With Betty too being ready for the game, Tomoe could make her first move as per the starting color given to her. The miko was not the most experienced player, but she had played about a dozen games back in the shrine with a few of her sisters, so she was not exactly green either. The aggression she usually showed in combat was not transferred over to this game of strategy, where she was more defensive and restrained in her offensive maneuvers. Generally, she was more willing to sacrifice her pawns than the special pieces, but would make those kinds of sacrifices too if there was some clear superior benefit to be gained from the loss of a more able piece. Considering the skill she was facing, the priestess would be careful to scout out any potential traps before making any hasty sacrifices though. Having settled on a basic line of strategy, she started by moving a pawn on the leftmost edge forward the required two squares.

(Yerrrrrp. We might have been able to play it out on some net chess thingy if we were any closer on them timezones. But this is perfectly fine too, since Tomoe has better chances of winning than I do '.')

Seeing Tomoe's defensive moves early on, Betty enacted a more aggressive strategy early on, taking a few of her pawns but allowed the miko to take a few pieces here and there in turn. It was a hard game to gauge in the middle, with odd moves made here and there, but Tomoe's caution allowed her to spot a few traps, the most memorable being one in which Betty sacrificed her queen in order to move Tomoe's, exposing her king to an attack that almost put her in check mate. Though she did recover from that, it cost her her own queen and a castle, leaving her with only a few major pieces left. All of her pawns were gone by that point, leaving her no way to get any back, and when Betty marched a pawn back far enough to get her queen back it became a game of watching herself get cornered more and more until, finally, Betty put her in check mate.

"Good game, good game!" the alraune said jovially, while the sine of her kin looked jealously at her for a moment, particularly Primrose. "Care for another one? You did pretty good, better than any of these schmucks can usually manage," she continued as most of those looks faded, save for the burning one from the particularly shy alraune who was still helping Rose with the accounts over at the main table.

For all her defensive strategies, Tomoe found herself not being quite alraune's equal in the game. Betty's play was almost flawless in the miko's eyes, which was was made possible by the edge she had in terms of experience most likely. The defeat came one piece at a time as the pretty flower lady executed another grand plan in this game, much like the one from before. Still, it appeared that the priestess had made an impression on her opponent, who gave her some commendation for her efforts and stated that she was one of the better opponents that she had faced before asking for another round of chess. If the level of challenge was lacking around the farm, Tomoe could easily see her wanting another game if she was honest with the earlier statements. "I don't see any reason to decline, so yes, we could play another set." she gave an answer to her opponent, somehow imagining that there might be further bets.

Unless there were more bets that Betty wanted to agree on, Tomoe would prepare herself for the second game, deciding to try out a more aggressive strategy this time around instead of keeping on the defensive. She had certainly not missed the looks that were coming her way from Primrose or the others, though the one from the shy flower lady was the most noticeable by a long shot. The miko did give her a few looks back, but tried to not do it so much that it would distract from the work that was likely important to the farm business.

"Awesome!" Betty replied, and started setting up the pieces for another game. "Would you like to try for another chance at the trinket?" she asked as she replaced the various pieces in their proper formation, "I could make it extra enticing for you... How about, you get the thing either way, but if you lose... Well, I really don't like sleeping with clothes, and I'd decidedly prefer it if you did the same~"

Whether Tomoe accepted or refused, the game would begin, and her more aggressive approach took her opponent by surprise. They began to trade pieces over the center of the board, with the priestess managing to get the better end of such trades often enough that her alraune opponent was pushed back a foot. Betty began to sweat, and suddenly shot her queen forward, carving a bloody swathe through her back pieces before Tomoe finally managed to take it down with her own. Then she was on the back foot again, but not out, with her outer pawns forward and a few main pieces left and Tomoe holding the center, with only a few pawns and a knight guarding Betty's King. Whether she would try to press her advantage and win the game or eliminate the last pieces of resistance that Betty might manage to bring up first.

