The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"May I?" The acolyte reaches for the heart. Muttering a short prayer, he concentrates on it, turning it in his hands. "I... am afraid I can't help you. It's a very powerful item, and will probably require an expert to identify it. You could ask Father Holbek, but I'm not sure he could do it, either. It seems as though it is meant to be implanted in place of the user's heart, though what effects that will have I cannot be certain."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

That sounds both awesome, and terrifying at the same time. And father Holbek has probably seen... Enough, of me by now to last him a life time. He doesn't like me very much. I'll have to look elsewhere. She said, taking the heart back and sighing. Thanks for trying though, I appreciate it. she said, wondering what to do with the incredibly powerful heart thing she'd found.

Ahh well.

Putting it away, she muttered a curse under her breath and headed outside, wondering if this place had a sex dungeon as well and closing her eyes looking for a suitable collection of lust.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

It would appear that the local humans are less perverted than the elves, for apart from what's probably a whorehouse, Helena does not sniff out any large collections of lust. She does, however, notice the strong scent of alchemical supplies in the vicinity.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Pondering the new ability to find chemicals, Helena tracks that down instead, wondering what the hell her cat killing curiosity was getting her into this time.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The scent leads Helena down the street to a small store front with several burn marks and a poorly constructed sign: "Doctor Munõz, Alchemist"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Sighing as Helena noted a building that seemed to have nearly burned down a few times, and reading the sign, she rubbed her forehead before stepping inside, looking around and wondering what the HELL was going on here.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As Helena steps inside, Helena can see that the front room is occupied by a queer looking machine that seems to be designed for pumping something. There's also a counter, but it seems to not be in use. A staircase leads down into a cellar, and from there, she can hear faintly hear the sounds of someone working with glass over the steady hum of the machine.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Looking around at everything, Helena might have actually found a proper madman. All she'd found so far were improper crazy people, not actual madmen.

Heading on downstairs since everything seemed to be down in the basement at the moment anyway, Helena poked her nose around. Hello?

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The air grows cooler as Helena heads downstairs and when she opens the cellar door, it's actually nearly freezing. "Good day, miss. How can I help you?" a Mediterranean looking man says with a hint of strange accent. He appears to not mind the cold at all as he works with titrating some liquid. He appears to be shrunken with age, and his skin has a greyish tint, but he moves with surprising agility and great precision.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Hi! Umm, Honestly I just followed my nose. Been wandering around all day trying to get this little thing figured out. she said, presenting the heart to everyone she met apparently like this was an oldschool fucking RPG. Now there was something she missed from her old old life. Video games. Ahh well. It was fucking videogames that had landed her here!!!

it had it's ups and downs.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The doctor peers at the heart. "What a curious artefact. I can do it in a minute, and it'll cost ten skulls, or whatever gold you have handy. No charge if you want to sell it to me instead."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

About selling it I have no idea quite yet. But I have the gold. she answered, watching him work curiously, and looking for any concoctions she recognized from Azalin's dungeon pools.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The alchemist does not appear to have anything that looking like either the pink fluid or the latex, though with so many chemicals around, he could probably whip up something to get Helena's interest. Finishing the titration and marking the results in a small notebook, he consults a heavy grimoire, picks a trio of chemicals and mixes them into a small vial which he then shakes thoroughly until it starts glowing with faint golden light. After imbibing the liquid, he picks up the mithril heart and examines it. "Interesting. It appears to be a fully function replacement heart, no doubt originally crafted for some wealthy adventurer. Being mithril, it of course provides protection if not outright immunity to most anything targeting the heart, whether by blade or spell. It also appears to enhance the agility and speed of the wearer. I would be willing to buy it for, say, twenty five thousand."

Properties: 25% fortification, +2 alchemical bonus to dexterity, +5 alchemical bonus to acrobatics, +10 movement speed. Value approximately 50 000 gp

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena strongly considers having to implant it. She could use that, but she also heard the gold and she grinned on the inside. There were other ways she could improve herself, and slamming a piece of metal in her chest was not the best way. If anything an arm that turned into a chaingun would be better. But she'd need to find a future world instead of this creepy shithole. Ahh well.

Hmm seems a bit low for something specifically crafted, obviously beneficial, and definitely rare. How about this. I actually need something you might be able to help me with. Places like where I got this thing? Leave me with a sour taste in my mouth... and a nasty headache. And by headache I mean bouts of paranoia or worse. If you could give me something to get rid of that, cure it? Or a few somethings if they're potions so I don't have to run to a priest to get my head fixed? I'd let it go for 25,000. Otherwise I don't think I'd want no less then 40,000 for it. she said, thinking further ahead then her immediate greed.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"That's... a difficult question. I'm afraid potions of such power cannot by made by ordinary means. However, I do have a cloak bearing a potent enchantment that would offer protection against that kind of mental shocks, as well as many other things. Would that be acceptable as a trade?" Dr. Munẽz says.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena considers the offer for a long moment, and nods. Anything to stop me losing my mind. I'll take the cloak, you can take the heart, and we'll part as unlikely friends Doctor. she says, giving up the heart in favor of protecting her mind over her body.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The alchemist nods and fetches the promised cloak. It appears to be an ordinary traveller's cloak, made from fine wool, but a closer look reveals that it glows slightly and Helena feels a now familiar tingling of magic as she touches it.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

She sighed happily as the magic made itself known through her fingers, nervous at first before pulling it on and smiling. And that, is that. Thank you for the help, I'll let you know if I find more. she said, pulling up the hood because hoods were edgy as fuck, and leaving him in peace.

Once back outside, she'd try to remember what the fuck she was doing. O yeah, waiting for the sun to go down because of Charlie. Well... shit.

Without too many ideas on how to entertain herself, Helena settled for looking for the most attractive man or woman she could find who either stank of kinkier lust, or was likely good in bed, and tried to get them too take that out on her. Because she was still horny, and life was not fair.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Not long into her search, Helena spots a pretty young man with dark hair and green eyes, carrying himself with quiet confidence and exuding air of thoughtful intensity. His eyes dart from place to place, as if searching for something or expecting an ambush.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

He'd do...

Was all she thought on that matter, approaching him carefully from the front where he could see her plainly. Which wasn't saying much because honestly it seemed she was so attractive she gave most people pause.

Well... Hello there. she said softly, smiling coyly at him as she got his attention.
