Would it be wrong to say that all was right with the world? Not particularly. In all honesty Angel could not have had a better day. Everyone on the cobbled streets of Small Fruit welcomed her as she walked with a smile and a wave, knowing her from her childhood among them as a friend and a good soul, someone to be trusted. And as the young woman walked, it was so easy to just bask in the love and affection that was showered up on her with every face she saw. It was not the adoration shown to a hero, but to a friend, a family member, and in truth, Angel was both of these to everyone and it was true happiness to live and love and be loved by so many. The sun was high, the sound of sparrows and crows chirping and cawing as they moved from building to building in the warm breeze lending music to the beautiful scene that had unfolded before the strange half breed as she walked, her steps clacking softly upon the smooth stones of the road. There was no plan today really, but today was the day she left her home, and everyone gave her a warm and heart filled send off, several of the older members of the populace actually stopping to give her a hug and well wishes before sending her on her way. The gate was in sight, the last barrier before leaving her home to see the world as it was for herself, an exciting time for Angel indeed.

Meanwhile, whilst all this well wishing and hugging was going on, a very strange and mostly confused and overjoyed Arachne had finally escaped her imprisonment near the town. Looking around at light that was so bright it was blinding, she huddled under, and then in a tree, trying to let her light shocked eyes adjust as the overload of sounds and sensory input made her head spin. She could sense others nearby, like she always could, but the energy was higher today. Or maybe it was simply the sensory overload. It was hard to tell and in truth it hardly mattered at the moment. What did matter was that the spider woman was hungry and now... She had a proper hunting ground to explore...

Looking around from her position through the leaves, she could make out a large, raised structure, but didn't know the name for it. It had two large flat panels, and an arch that held both of them, with a pair of creatures standing in front of it, the panels open and the creatures smiling and talking to a female of the same breed, or... not quite the same, she looked the same... kind of. What was that big shiny thing on her back? This was all too good to pass up! So many new things!

Freedom! No more mushrooms! Semi-primitive thoughts rushed throughout her mind as she viewed the preys chatting just beyond the opening as a single one of them, marked differently by a large shiny... thing? on her back, separated from the rest of the prey. She watched as after the prey past through the opening, parts of the structure moved and the opening became no more!

If only the hole in the earth was that easy to depart out of! Indignation ran through her as the thought of the prey having an easier time than her. Seeing the prey following indentations on the ground towards her, she added two and two and came up with five.

The preys are obviously sending her an offering! But no no no, she can't receive it here, she wasn't ready, she had to set up a hunt! The prey must have a sporting chance before being consume after all. Quickly heading along where the vegetation didn't grow for a bit, she stopped where two trees were moderately close and the indentations pass right between them. Quickly creating some protein fibres spinneret, she built large obvious web right between the two trees, just the right size for the prey, then she settled down to wait for her offering, out of line-of-sight from the pathway.

Grace was in high spirits, after much debating and persuasion she finally managed to convince her mothers to let her leave home and explore the world on her own. She would make a name fir herself just like her mothers had done! She had had been taught how to use her powers for her and others good. And was well versed in sword play. She was confident that she would be okay in her travels. He had save up money from various odd jobs and chores and had purchased enough rations and supplies for her trip to The Acadmey's Adventurer Guild; where she would look for jobs to get herself started down the path of greatness! As she headed down the cobble stone path she noticed that two large trees ahead had been covered with some sort of web, Man. she thought to herself someone is not being subtle at all, youd have to be blind or hyperactive or mentally challenged or something to miss that. Oh well it should be easy enough to take care of. she finished as she clised her eyes, focuses her inner power and channeled it into a blast if blinding energy towards the webbing in front her. "There! That should fix that problem!" she grinned widely vefore dusting her hands off and proceeding through the forest towards the Academy.

And with that the web was destroyed, the threads burning away quickly as the energy tore through it. Which was fortunate for Angel, and of course, for little Billy. Little Billy walked through the remains of the web unsnared and save, tapping a stick in front of him excitedly and grinning from ear to ear as if he hadn't a care in the world, as if the kick in the head he had received from the family mule years ago hadn't addled his brains forever. And with that, Angel had done her first good deed, rescuing the blind, hyperactive, mentally challenged child from certain doom.

The Arachne probably didn't appreciate it however as the hot bolt of power blazed by her like a star given form to dissipate several yards away and destroying her web. Little Billy just continued on his way home, humming happily and bouncing a little with joy at the removed threat. It was a good day to be Billy.

