Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)


The robot was far too focused on tasing Rose to avoid any attacks coming it's way, the shotgun already mostly rendering it inoperable but the sharp blade removing it's camera feed would make it certain that it would not do anything besides blind shots had there been any remaining functionality left in it.

The hit of from the riot grenade had left Rose stunned as she was trying to get back into her bearings from all the control devices she had been subjected to, leaving her looking good enough to recover if given a bit of time. In the break room, there seemed to be a turn in the tide despite Taio's earlier strong showing as some Japanese power words could be heard, and no real clanging of metal.
 
When Adelle blew the mech zapping Rose to pieces, she stormed over and kicked it hard to knock it over, and went to check on Rose. "Hey hon... you're good... here, let me get these off you," Adelle told Rose, undoing the wire from her legs by unraveling it, and thinking about taking that wire, as it could be useful later.

Once Rose was free, and she had her sitting up, Adelle would move to check on Taio, as she didn't hear the sound of metal clanging anymore. She would rush in and drop kick one of the goblin looking mechanoids, and fired the shotgun at it once it was clear of Taio.
 
The wire was still hooked on Rose's flesh in two different spots on her legs, so it would take a bit to actually get it off without trouble. Maybe it was better to let the large girl pull herself together as she was now free from anything attacking her, and she was getting herself up so she might even remove it herself.

Inside the room, two of the small mechs were busted apart and no longer a threat, the net having delayed the group enough to negate their numbers advantage and given Taio time to fight them. But she had gotten into a spot of trouble as one of the remaining two was now clinging to her back and pinning her arms so she couldn't swing her weapons around to and do further damage. The other one was being held back by her kicking it, at least until Adelle came in with the dynamic entry to punt it away a good ten feet as it landed on it's face. Following up with a shot seemed to disable it, leaving them with only one that was still actively hanging onto Taio.
 
Heading on and letting Rose handle things there while she went to help Taio, Adelle saw the situation and rushed over and with a bit of a flourish of sorts, she kicked the bastard across the room, and blasted it. She moved to the other that Taio was struggling with and drew her bigger pistol. "Hold still," Adelle told Taio, and pressed the pistol against the head of the mech, and put a round through it.
 
The remainder of the fight was simplicity itself as there was no way to avoid getting shot from point blank range, the power of .357 being enough to blow out the controls of the remaining mech as it shut down. Taio still had to shake it off as even in it's destroyed state it wanted to remain on her. Just like that, the encounter was over. "Tried so hard to get the better of me..." Taio would huff as she checked the state of her mag for the remaining number of bullets.
 
"Rose got bonked on the head... so come on, let's make sure she's alright," Adelle said, helping Taio get the mechanical thing off of her the rest of the way, and moving back out to make sure Rose was okay, switching the spent bullet out in her .357 as she did and holstering the more powerful pistol.

"Hey hon... you okay? Here... up you get," Adelle would ask Rose, helping her to raise up if she hadn't managed to yet herself..
 
The room was clear, so they went back to the entrance hall and see to Rose, who had gotten to a sitting position and pulled out the taser prongs that had been attached to her just a moment ago. She still seemed a bit dizzy from being smacked with the riot grenade, and the wire wrap was still on her legs, now probably being the time to get it if Adelle still wanted it.

"A bit dizzy still... but I've been worse..." she'd declare what was pretty obvious, getting up to her feet when the aid was offered, it being easier to remove the hooks and get the wire once she was upright.
 
Adelle made sure that Rose was completely alright and the wire unwrapped from her legs before helping her get up. As soon as Rose was on her feet, and Adelle had dusted her off, she would take that wire and roll it up and slip it into her bag. "Could be useful. Also..." Adelle said, reaching down for the tasers the two bots had and seeing if either still worked, thinking they too could come in handy, and seeing if she could fit them in her bag too.

As soon as all that had been done, Adelle would head into the break room proper and explore it some with the others, seeing what they could find. "Mmm... need to try and find a security room. See where those cameras were linked to," Adelle would suggest after they explored the break room properly.
 
