moment back as her sword flashes out. The kitsune groans in pain, it's web spell missing the nimble warrior by a mile as she darts out of the way. Tapping it's staff to the ground again, it attempts to shift into a more secure spot in the room, but ends up exposing itself to Iliana who is quick to capitalize on the opportunity. With a casual flick, the mistress switches to a reverse grip and inflicts another gash to further cripple the wounded fox creature.

"Oof!" Nina stumbled backwards, her own shield clattering against the wolf girl's assault even as her own blade bit over and into her opponent's shoulder.

She attempted then to shift her body weight and dig her heels in to grind the rush to a halt, then with a sudden motion of her shield and sword arms, she would windmill them both forward and up, attempting to catch her opponent's sword on the way up and then bring her own sword around quickly to slash at the girl's leg, turning her blade flat just as it would impact with her flesh, once again hoping to subdue her. It was obvious that stabbing her wasn't enough to snap her out of this death-like haze.

"That all you got?" she taunted, trying to cajole some life-like response out of her, knowing as she did so that it was unlikely.

Nina manages to stop the push of the wolfgirl, even knocking her down with a blunt strike to the leg. Iris moves to the side, throwing her sword across the room just past Nina's head. The blade strikes true, sinking into the Kitsune's neck like a guillotine. Staggering back, it tries to dislodge the sword with a few weak attempts, but ultimately fails as it falls to the ground.

The girl laying down on the floor regains her senses, taking a quick look around as the life returns to her eyes. With a whine, she starts to crawl away from Nina

Nina breathed deeply, a light glistening of perspiration beading across her brow as she looked down at the wolf girl on the floor. Suddenly the girl regained her senses and looked up at Nina in fear, crawling away with a weak whine.

"Eh?" The hard look of concentration melted away from Nina's face as she realized the fight was over. Quickly she sheathed her sword. "No... it's okay now, I'm not trying to hurt you. It's okay... really!"

Nina took several tentative steps towards the wolf girl, her hand outstretched, wanting to help her to her feet. The whine was so pitiful to her ears, and with the life returned to the girl's eyes, she was suddenly sorry that she had hurt the girl so... even though she hadn't fought with the intent of killing her.

"I promise, no more sword, kay? We're not going to harm you."

With the other two females retrieving their equipment, the wolfgirl keeps backing off from the approaching Nina, dropping the saber she was wielding as she does so. Looking at her with fearful eyes, the girl draws her shield between them once Iris and Iliana close in to see what this was all about. She keeps peeking over the top of the shield, only giving them quick, frightened glances and a few more quiet whines as she stays behind the portable cover.

Nina crouched down and put her own shield aside.

"There's no need to hide from us. Honest," she told the wolf girl as she lowered herself onto hands and knees. Then she crawled slowly forward, trying her best to smile and show off a friendly, non-combative face. "Here now, won't you put your shield away? You were being controlled against your will, but we've freed you now."

Tentatively, Nina reached out a hand and patted the wolf girl's ankle. Then she crawled up closer and knelt in front of her, keeping her arms down in her lap.

"Maybe you'd like us to take a look at that nick on your shoulder? Hmm? We can bandage it up for you. Make you feel better?"

Over her shoulder, Nina spared a word to Iliana. "Poor thing, she's frightened to death of us. She didn't want to fight us, that's for certain."

After Nina's diplomacy attempt, the wolfgirl looks a bit more eager to co-operate, looking at her but still keeping the shield up. As Iris too comes up to investigate, the girl turns to her. As the blind warrior reaches her hand out, the girl starts to sniff into her direction. The shield drops down as she comes forward, glomping against Iris with a cutesy roar-like sound. As the wolf snuggles against Iris' body, she looks down at the sudden show of affection before petting the girl's head.
"Blind girl, you smell like home..." she suddenly says in a child-like voice, not wanting to let Iris go.

Nina tilted her head at Iris, then turned a questioning glance at Iliana.

"I suppose you know something about this? Where is Iris from that she'd smell familiar to this wolf-girl?"

Taken to re-stringing her malfuntioned bow, Iliana replies to Nina as she tests to string for soundness
"Iris' original home was in the eastern parts of the world. I thought her dress style and weapon of choice gave that away." the mistress tells her, now done with her quick repair operation and looking over at the shimmering portal some distance away. "This portal must lead to some locale in the far east..."

The wolfgirl still keeps on snuggling Iris, despite the wound on her shoulder. The blind warrior doesn't seem to mind, looking quite happy as she pets the girl's fluffy ears.

Nina giggled. "You two make quite a pair, Iris. It's adorable... Um, hey, wolf-girl, you don't have to let go of Iris, but, could you tell us your name? Mine's Nina. I'm sorry we had to duel a few minutes ago."

Nina stood up from her kneeling position then, still watching the wolf girl and waiting for a reply, but she moved then to Iliana's side then, content that Iris could keep an eye on the newcomer for the moment. Standing beside her mistress, Nina moved a hand to carress Iliana along her back as she investigated the portal.

"What are you thinking, Iliana? Is this portal dangerous?"
