(Lol @ Randomguy. Don't expect to be seeing much of him after this?)
Mithras had been tracking a pair of booted footprints for almost two days through the light snow surround Gods-Reach, and had passed three different campsites in that time. She knelt down to examine a print, still betting on it being her two missing friends who had gone missing a few days ago, even though she hadn't actually seen the two. They had traveled form the small town where Randomguy, the groups warrior, had been resting after his leg had been injured in a fight against some wolves. Sera (a blond elf,) their groups hunter and Delilah (a redhead human,) their groups mage had gone out of the town, leaving their comrade behind to let Mithras know where they were going. That had been five days ago.
They had been going to Gods-Reach to find someone that might be able to heal Randomguy a little faster, so that they could investigate what was going on in the area as a group. But Mithras had found their tracks leading into the woods about a quarter of the way up the mountain, and so had followed them. She'd traveled as fast as she could form daybreak until dusk, and believed that she'd gained most of the ground between them. She'd found a dead bear and a few dead wolves, obviously killed by fire spells which Delilah preferred and well placed arrows, reinforcing the idea that her comrades had gone off track for some reason.
She followed the tracks for about two hours, until snow began to lightly fall from the sky. Mithras cursed, as the snow might hide her friends tracks, which were already fading. Hurrying, she hiked for another twenty minutes before she found herself staring at the entrance to a cavern. It was wide enough for six people to walk into comfortably, and tall enough for her to fight effectively without worrying about her sword scraping against the ceiling. The passageway was so smooth that she almost believed that it might be worked stone, if not for the stalactites and stalagmites that she could see further in. It was utterly dark inside, so she could only see about twenty feet in, but her friends tracks disappeared inside.
Was Mithras going to risk entering the cavern, or perhaps go and find help instead? Gods-Reach was within sight, atop the mountain, and she could probably get there within a day. She might not be able to find the cave again, however, and Sera and Delilah could need her help within.