As Tomoe had been expecting, there indeed was some further betting that Betty was wanting to partake in, even after she had already won one such deal. The alraune upped the stakes somewhat this time around, making the whole deal all the more attracting with her promise of giving that jewel thing away even if the priestess lost the second game. The losing end of the bet started to go into a rather lewd direction, but once again the voice of reason in her mind was strong enough to prevent the usual instant denial of anything vaguely sexual. She had already forfeited herself to the flower lady's bed, which could be bad enough if things went in the wrong direction, so the loss of clothes did not seem that much of a bother at that point when it could still earn her some useful defenses in future combat scenarios. Hmm, alright then. We'll go with that." the miko agreed to the terms of the bet before they started the second round of the evening.

By being aggressive, Tomoe actually managed to play a little better. After the first round, she had gained some insight and could make more prudent moves, which appeared to get the upper hand on Betty this time around. With the board mostly under control, the shrine maiden analyzed the situation before her and pondered her next moves a little. While she certainly was an advocate of mercy in real battles, there was this nagging feeling in the back of her mind that leaving the few pieces that the alraune still had would likely come back to bite her in the rear in some unexpected manner, considering the other party's level of experience. Taking up on that thought, she proceeded to make sure that she could wipe the remaining pieces out before going for the king.

Betty grinned as Tomoe accepted her second bet, but her expression was extremely brief given how the game ended up going. Pushed to the ropes, Betty started to scramble when Tomoe started targeting her remaining pieces rather than going for her seemingly vulnerable king, her turns taking a bit longer than they usually did and being made with greater hesitation. She managed to save a few of her pieces and managed to bite back a little, but for a while she was decidedly on the ropes. After a sudden turn, however, she got her confidence back, and then her moves became a bit more effective again.

"Tsk, you didn't fall into my trap!" she said with a laugh, and for the next few moves they edged around one another, preserving what few pieces they had left. A bold bait with her king on Betty's part was ignored, but it turned out to be a ploy in which the alraune managed to advance her last pawn forward to reclaim her queen, and she managed to bring down a few pieces. April came by to watch the end of their game when Claire and Stella went to bed, and Rose joined in after their work was done, the two watching eagerly as Tomoe and Betty danced their last few pieces around.

Eventually, after much maneuvering and the sacrifice of her last knight, Betty managed to corner Tomoe's king, putting her in check mate and thus winning the game. The alraune wiped some sweat from her brow and sighed after Tomoe knocked over her own king, "that was close! Everyone here is always so predictable, they always fall for that trick. I could play with you all night!" Rose laughed lightly and clapped Betty on the shoulder. "oh don't hog her all night Bet, let someone else have a turn! That is, of course, if she doesn't mind playing someone with a bit less skill at the game?" she said, glancing curiously in Tomoe's direction with a wide grin.

For a moment, Tomoe thought she had the game in the bag as she steadily diminished the amount of pieces left on Betty's side and the noble-looking flower lady started to hesitate some more on each of her own moves. Somehow, she still managed to turn the tide slightly after a particularly bold move, which brought the lost confidence back in a hurry. One wayward pawn managed to work itself into the miko's end yet again as well, and then there was a queen menacing the board once more. The mighty piece went on to do a good chunk of damage, ultimately providing most of the push that brought Betty's second victory for the evening and sentencing the priestess to a night of nakedness in the victorious alraune's bed. Sighing heavily, Tomoe agreed to what her opponent was saying regardless of her loss, as she too had enjoyed the game a good deal as it was a mentally stimulating challenge that would only do good for her mind and situational awareness.

And yet, it looked as if she would not be done yet as Rose was suggesting yet another game with some of the other alraune present. The idea sounded decent enough as there was good time still, but there might have been some desire to delay the inevitable as well since the idea of doing naked sleeping together with someone was not exactly something that the shrine maiden was looking forward to. "Certainly, if there is someone who might want a game." she agreed to the offer, fully expecting even more betting shenanigans from her next opponent but not minding any if they were skipped.

Rose wouldn't make the same sort of shenanigans as Betty, the older alraune replacing her daughter opposite Tomoe and setting up the board. "First turn to guests," she grunted, sitting leaned forward with her elbows resting on her spread knees. With no bets to worry about, the game would begin, and Rose would prove a more direct and defensive player than Betty. Though she wasn't bad, the master of the farm wasn't quite the player that Betty was, and while she was no slouch Tomoe was well warmed up. The priestess won the first game only for Rose to challenge her to a rematch, which the miko would also win. Claire, assuming Tomoe would accept more games, would challenge the miko next, but after losing a game badly the alraune would go up to bed with a huff.

