Having gotten her hug, Strike curls up at the foot of Helena's bed. Red gives Helena a hug too, before sitting with Helena, though she doesn't take any coffee. "I really did!"

"Good" Helena said, giving the slime a poke. Finishing her coffee, Helena yawned and stretched, standing up. Stripping and crawling into bed, she patted the spot next to her for Red, and started to doze, pulling Red close as she slipped off into sleep.

Red holds Helena, quickly falling asleep as well.

As Helena is about to fall asleep, a pop-up appears: "You are approaching the three hour recommended limit. Save and quit Y/N?"

Helena selects Y and waits for the transition.

The now familiar feeling of void lasts but for a moment, and as Helena gets out of the EGG, she is greeted by a young man with a goatee. "Afternoon Helena. I'm Max. You've been in for a few times, so I'm here to answer any questions you might have by now."

"Ya, If I lose my mind in there, does it stay lost" Helena asks, it may have sounded odd but the look on Helena's face was anything but joking. Despite being free of the machine and knowing this was reality, she was still shaken. Things had taken a dark turn.

"I take it you've encountered some sanity shattering horrors? Don't worry. In the event that you would go insane within the game, a game over should be triggered, so you won't actually experience it. And as long as you keep your stays within the safe limits, any permanent psychological changes are astronomically unlikely."

Helena looks at the man in silence, thinking about how to salvage the situation in game, and trying to remind herself it was in fact, a game.

Without saying another word Helena headed towards the exit, and the comfort of home, eager for something familiar after some of the events that had transpired in the EGG and happened to her pseudo self.

The next Friday Helena comes in again despite her doubts, and is directed to a pod as usual. The now familiar screen pops up

Helena braces herself before selecting Continue. closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, preparing to step into the damaged wreck that was this worlds Helena and hoping she could salvage the situation...

As Helena wakes up in her bed shared with Red and Strike, the memories of the Necronomicon and the eldritch horror she encountered already feel more distant. The sun is shining and the distant sounds of the traffic can be heard. As soon as Helena moves, she finds Red looking at her as the slimegirl continues to cuddle her like she's done all night.

Squinting slightly as she wakes up, she looks down at Red who is still diligently clinging to her, and Helena cant help but pull her even closer. "Good morning Red, thanks for yesterday, I really missed you guys. Lord knows I have enough cash on me now, how would you like to come up and see Ginny and Jasmine?" She asks softly, not wanting to part from the pair again, who were more like family to her then she'd had in a very long time...

Red smiles at Helena, clinging to her skin. "It would be nice to see them again. Why didn't they come with you, anyway?"

"Because I needed to get away, and they had work to do. I may still not be ready to go back but I'm at least going to check on them." Helena said quietly, memories of that last day flooding back and making her shiver.

Getting up, Helena distracts herself by getting dressed and doing the cooking herself for a change, making everyone french toast and bacon, assuming Strike had done her own hunting per usual.

After everyone had eaten, Helena called ahead for a taxi to pick everyone up outside in a few hours to take them all to the bus station, and back to Jasmine and Ginny.

Red eats with a good appetite and Strike scuttles around on the ceiling happily. Once they've eaten, Red looks around in the room. "Will we come back here?"

"I very well might, you can if you want. This is probably my only option to really unwind away from that hellhole of a town."

Red and Strike start playing around again, poking and hugging and grappling with each other, both clearly having good time.

Helena sits down and watches for a bit before diving into the fray herself, attacking both of the goofy combatants!

The battle of epic proportions between the three not-so-horrifying monsters continues for a long while before all three end up in a pile with Helena on bottom.

Helena squirms under the other 2, not sure how she wound up on the bottom, but laughing and breathing heavily anyway. "Stuck! Lemme go!" She shouted still giggling, trying to wiggle her way free of the odd mess.
