I think most of the problem is the mechanics behind the tentacles... I mean, when you think about it, how exactly do you control a tentacle from off-screen in a manner that will actually arouse the actress? I'd count this as a success just from the simple fact that they succeeded in some penetration, which must be difficult enough. Also some of it actually didn't look like they'd just wrapped tentacles around the girl, yanked them off, then showed it in reverse.
Maybe in twenty years we'll get something decent.