Now having some hook-ended wire to go, Adelle would look over the two robots for their tasers, which were not really salvageable as they were built into the gun/camera units and would not work if pulled out unless given some sort of new shell to fit the launching and battery parts into. The break room too didn't have anything worth picking up, just like it had during Adelle's last trip there. If she had her memory correct, the security room was located in the bottom floor, which was accessible from the last of the factory areas, and they had to go around and through the three others to get to the stairs.
 
"Mmm... that's unfortunate," Adelle would comment about the tasers being unusable.

She would lead the way to the security room of the place and made sure to keep her eyes peeled for any potential threats coming their way. She didn't want to have to tangle with an ambush of those mechs after all. "Those things were not here before. I dunno if the factory was automated and built them or what. But needless to say, I did not like getting shocked," Adelle would say to the others as she led the way to the security room, figuring if anything would tell her what was going on, it would Probably be there.
 
The trip towards the lower floor would start from the first factory room, the place looking indistinguishable from how it had been the first time. There still was a mess blocking them from going directly to the last room from the first, and the many, many toys still just laying about in there. At least this time there was nothing haunted in there that would rise to attack them.

The second room would be a different story. They could see that area of the factory floor having some of the cursed toys flying about, mostly blindfolds and gags. And those would not even be the only things there, the walkways that went over the production area having a number of weird bat-like drones resting on them, probably overlooking the area. If they wanted to reach the stairs to the bottom floor, it was through this room, past the things in there.
 
"Mmm... yeah Taio have a look. See what I meant by this place was weird and stuff? Weird sex toys just floating about the place, looking for any random girl to stuff themselves into or onto, if they can," Adelle whispered to Taio as they got to the second room, pointing in at the things. "I believe this place is legit outright haunted by someone... or something. What, I dunno. I'm not an exorcist, so I don't really know what might be inhabiting the place," Adelle would add as she looked up into the room.

"Nothing for it though. We'll have to go through if we want to get to the security room. What do you want to do, girls? If we go... if we stay low we might be able to avoid most of it..." Adelle would say, knowing there were far too many to try and fight off.
 
"Probably the best chance we have without trying to fight off the swarm. The toys seem just to be flying around, but I don't know about those drone things, they might be looking for potential intruders and only move in to attack if they detect something to trigger their scanners. Not sure what they can do to us though, they don't seem that capable of any real damage..." Taio would agree with trying to just be the less attention grabby as they could be and stay out of the drone's sights as she seemed to think the toys being the lesser threat present.

They'd go and follow a path that would be the least obvious and in sight of the drones, doing so carefully. It would work for a while too, some minor attention from the toys coming their way as a few of them tried to attach on one of them here and there, only Taio falling prey to one as she got gagged by one of the ballgags but seemed to accept it instead of making a number or stopping. Carefully swatting at the toys seemed to work, and they made more progress until a more determined blindfold tried to add blindness to Taio's list of conditions, and she seemed to lose her temper at it as she tried to hit it more vigorously. This would be the moment that caused the drones to activate, one of them picking her up on it's scanners and instantly sending the info to the rest of them it seemed. These things would come alive with a red light, each drone having wings that went as crazy as a hummingbird's, and two little mandibles on the front of their otherwise spherical body. Having detected something, they'd lift off and start coming towards the girls' current location to investigate.
 
"If I had to guess... hmm, they are probably watchers, and direct the toys to attack. I don't recall them being here like this though, so I don't really know how they're working," Adelle would whisper as she crouched and made her way forward, taking a very round about path to keep out of sight of the drones.

As they moved forward, Adelle saw Taio gently swatting at the toys, though the ballgag that eased into her mouth she didn't stop yet, in favor of making fewer movements. As one of the blindfolds came hovering closer though, she swung a bit harder at it and Adelle heard the humming of the drones as they detected Taio's movement. When she saw them coming, Adelle grumbled softly. "Dammit... girls, run to the exit. Go!" Adelle called out, whipping the alien blaster out and switching to the acid spittle shot, and firing twice into the incoming drones, before moving to run for the exit too, hoping that the acid shot would slow them down enough to give the girls a chance to escape.
 
