"Well, in the morning. It's not that far away." Lynette assured Nina as the green-haired girl pondered aloud. For her part, Aandra seemed mostly unaffected. "Well... I would have to return to my forest survival duties anyway, so I wouldn't be with you guys too long anyways. But since I am here already, might as well accept your hospitality, you people are alright in my books." she told the maid-knight.

Some time passed as Nina maintained her vigil, which passed uneventfully after the scene ealier. Isaku appeared some time later, taking over for her. Lynette had fallen asleep on the grass, but Aandra had remained awake and provided possible outlets for the maid-knight to talk if she felt like it. After listening to what she had to say, Isaku patted Nina on the head. "Try to ease your mind and have a rest. I will do the rest of this guard shift, I'm familiar with this kind of job. If that girl tries to come here again, I'll make sure she doesn't get too close to attempt any harmful acts."

The sleepy green-head yawned and nodded to Isaku.

"Thanks, big guy," she said and gave the large guard a hug around his waist. "Gonna sleep now. Stay safe."

Wishing Aandra a pleasant sleep and her thanks for staying up with her, the maid knight crawled into the the caravan cabin where Iliana was and curled up next to her mistress, draping some of the lady's cascade of red hair over her eyes to stave off the light of dawn. Nina fell into a slumber, where she hoped she would have dreams of her friends and not nightmares of her foes.

"Will do." Isaku replied as Nina retreated to the wagon, starting up a discussion with Aandra as the druidess didn't seem to be on a sleepy mood. Setting herself up to sleep, the slumber soon came over the maid-knight.

Maybe like she had somewhat desired, the night practically flew by for Nina, no dreams or further disturbances snapping her out from her rest. She found herself alone in the wagon, but after a look at the entryway, she saw that they were not gone but simply gathered around the fire. It appeared they were eating food rations in the morning light, all of them. Even Aandra was still there, not having departed yet.

Nina walked out into the light, worried for a moment at having been left alone. Had Ethelinda come back and taken everyone? Her momentary fears were laid to rest when she saw the rest of the company gathered around the fire eating trail rations. She quickly went to join them.

"You needn't have let me sleep for so long, my lady," she said quietly as she knelt down beside Iliana. "Everyone awake but me... makes me feel lazy."

For her words, Nina got a bap in the head with the ration box that Iliana had, the thing finding it's way onto the maid-knight's hands after that. "No, it's not lazy. If you'd been asleep when we departed, then I might have called lazy on you. The rest is good for you. Now, eat up. Dusty here says that we'll move as soon as everyone's finished and the caravan is set up to do it." the mistress told her as she ate her own food. Maybe somewhat unlikeably for the green-haired girl, the old caravaneer had taken a seat between Isane and the mistress, having difficulties at selecting where to look.

Rubbing the ouchies away from her head, Nina took the box of rations and plucked out some dried figs and some trail nuts, munching quietly on them as she sat besides Iliana. Every so often she would stare off at Iliana's face and hair and yes, even at her mistress' body as she ate her food. In a way she was mirroring Dusty, only there was more to Nina's looks than mere perversion. Nina really did love her Mistress, and lamented all the distractions that they had been having for so long. And now there might be a price out on Iliana's head by some nameless enemy, threatening to take away the biggest tie that Nina had to this world. All of it was so real to her now, and nothing was more real than the wonderful lady who had taken her in and made her a part of her house, her family, her life. Nina knew she didn't have as much to offer as someone like Lynette, or Isaku, or Iris with all their strange and unique skills, but Nina wanted to give everything she could to safeguard this woman and it didn't matter to her what dangers she would face to ensure Iliana's safety.

Nina roused herself from her reverie by biting her finger by accident having nommed away the last of her dried figs. She jerked her head to the side to glare sternly at Dusty, who had gotten far too close to Iliana in the past minute, and the old pervert was practically drooling at Iliana's cleavage. Nina narrowed her eyes and coughed loudly to get his attention and make him understand the death stare she was giving him to keep his eyes to himself.

Nina didn't manage to deathstare at Dusty for too long, the old man was a professional at oggling and doing other things at the same time, so he was quickly off from the circle. Going back to preparations for the upcoming departure, he left the girls and Isaku to finish their eating, which the group managed to do in a short order since the boxes were not too big. Still, they would serve their purpose and nourish the group through the day.

