Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

well what about Project X. I know we hasn't seen any new releases in a long time, but isn't it pretty much a couple of people doing the game? Zeta doesn't really have a team working on the game but she still gets shit done.

Pretty sure Project X has a few people working on it, like 3-4. I could be wrong, though, and I'm too lazy to go check, so meh.

Also, it feels kind of unfair to compare Mitsuko X to Project X. PX has been around longer and has almost always had more people working on it.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

I think his main problem (and the problem for many others who try the same thing) was that instead of doing a few simple platformers and getting a feel for the flash format, perhaps building an engine with which to build this game upon, he went strait for the jugular and decided that his first game would be a H-game, and from what I've seen, doing so puts tremendous pressure on a person.

The other problem (and everyone else dose the same thing) was that he released a demo before he had everything in place gameplay wise, and then said that he would be continually updating the game. This puts even MORE pressure on him to update, which just leads to frustration, ending in what we have here today. Its sad, but this is what happens far too often.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

I don't understand this whole deal with pressure. It's not like people are knocking on his front door going "IS IT READY YET???" it's some faggots on the internet (not that I actually saw anyone bugging him...)

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

Well, there was that errant death threat in his announcement of quitting post. Not to jump the shark or anything.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

Hey, if it's good enough for the Fonze it's good enough for me.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

Slight update, I was still watching the blog in a vain hope of more work and it paid off.

He says he's going to keep working on a revised game to release on DLsite.

Oh cool. I wonder what he plans to charge? If it's reasonable, I'll be all over it.
Edit: Rats. His preview images appear to not be working.

Mistuko X is going to be continued? Fuck. Yes.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

Yeah, seems kinda of shady for him to originally be releasing this for free. Then have some sort of tantrum and decide he's not working on it. Then say pay me for it. Almost as if the last one sparked the idea for the middle one.

I believe Kyrieru's success changed the viewpoint of many developers. Not that it's bad, it's actually good.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

The game will be held in comparison to Kurovadis. That's just going to be my measuring stick from now on. Either that or Monster Girl Quest.

Taking into consideration the great (at times fucking frustrating) gameplay, and super great price, Kuro's gonna be hard to top.

Yeah, I thought about that too, but I figure he saw that Ky made quite a decent haul from Kurovadis sales, and that got him motivated to pick up Mitsuko X again. Money can add motivation, and hey, if the game turns out excellent and sells well, maybe we'll have another kickass developer in the making. I'd be all for that.

I could be wrong, but I occasionally try to see the best in people. In either case, it'd be nice to have another developer of action H-games. RPG maker games aren't bad, but it gets old after the 30th one you play.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

Hasn't finished a single flash game in 3 years yet now he's seeing dollar signs. Kurovadis sure made it look easy to cash in on your porn games.

So there is a God.

Well yeah. The problem with working on an H-game (Or any game for that matter) for free is that outside of your own personal motivation there's nothing keeping you on it. So if you don't enjoy the work you'll eventually stop doing it. It's like the guy working on Hounds of the Blade, he drops projects after a time because he grows bored, at least with cash motivation something might get finished.

I'm not defending him, I'm just saying that you should try to see it from his point of view. He didn't like his work, so he stopped bothering with it. Now that there's a chance to be rewarded for his effort he's all over it.

People are jumping too quickly to call kyrieru's situation a success. Untill he's made enough money on a game to keep him afloat for a year or more I'll hold my judgement. That's not to speak ofthe quality of his work or anything, just that you can't count your chickens before they've hatched.

Good point, but Kyrieru did at least make enough to be able to take an entire month off. I think that's indicative that he at least made enough to stay afloat till his next game comes out, and assuming it's even better quality he should be able to top Kurovadis' sales.

Re: Anybody want updated Mitsuko X?

Wow, color me impressed! I was 100% sure this game was done for, tombstone and everything, but to think the guy would pick it up again with the intention to see it to the end... i'm positivey impressed.

Let's all say a prayer to the god of porn (the Almighty Internet) that he doesn't just drop it again if thing get tough

As long at it is made at a higher quality then vanjas games....
I personally would like more western programmers to jump on that train,
because you can actually read the text in their games and because of that i would be willing to pay money for them...

I've actually been making a Mega Man styled engine to make some games on, one of which was a hentai game. Problem is, I can't draw worth balls (nor could I probably ACTUALLY draw balls! :O) so that kinda keeps me from getting anywhere a lot of the time. I've got a friend who can draw CGs very well, but making just a CG hentai game is so... Meh. :(

Point being, there are people out there willin' to do the work, but unable to do large and important parts of it! :p