With the detection happening, the girls made the quick decision to flee towards the next room and possibly hope that the drones wouldn't follow them, each of them having to slap a few flying toys on the way. Rose was less unfortunate this time, managing herself perfectly as she went past Adelle, who had decided to fire at the drones to make a distraction and possibly destroy a few. And she would clip two of them, making them crash.

Taio would fare less good, running square into another flying blindfold and practically blinding herself, which would put a stop to her running immediately as she now needed to be really mindful of her steps. And that would not even be the end of it as four of the drones would fly towards her in formation, a web of wire lit up in red light forming between them. The formation would pass her, striking the web they had produced into her and releasing it, the thing instantly wrapping on her and tightening itself, leaving Taio unable to move her hands as they had been pinned by the web, leaving her in a rather bothersome situation.

Rose and Adelle could exit as they reached the door to the next room, but Taio was still away from the and in a very real bind as the drone formations were moving around towards them, a good number of them likely now focused on her. In addition, the random toy attacks were still happening, but only Taio had been affected so far.
 
As soon as she saw Taio, Adelle glanced at Rose and drew her blade and rushed back in. "Cover me from the toys, Rose," Adelle said and paused halfway to Taio.

She hadn't tried this before... but Adelle focused her magics and pointed her sword at the drones and used it as the focus point, and sent a small discharge of electricity out into the drones, keeping her focus no matter what and maintaining the electricity until she had short circuited all, or most of them, to the point she could get Taio. As soon as the drones were down, Adelle would rush over and grab Taio, scooping her up, and running with her to the exit while Rose covered her from the toys.

Assuming neither her nor Rose got caught by any toys, Adelle would set Taio down as soon as she had reached the exit, and used her sword to cut the wires off her, and yank the blindfold off too.
 
They would go on to abandon the possible safety of the room next door, a good thing as they wouldn't want to leave Taio behind, who would likely end up in some sort of bad situation if she was just left there.

Adelle would go on and raise her sword up to try what she was imagining, but there was the small trouble of her not being able to use electricity as her given powers were not of that nature. She would end up looking a bit silly just standing there, but Rose would cover for her as one of the drone formations would try to come at her next. The large girl's swing would catch them as they came with another net, the thing wrapping her mid-swing original-sized claw hand into a fist that she couldn't really open as it was, but that wouldn't stop her as the net didn't manage to detach from the drones before she swung it down and smashed a whole formation of them into the ground.

The drones seemed to operate in these formations, four of them making one, and now it looked like there were three of these left, plus a duo of stray drones that were likely less powerful.
 
"Come on... come on... Damn... fine then..." Adelle grumbled as electricity seemed to be beyond her, where she attempted to weave some fireballs to launch at them instead now that the drones were being swatted out of the air by Rose like they were little more than flies and she a huge flyswatter.

She would target the remaining three drones with the fireballs, and once they were down, she'd weave those three fireballs into a small wall that would surge into the flying sex toys in an attempt to melt some of them, or at least force them back, while Rose grabbed Taio. "Get Taio, and run," Adelle would tell Rose once the drones were all down.
 
Once tuning into what she actually had access to, Adelle was looking far better with the fire as her hastily conjured balls would detonate in the middle of a drone formation, breaking them apart and taking one of them out, leaving two formations for them to deal with. Some of the toys would try to get themselves on her, but she managed to avoid and swat away the few that did.

Rose, being closer to Taio, would scoop the smaller girl into her arms and try to fall back towards the door, avoiding one of the remaining formations in the process. But the toys would get one over her as a high-speed dildo would smash into her head, making her fall over and land on top of Taio, leaving her in an even worse situation than before as Rose scrambled back onto her feet.
 
Adelle rushed over to cover Rose, and swatted any other flying dildos out of the air. The one that had struck Rose, Adelle would grab and stuff into her bag for the moment, figuring they could use it to study once they got out of the room. "Come on hon... up you get," Adelle told Rose, standing next to her to cover her and making sure to block any other flying sex toys with her own body if she had to, so that Rose could get Taio out of there.

Once they were able to get out, Adelle would close the door behind them and cut Taio loose, before checking Rose's head. "My poor Rose, you keep getting bonked on the noggin..." Adelle would say, checking to make sure Rose wasn't suffering from a concussion after being struck not once, but twice, by high speed flying objects.