Most everyone else had gone to bed by then, leaving Rose and Betty the only other ones in the room, and Betty would ask for one last game, promising no bets for this one. The alraune would cream her this time, ending Tomoe's brief win streak, but in the midst of their latest game a tired looking Wistaria, Camara, and Felicia walked in with Shenron and Ryuji following not a minute later. The two locals merely washed up before going to bed, but Wistaria would go and sit next to Tomoe for the second half of her final battle against Betty. The two hunters would watch briefly before excusing themselves for bed. Once the game was over, Rose would head off to bed, and Betty would stretch and let out a yawn.

"Good games, good games.... Are you ready to come up to bed?" she said gently, smirking at Tomoe. Wistaria seemed confused at this, and worried, and asked; "What do you mean, "come to bed?" She's not sleeping with you." The alraune who had taken such affection for her seemed affronted, and when Betty turned a mischievous smile upon her the pretty alraune grinned wider. "Oh... But she is! While you were away, she made a couple of bets, and... Well, she'll be in my bunk tonight. Without a stitch of clothing between her and I~" Betty said impishly, causing Wistaria to actually pale in a mixture of shock and pain. She looked to Tomoe, frowning, and hesitantly asked; "Is... Is that true?"

Whether or not Tomoe wanted to tease the seemingly hurt alraune more or not was up to her, but it seemed as if it was coming close to the time when she would have to make good on her promise. It would be easy to punish Wistaria further, adding to the anguish already readily apparent on her face upon hearing that Tomoe would be sleeping with Betty, the pretty alraune farmhand having left out any denial of the idea that their dealings involved sex. Tomoe could clear that misunderstanding up if she wanted to, or confirm otherwise, perhaps even opting to go through with it if she opted to tease Wistaria with the idea of her having sex with another alraune. Regardless of her choice, Betty would be beckoning her along, and with everyone else going to bed there wasn't much left for Tomoe to do but go on to her rest.

Once upstairs, Betty would lead her to her room, each of the alraune's bed rooms proving smaller than the guest rooms. Betty's had a crystal mirror, a rare treasure that looked secondhand, a dresser full of clothes, and a modest bed set against the wall that could fit the both of them but would necessitate a good bit of cuddling. It was illuminated, like many of the light sources in the house, by a lightstone hanging from the ceiling. Once she had agreed to accompany the alraune upstairs, Tomoe would be ushered in only to have the door closed gently behind her, a slightly mischievous look on her face. "So.... Just you and me," she said as she strolled toward Tomoe, her gait decidedly predatory and an alluring sweet scent that seemed tailormade to inspire arousal in humans filling Tomoe's senses, the alraune walking until she was standing directly in front of the miko. "And absolutely none of these!" she said, one hand rising to gently widen the part in Tomoe's robe for a moment before falling away without anything further, "I'd be happy to help you get out of them. You can leave your sword wherever you like, I know how some warriors can get about their weapons~"

With no further bets of dubious nature being suggested to her, Tomoe sighed a bit in relief as she might not have been able to handle further losses if they had more punishment attached to them. Rose took the table first, having cleared out her work for the day to have some free time and play a game or two. The head of the farm was not quite up to the level of mastery that Betty was, so the miko had a fairly easy time with her when the games were compared to the two earlier ones. Using the defensive nature of Rose's game to her advantage, the priestess went on to win both of they games, the latter one being a bit harder as her opponent had gotten a slight look at how she herself operated. As the others started to leave for bed, the white-flowered Claire sought out and got herself a game as well. Unfortunately for her, she was not even at Rose's decent level and turned out to be a faster win for Tomoe than the farm head had been. Witnessing the huffy leave of her opponent, the miko hoped that she had not taken that loss too badly, though she imagined that these people were not that bitter about something as trivial as losing a game of chess which had been played just for entertainment and the betterment of one's mind.

