Its a VN, very heart warming love story by Moenovel. Ofc the steam version is censored. I have no idea where to buy the uncensored one but there is a restoration patch that restores the H scenes. Its not a perfect patch but it gets the job done (gallery becomes mixed matched and opens the wrong images).

I played through this several times even after unlocking everything, its just that good of a story.... IMO. Don't blame me if you end up not liking it and wasting your time xD

Do note that the English translations are mediocre at best.

Edit: If My Heart Had Wings is an animated visual novel presenting a lovely and bittersweet tale of youth. Take on the role of Aoi Minase in this romantic-comedy as he meets various young girls in his hometown and works together with them to revive their school’s glider-flying “Soaring Club” in order to realize their shared dream of flight.

You can download it from Nyaa packaged with the restoration patch, it's fairly entertaining for what it is but this forum doesn't usually deal with VN type games (apart from the occasional mention of new/big releases)

This one though is fairly dated and its initial release was ill received due to the story being butchered in an attempt to censor adult themes (not just images, but also story elements, jokes, and other dialogue) which led to certain routes having major rewrites.

I will say that the story is worth a read but be sure to use the restoration patch.

Im assuming they made a SFW version for steam and a NSFW version somewhere else. I dont see why though since Huniepop is on steam with nudity in it

The original translation (long before steam was even an option, much less a consideration) was apparently made to appeal to 13 year old French girls. I wish I was kidding, this shit was stated directly by the company that made the translation.

As to why anyone would even think to translate/butcher an 18+ VN for an underage audience when there's plenty of (better) 'SFW' VN's out there is beyond me, and everyone else who read that post.

Well, the translator pretty much cut all h-content available. And when I said cut, I mean 'butcher the whole thing with a woodsaw' instead of 'cleanly cut the scene and make it fully SFW', just because two of the heroines are kinda loli-ish (the twin asa and yoru).

For Amane and Kotori's route, cutting the h-content doesn't mess with the storyline so much since both of their route are kinda far and away with the h-content, but Asa and Yoru's route are kinda rife and connected with the h-content, so when they made the scene into a fade-to-black scene, it's kinda awkward, but still fine overall.

Problem is Ageha's route, where the main problem revolves around how Aoi (the MC) got into a friend-with-benefit relationship with Ageha (yes, they have sex a lot, but Ageha didn't want to go further because she's afraid it would break their current relationship apart), while Aoi want them to be more than that.

Can't say that's a good move MoeNovel, thank god there's a content restoration patch, not to mention the h-scene's translation (which was made by another group) is far more superior than MoeNovel's choppy, almost broken english.

Yea, as mentioned already:

They cut off every last H scene and add covering on any nudity which at the same time, screwed up the story. I don't recommend reading this without the restoration patch.

It does kinda help it reach a wider audience, there are quite a bit of adults who gets turned off by the fact that it has H content, even those who are already fans of visual novels, which is kinda hypocritical since most of them are likely horny dogs. Some thinks the H gets in the way of the story so much that even fast forwarding through it is not enough for them or some shit. Anyways, since this is one of those 99% story and 1% porn kind of visual novel, they figured it shouldn't matter that much.

I actually started reading this recently. I never read the original so can't really say if the translation sucks but I agree, it does seem like the 99% story 1% porn case. I would imagine the sex scenes in this are like the ones in Fate / Stay Night or the majority of the ones (except for one in particular) in Muv Luv's trilogy.

They're there to be there but don't actually contribute anything. Honestly one of the few good VN's I've read where the sex scenes actually mattered was Katawa Shoujo. While they happened multiple times during the story of Grisaia, I don't think there is a single one of them that actually has an effect on the story.

Hoo boy, I dare you to read Ageha's censored H-scenes then. You'll either bleed yourself out from overscratching your head, or you'll start swearing at Aoi for being a whiny bastard who want to get out of friendzone without any apparent effort.

Also, Amane's route is - although the h-scene are few and between - plot-entwined with the h-scene considering their first time physical relationship is what affirm Aoi and Amane's route.

Really, the only route that h-scene doesn't really contribute anything is Kotori's route.

Seeing as it has been "butchered" as some are saying, I'm assuming the text for the H scenes themselves didn't change, but is it just the fact that once the scene is over, the dialogue has been changed to just not mention it? If so, I'm probably gonna hold off on continuing to read it. I'd rather get the full experience.

If so, I'm probably gonna hold off on continuing to read it. I'd rather get the full experience.

Glad to hear it, thanks. I'm probably just gonna go with the current translation + restoration patch. I'm in the middle of learning japanese anyway and plan to go back and read any VN's I enjoy once I have enough comprehension to do so. I'll get the untranslated/uncensored dialogue goodness then anyway .
