The wailing sound moves around the forest as if searching for something, but Kagura, scrambling through the underbrush and on one occasion ducking behind a tree manages to stay away from it. The diversion does cost her some time, however, and she is still well away from the village when the sun begins to set. The cool evening air brings mists with it, but at least the miko is on a path that would almost certainly take her into the village, if only well after the twilight hour.

Finding herself to be in fortune's favor yet again, Kagura makes her way onward without attracting the attention of whatever the screeching thing was, and eventually the two were no longer within hearing distance of each other. "I guess I should be grateful..." she would think as the night was starting to settle in. Not entirely sure if it would be in her best interest to remain in the wilderness, the miko moved on towards the village, late arrival or no.