Popping her head up after hearing the "fwoosh", she spotted her chosen prey, walking through where the remains of her web lay smothering. Also spotted was another yet another prey that she hasn't noticed before, heading the opposite directions along the indentations on the ground.

Now finally adding two plus two to get four, she realized that the indentations wasn't for the prey to be offered towards her, as the another prey; a lot smaller than her chosen prey, was heading the opposite direction towards where the structures were. Henceforth, she changed her theory of the indentations, labeling them as game trails.

She managed to escape the web! What to do what to do? If the web won't hold the prey then... Must use direct capture method! Oooo... Shiny object... Will grab! Shiny...

Gathering herself up, she followed her chosen prey stealthily, ignoring the redundant, but smaller prey.

Grab prey grab! But will it be challenging? Will try! First hunt!!! How prey taste?

Angel sweatdropped upon seeing the small boy escape the web, extremely grateful her blast didn't harm, nae kill, him; chuckling lightly and scratching the back of her head, before taking her sword down off her back in case she would end up needing it and continuing on through the forest, determined to not let anything derail her from her goal of reaching the guild and beginning her career as a professional adventurer.

I caught it! I caught it! I caught my first prey!!! Hugging the prey to her chest, she squealed happily.

Now that she caught the prey... Her stomach should eventually feel happy! She waited a bit... Her stomach still wasn't happy yet... Oh right! She must consume the prey first!~

But what was the procedure that would lead to her belly being full? Her grip starts to slacken as her mind begins pondering, trying to access the genetic memory of her spider genes, the instincts that were passed down instead of being taught, of how spiders will consume their prey.

A"GAH-WHA!? Let go of me, you monster! I am not anything's food, Goddammit!!" she cried out in anger as the spider woman descended upon her and grabbed her tightly. She struggled furiously to break free of the monsters hold, if she escaped she would immediately begin glowing brightly before drawing out her claymore and leveling it at the arachnid. "I dint want to harm you, but if tou truly are intent on eating me, then I will not hesitate unleash my full strength on you!" she cred out in defiance.

With the spider woman distracted by her own airheadedness, Angel would manage to finally squirm her way out of her arms before kicking off her battle aura, glowing a vibrant pink color, before dashing off at a hieghtened speed some ways away from the spider.

And like that Angel was free, glowing brightly as she made impressive speed away from the strange arachne by kicking off with her feet as she finally got some leverage. The guards nearby had taken notice of her glow and were quickly running to help, calling out to make sure Angel was alright and drawing longswords, the armour clanking loudly as they ran, the chain and plates bouncing with every step and staring at the arachne with a mix of anger and horror. But they didn't run. "Miss Angel! Are you alright!?" They asked as they got close, lowering the blades they carried to level the points at the spider woman and glaring at her from under their shining helmets, waiting for Angel to take the lead.

What was going through the Arachne's head was anyone's guess, but the guards and probably Angel assumed the worst, as they rightly should considering she had just about become a snack.

"............" Angel looked on confused and in disbelief as the spider woman promptly took off and disappeared down the road, She's...... not going to..... try the exact same trick AGAIN, is she!? She thought to herself in growing annoyance and shock, before her thoughts were brought back to reality by the concerned guards who had came to assist her. "............. Yes....... I'm fine, now......... *SIGH* Hey..... can two of you head down the road and check check out the area...... I have a sinking feeling in my gut that that spider woman...... Is none too terribly bright, and has probably set up another hopelessly obvious 'trap' for me..... I'm not afraid or anything...... But I just don't feel like putting up with incompetence any further.... Or at least not allowing it to deter me from my quest, please?" She asked irritably and apologetically to the guards, turning off her battle aura in order to not waste any unnecessary precious energy.

(Turn off Battle Aura, and follow closely behind the guards, on full defense.)

As far as anyone could tell that was exactly what the giant spider woman was doing, and given her inability to speak any known language at all, communicating was going to be difficult to say the least. But there she was, busy spinning the web in the most painfully obvious place it seemed she could find and Angel could watch in disbelief, or smack herself in the forehead like the guards were doing. Even they couldn't believe it.

What anyone did about it was up to them, not even the powers that be could really make heads nor tails of the strange situation and the guards wouldn't act without Angel's word to do so. But the Arachne wouldn't catch her by surprise again, being in plain view and under the direct scrutiny of the three people watching. As the web took shape between a tree and the ruined remains of an old wall it was anyones guess what was happening next.
