Wow, so much history behind that RM2K that I wasn't aware of. APPARENTLY, it was never intended to be released outside of Japan. So the English version I have is automatically considered pirated thanks to some guy called Don Miguel. Who knew?

Problem I'm having is that the translated RM2k cannot seem to display Japanese characters anymore. Some of the old games I'm picking apart to see how they work use a lot of variables and switches and things. In one place, their name appears with the correct Japanese characters. Elsewhere the names would appear as something like ƒ￾ƒVƒAƒ“ which I can't stick into google translate.

I've tried looking for a copy of the RM2K editor original since I think I can navigate untranslated menus now but that stuff seems to have dried up and blown away. Does anyone know where I could look?

Edit: I would be open to the suggestion of getting a legit copy - but I'm not sure if that's even possible.
