I like his art style. I also find it clever that he's made the sprite's in such a fashion that he only needs to rotate their parts to make them move.

The lazy design facilitates and eases the animation process. Draw one girl this way, and you can mess with the sprites to get tons of different poses.

...That said, I also like Playshape's art style and animation and all that, so I can't really complain about his porn. Also I don't play porn games for the game part.

(EDIT: Actually, I like his art style, but with one ex exception.

Males. Mario, Bowser, the Wolf-form Link; they don't have get the special animation-ready treatment, and for some reason they're always drawn either evil, sneering, and pupil-less, or just sorta derpy-looking (the wolf).

...Except I guess for cartoony characters. Koopa, DK, and Toad all seemed pretty non-freaky.)

If the guy put some more work into it, it could be a solid art style. It reminds me of stick figures.

Yeah, he really needs to make things easier for himself cuz we know how hard he works at his games.

Dude, what crawled up your ass and died there? It's his choice what he does with his games. He isn't making it for you, or for me, or for anyone else but himself. He's stated that he's just doing whatever comes to his mind for as long as he's interested in it. He never promised to deliver a complete game in the first place. Like with Legend of Krystal, he just creates whatever he wants and then lets other, more dedicated people have a crack at continuing it if they want to.

Well, right now we're discussing art style, which isn't strictly a game feature. So the fact I don't like the game finishing thing doesn't really come into the argument here. That's an entirely different point of mine on how he's considered a game artist if he doesn't make games, most recent entry excluded.

I think I've made my point known that I think his art style is lazy and other people made their point known that they think it's smart. This thread is about discussing his stuff and I'm critical of simplicity, so I feel like what I've said is just fine where it is.

If I may make a poor metaphor, it's like walking through a museum where each hall is a different style, then I walk down this one and point out that I don't like how the style comes together, and everyone told me to get the fuck out of the museum. Everyone's flipping out cuz I think it's the amateur wing.

i was actually obliviuos to the quality of his games, due to the lack of decent things revolving around porn games,

but something is important,
HE HAS TO PRODUCE MORE GAMES,
yes he has to produce more games that takes time and is decent,
he has to produce more games that takes time and is decent the least,
i want moar!!!

(this post may or may not be incomprehensible, and has the tendency to be neither)

No I understood, and it reminded me to bring up something that I didn't before that might explain my stance.

Gargantua said he doesn't play h-games for the game part. I'm the exact opposite. Hopefully you guys see where I'm coming from in that almost any hentai game is relatively poor compared to non because it always seems to have content to make up for a lack of quality somewhere in the game. I don't care what fetish is involved or if it's even h-content vs ryona, I'm judging the way I would a game. That's why I like things like blank blood, nanocrisis, or nightmare sphere aside from some control glitches. Hell, that was one of the TP complaints we've had before.

This is a place to discuss games and artists and we've done with criticisms perfectly well in the past, I don't understand why all of a sudden people are flipping out and I'm the asshole. I don't like the style so it's obviously automatically my fault? If so, that's really childish and someone thinking so should grow up. Zero and I had a quick back and forth about it in another thread, but we didn't get personal or throw neg reps around, so I can only imagine the problem here is not my own.

*edit* also somewhere in the games vs h-games content I wanted to say that although I think Mario is missing is bad, it's relatively better than a lot of h-games. The average for the two genres are very far away from each other, but mim falls in between there

But that's what I don't understand about the position. You guys hate visual novels as I do. Some visual novels have still pictures, others are click and receive an animation, but aside from Mario, most of his stuff was click and receive animation as well. It was just not as artistic, so it made it look like a game, but they were really just the same thing as any visual novel. So I don't get how someone can point at it and say it's different. But I guess that's more of an argument of how much interactivity is required for something to be considered a game.

And let's be fair, I think we're all aware that on average, a flash game with h-content is usually shittier than it's non-porn counterpart. I just try to ask, why is that, and give examples of why that doesn't have to be

Personally, I think the guy could do better if he tried, but who's to say how much free time he has to actually work on this stuff? He's got nice ideas and some decent animation skills, it just feels like he doesn't put the same time into it like others do; hell, I'm pretty sure even TP puts more time into his games than this guy does.

If he can't put any more time into his games than what he already does, then fine, I can deal with the animation; but if he's going to start doing platforming, he had damn-well better step it up, because that 'Mario is Missing' game was simply bad. Not the worst, but it could have been sooo much better.


... dammit. Now I can't get the thought out of my head of what might happen if someone who did excellent platforming programming teamed up with Zone to do 'Mario is Missing'.

first theory : EPIC due to interestability of the game (whatever that means now

theory two: Chaos due to the conflict in ideas and ass(i didn't want to turn anyone off XD(not that anyone was supposed to be turned on(its supposed to mean something else)))

and some other random things

then it must be either great, long, or just a huge file.

I would assume it's going to be a long-ass game, considering how confusing the gameplay is in the beginning.

By the way, is it just me, or does this remind you of some really poorly made children's games you could find on alot of computers in elementary school? Specifically the mystery ones. You just had a huge game, practically no instructions, and a year's worth of recesses to finish it. Oh, and a teacher who had no idea how it worked.

Damn that Oregon Trail, all I remember is hunting for food one moment and being dead from starvation the next; that, and having no idea of how the two were in any way related. Still a mystery =P.

Well, comes to mind that the non-porn counterpart is produced by a company that has several paid programmers working with the lastest hardware/software for several months (years in some cases). All this for the purpose of selling (hopefully) milions of copies around the world to make a considerable amount of money.

On the other hand we have a guy working with wathever he can get his hands on, during his free time, actually losing money on the bills, for no other gain than his personal satisfaction.
Personally i wouldn't bother downloading a rpgmaker for free if there wasn't a consistent chance i could get money out of it...

I perfectly understand your point when we talk about a software house, that actually sell the games.

In this kind of game you can find flaws, glitches or fetishes that don't belong to you, but you can't really complain. You are free to speak your opinion, but asking him to do more than he wants to do is not in your rights as he does not ask you to support him through money/effort.
