Thanks for the walkthrough, some things to do in order to advance in the story are really weird, even in the full translated game.
BTW, I lost the cat, as he was terrified at some point in the game
Is there any way to have him again in the party?
About the squares, I was able to make the game show proper japanese by changing RGSS202E.dll to RGSS202J.dll in game.ini
