Hi
in order to continue with some translations of RPGM games i bought a new pc with Windows 10
the problem is that when i download the games from DLsite, the archives in japanese comes with a bunch of characters without sense
the worst part is that this issue crashed the game archives making impossible to play or test because it doesnt recognise the document's name
i tries installling the japanese language in the pc but the issue is still there... is there a way to fix that issue??

Yeah, well.
To be blunt, it's a super hyper mega rare bug... nah, kidding :p

It's the most frequent question / problem.
Non Japanese computer don't know how to handle kanji, hence the giberrish.
You got several way to solve this problem - all already answered in oh so many thread (like the tech help) here or in countless on line page (as well as any half decent site dealing in japanese game - legally or illegally).

1st and best option : switch your local unicode to Japanese (might need to install the Asian language pack). Best coupled to switching your regional setting to Japanese as well to avoud futher problem, but 2nd part isn't required for most game. Once you switch your unicode, your PC will handle Kanji and you'll get the real name when extracting archive (you might have to redownload the archive thought).

2nd option - use emulating tool to Emulate Japanese setting. Such tool are NTLEA or LE (local emulator). Of course, you'll have to start whatever archive extractor software you use with the emulating tool when you want to extract an archive having Japanese Kanji.

3rd option - up to date 7zip / winrar software and get the right option so that they extract using the right default language.
For exemple, if you use winrar. Instead of right clicking - extract here / to. Launch winrar with the archive selected. Go to option =>Name encoding =>932 ANSI / OEM - Japanese. Then extract. The software will extract the archive using Japanese as default language, thus preserving the Kanji name.

PS : please, put such question in the FAQ thread instead of creating your own thread ^^