Some time after that, the busy workers from the fields came back to the house once more, really looking like they had done some work. Ryuji and Shenron took a brief visit as well, but did not have much interest towards the third game between Tomoe and Betty, leaving almost as quickly as they had arrived. The miko was a little too focused on her game, not really managing to tell them what was going on during the little time that the two spent in the main room. The fact that she had not played for any further bets with the pretty alraune made the miko even more relieved as the final game between them went just about as bad as it could, with her making a whole lot of terrible mistakes that took the game to a rather fast end.

It did turn out to be the final game as pretty much all of the others too started to make for their respective resting spots, Betty coming over to suggest that they too follow the lead, much to Wistaria's chagrin. The reaction did not surprise Tomoe at all as she followed the two alraune exchange some words, Wistaria looking genuinely bothered by this turn of events to say the least. Of course, Betty had omitted some information, which might end up with some bad conclusions being drawn if the truth was given to the other alraune. While she gave the idea of bothering the alraune a little more some passing thought, the priestess ultimately decided against it as who knew how she might react to the whole thing, as avoiding any hassle being caused among her friends and the host family was the ultimate goal she had during their visit. "It's true, but... we are just sleeping, nothing more. I swear this much. Please, do not be worried about this. I'll be just fine." the miko came out with the truth, or what was the truth she knew at the moment. Somehow, she had the idea that Betty might try to go further than simple sleeping if she could, the earlier conversations she heard during dinner between the various alraune giving the idea some backing. Hoping that Wistaria would understand and try not to be too much of a worrywart, she would leave with Betty in short notice, not really having options on the matter.

Just like the other sleeping rooms, Betty's little place was located upstairs. It was certainly not the biggest or grandest of rooms, but Tomoe could easily see it being a loved, comfy little space. It did remind her of the shrine in a manner, where they had their rooms in a long hallway, each sister having a small personal room. She too had been in one most of the time, but since she gained her rank, there was a move to a somewhat bigger one that was her current room. "I wonder how the room is holding up... Hopefully the sisters are cleaning it now and then." the miko pondered as she went through the alraune's room visually, finding that it certainly fit the owner in many ways, the mirror and stuffed dresser in particular being quite like her. Shifting attention away from the furnishings, Tomoe made the alraune her main focus instead as the situation was starting to look somewhat dangerous. Of course, she could not back out, so she would have to go along with what was happening for now. "Yes... just us." she agreed, starting to get nervous already as there was a scent wafting in the air that was surely some form of mild aphrodisiac. It was not making the priestess want to fuck herself mindless though, so she could overlook that. As she saw Betty grab and slightly shift her robe, the miko raised her arm a bit, almost grabbing the alraune's wrist to make her stop, but held back as the gesture was only there to encourage her really. "Ah, alright..." she replied once the noble-looking alraune spoke up again, taking her up on the suggestion and taking Kuchinawa off before placing it leaning against the wall near the bed, where it would be somewhat accessible in the case of an emergency. "Alright... I'm ready. If you want to, you can help with undressing... And... you can do it all by yourself if you want... I did lose, after all... So I don't mind..." the priestess told Betty after setting her blade aside. She was starting to look rather meek at that point, the nervousness starting to get into her. Tomoe would let the alraune help undress her if the latter wanted it, but would not try to force her, which she guessed would be rather unlikely to happen as Betty was quite visibly wanting to do it. She would try to get the clothes into a somewhat neat pile near the bed, and after the whole deed was done, follow the alraune into bed as well.

Tomoe's reassurance lessened Wistaria's anguish, but only slightly as she shot a suspicious look in Betty's direction. She had no argument to offer against the idea, however, Tomoe having made her bets and given her word. The other alraune was left to simply look jealous as the priestess went upstairs with Betty.

Once they were up in the alraune's room, Betty grinned at her as Tomoe offered her the opportunity to undress her by hand. "Mmmhhmmm.... Don't mind if I do~" she said softly, chewing her lip with excitement as she stepped up to almost press against the miko and her hands went to work on Tomoe's clothing. Her haori was first, its bindings pulled apart and the garment removed to be folded and set aside on Betty's dressed.
