The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"What madman are you talking about?" the priest asks, removing his hand from his gun. "We might be able to help you - for a price."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

O Lord you people and your prices! I hate currency, I never have any Helena said, scrunching up her face. The masks salesman, Monte. He wants it but I tell you I need him, in one piece, I'm kinda fond of the crazy old man. Helena said plainly. She DID like Monte.

But price, apparently. What is it? she said, looking exasperated.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Some of your blood would do. I'm quite certain it would make an excellent component for a number of enchantments." the priest says as the writer slowly stands up, stepping outside his circle of protection.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

GET BACK IN YOUR FUCKING CIRCLE BEFORE I EAT YOU CAPTAIN RUDE PANTS! Helena barks at the writer, still annoyed at him before pondering the odd request. My blood. Why not. Fuck it, So long as A: I'm alive after, B: Free after, and C: also get the Map. Helena said, glaring at the coward in his little circle.

Is he always gonna be like that? Helena asked, taking off her shirt so she could stretch her wings, horns, and tail. Also names would be nice, I'm Helena. she said.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Master Avantane at your service", the writer says, bowing sarcastically, though he apparently can't help ogling. "And I'm Father Pietro." the priest adds calmly before walking to a wall and pressing a stone that sticks out ever so slightly before pulling it off. Reaching into the space beyond, he pulls out a scroll and hands it to Helena. "One mysterious map with no recognizable landmarks. It could be from just about anywhere."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Keep staring Avantane she told the writer, though she left out the part about him being a quick lunch as far as the food chain was concerned as she saw it anymore.

Taking the map, Helena shrugged. Hardly matters to Me, he wasn't specific, which means he either knows what this is, or he doesn't. she said, taking a good long look at it anyway and committing as much of it as she could to memory. And for my end. What, want me to fill a jar? I will also make it a note to behave while on this property in the future as I have an aversion to being Shot and this house is... Insanity. I like it personally but being a rat in a maze is frustrating. she continued, rolling up the map once she was happy with what she could remember of it, however little that was, and stowing it away with her shirt.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Avantane fetches Helena a jar covered in odd squiggles and a small dagger. "I designed it myself. No other architect would follow my specifications, and I even had to use multiple crews to work on different parts." he says.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Not gonna lie, the house Is impressive and i'd enjoy exploring it fully without the mad dash. But since we've all happily agreed not to kill eachother, let's just call today a win, and try again next time. Maybe with a glass of good wine instead of the surprise exercise. Helena said, holding out her arm.

You know... if you knew I was a demon you could have just said so... Saved us a lot of trouble, like "Hey! your blood is valuable! And I'd like a Jar." And I'd say "Really!? I need a map you have! And I can make more blood so whatever! Here!" And then Pieto wouldn't be angry, seriously I could feel a floor up and several mad rooms away. She continued, showing a completely disarming ability to refuse to shut the fuck up, making her seem more and more human by the moment in a sense, more relatable, more "I've known women like this. They're harmless" Kind of way that made people want to strangle her. It was like being in college again honestly.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Taking a hold of Helena's arm, Avantane makes a small cut on the artery and starts bleeding her into the jar. "I couldn't tell what you were, just that there was something off about you."

When there's about a pint of blood in the jar, Father Pietro casts a healing spell to seal the wound, though Helena still feels a bit woozy.

Helena acquires mysterious map, takes 2 points of temporary con damage

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Mmm, free healing service, thank you. and really? someone feels off and tries to kiss you and you run away screaming. Good lord. Helena sniffed, still annoyed but happy with the end of things.

I'll be wobbling away then, and probably see you later. You definitely, I enjoy being looked at like that. Helena said, turning back into a blonde before pulling her shirt back on and heading back to Monte's

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena makes her way back to the opera house, and to Monte's shop. "Hello friend. Did you find what I asked?" the old man asks, painting the serpentine mask with an odious tone of green.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Yup, tucked in a hidden compartment in the basement wall. Helena said, handing over the map to Monte. Sadly I didn't find the other mask, though I have time to keep looking. she continued, wondering about her meeting tonight.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Swifter than I expected." Old Monte says, rolling the map open to take a look at it before getting the elven ivory mask and placing it in Helena's hands. "I look forward to hearing of the exploits of this mask." It might be just her imagination, but she seems to feel a slight tingle as the mask first touches her skin.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Dont worry, it'll be... Loud. Helena said, grinning as her hand tingled when she touched the mask. It was not a thing to be put on immediately however, so she carefully tucked it away. She had a meeting to get to at the cathedral but maybe she had time for a meal on the way. It would depend on if something caught her eye.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The afternoon is getting rather late as Helena gets out of Old Monte's shop. By now there are people crowding in front of the opera house, socializing and waiting for the evening's entertainment to start. Elsewhere, the streets are growing empty - it would seem that few people want to be outside once the twilight hour arrives, so Helena just makes her way to the cathedral. The instructions on the card get more complicated there, but finding the right house shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Fuckin... stupid... cards. And she couldn't get lunch. Wandering around near the cathedral, Helena kept looking at the card, trying to figure out where the hell she was going. If nothing else she needed some money.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Circling the cathedral, Helena finally spots the sign of an inn that has a bull on it, and from there she gets into a shadowy alley that ends into a solid steel door on a two-story building, with a pair of murder-holes peering down at her. According to the card, she's supposed to knock once, then thrice, then once. As she does so, the door slowly opens inwards, revealing a grey-garbed man with a scar just above his eye, who blinks in surprise and takes a second look at Helena and her clothes before speaking. "Good afternoon, my lady. Are you looking to hire?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Finally finding what she was looking for, which took far more fucking work then she liked, she crankily stomped down the alley grumbling until she reached the door, and then did the secret clubhouse knock. Which honestly annoyed her even more.

Seeing the man, she felt her mood soften again as he did a doubletake at her, and she grinned, licking her lips for a moment. Hire? God no, I don't have any money. I was invited here she said, holding up the card.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The man seems to consider this for a moment. "Come in." Closing the door after, he lets Helena into a large room with several tables surrounded by chairs, lit by oil lamps hanging from the ceiling. There are stairs in the right side of the room, and two more doors, one below the stairs and the other at the back wall. The room is clean, but everything is showing signs of wear and tear. "You'd better wait upstairs. The boss will want to talk with you." Leading on, he takes Helena into upstairs and to an office that's significantly better furnished than the entrance hall. "Would you like some tea?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Following the man, Helena raised an eyebrow and headed upstairs. APPARENTLY the boss wanted to meet her. But when she was offered Tea she sighed. As nice as that sounds, if you're going to be showing ME hospitality, we need to be wearing less clothing and we might make a bit of a mess. she said, smiling.

If he insisted on Tea however instead of a quickie, she'd take it.