Somewhere among the hassle of the departure preparations, Nina noticed that Aandra and Miranda had dissappeared from their midst. But when she took a look towards the forest, she could see the druidess waving at them, the spider probably doing the same. It was hard to tell, since they were a good distance away. While there might have been some words that the maid-knight wanted to say to her, it was too late now. Dusty was already sitting in his seat, and the others were getting into the wagons, about to depart in a minute or two.

Nina simply waved to the druidess and the spider, before climbing back into the carriage with Iliana and the others. There was not much to say to Aandra. Perhaps they would meet again sometime. Until then she wished the girl health and safety.

Nina caught up on a little bit of shut eye while the caravan rumbled onward to its destination across the desert, though if Iliana needed her for anything, she'd immediately rouse herself.

With her plan firmly set on sleeping some more during the trip, Nina was relatively easy off during the remaining time as she spent it on daydreaming. Only once they were back in town did she get back to the waking world, the others having spent their time on simply observing the surroundings and chatting between each other. But now, they were at the gates, where they could see the replacement gate guard Anotsu looking at the wagons. But once they began to get out, he eased up. "Welcome back, everyone. Looks like there's been some reunions along the way." he told them, casually throwing open the gates.

After a good amount of time, maybe a pair of weeks on the trip, they were back home.

Nina woke with a start as the carriage came to a stop outside of the estate's gatehouse. Yawning and smiling happily at the familiar grounds, Nina waited until the others had exited the carriage and then followed them out, breathing in the sweet air of home. Everything appeared to be in order, at first glance, which was comforting.

"Thank you for the welcome back," she said to the young and handsome gate guard as she took her place at Iliana's side, following the lady back through the main entrance into the house proper.

Inside the home of the Lady and all the servants, the group were greeted by Valkenhayn, who seemed quite happy to get things back into normal running order. "Good to see you all again. It was getting mighty boring around here, as nothing really happened, besides Miss Nina's canine companion occasionally wanting to play." he told them, quickly moving along with his duties and ushering Isane along to provide her a room to live in until there was some resolution as to her situation. The other scattered to their respective rooms as well, to unpack and get settled into the mansion once more. The mistress announced her desire to have dinner, so there was limited time, but it was hardly anything that required one to rush things.

Back at her own room, Nina would find it pretty much in the same condition as it had been when she left, but apparently Tiger had decided to live in her bed during the maid-knight's absence. The striped doggie was there as the girl entered, having messed up the bed with a particularly wild dream that was still going on, causing a lot of flailing canine limbs.

Nina gave Valkenhayn a hug in greeting after his initial salutations with the lady were out of the way. When she had time, she would go up to her room and pounce on Tiger, playing with the doggie happily in way of greeting.

"Hiya boy! I'm so sorry we were away for such a long time! But your momma got much stronger on the trip and we found friends both old and new! Whee!"

Nina proceeded to run with the doggie down the halls, chasing him this way and that, and really letting her playful side come to the fore. It was her attempt to make up for all the time away from the big pup. She would stop if someone outranking her told her to do so, but otherwise she continued to play until both she and Tiger had gotten used to each other once again. Then she'd go fix Tiger something to eat before getting herself washed up and presentable in her maid outfit again.

Then she sought out the Lady Einzbern once more.

The sudden pounce didn't seem to break Tiger's dream-induced flailing, but it soon turned out that it was simply just a transition from sleeping to awake flailing. Nina's explanations were not really reacted to among all the play, but surely the dog had at least some understanding as to what was being said. The girl and animal pair then proceeded to have a chase along the long hallways of the mansion, most likely a very good thing if Tiger had been all lazy during the time of them being away. Again, Valkenhayn happened to cross their path, but the elderly butler only looked at them with a degree of mild amusement. When it came to eating, it appeared that there was no need as the canine indicated with his actions nudging them away from the kitchen. Most likely the butler or Lily had already given Tiger a decent meal. This enabled the maid-knight to move onto her own businesses in a more quick pace. Having finished getting back into form, the green-haired girl took to looking for Iliana next.

Finding the mistress was not hard in any way, for she was back at her own room. Dressed in only her underwear, Iliana was doing stretches of different kinds, most likely to recover from the stiffness of the journey just past them. A part of her travel gear was scattered on the bed, but most of it was already likely back in their proper places.

After weeks of travel, training, and adventuring, it felt especially nice to be back in her old duds, fulfilling a role just as rewarding to her as bodyguard duty. Truthfully, she was still the Lady Einzbern's bodyguard, no matter what uniform she wore, but the maid's outfit was the first one her lady had given her, and she liked it. Again, Iliana was willing to go along with the maid-knight's plan, confirming her desire have the oils applied onto her entire form.
