The vampire lets out a surprised grunt as the bolts hit her, but she can't stop her momentum, so her body hits Helena hard, driving the dagger deep into her shoulder.

Helena howls in pain before ducking low and launching another bolt of flame at the vampire, She had sworn on her life, she would pay with it!

Helena's bolt goes awry, but she manages to dodge the vampire as well. After several more attempts, the vampire is hit by a bolt straight to her face and collapses, apparently lifeless.

Helena doesn't stop, panting and bleeding she continues to throw bolt after bolt at the apparent corpse, not stopping until nothing remained but a pile of ash and bone...

"why... Why...Why!........WHY!?" Each bolt was heralded by another shriek as tears began to roll down her face for Aren and her own mistake, a mistake she would never make again...

The vampire resists fire quite well, but finally lights into a bright flame. Helena doesn't even notice Jasmine before she lays a hand on her shoulder before pulling her into a hug.

Helena slams into the embrace sobbing, going limp between exhaustion and injury, not even have the energy to talk anymore let alone try and explain or justify anything. At least Aren had been avenged, not properly, but there was one less monster in these mountains to claim another life, and Aren would have liked that.

Helena is dimly aware that Jasmine picks her up and carries her back to the camp. Still without saying anything, she lies Helena on her mattress and holds her close. If Helena could see her eyes, she could see tears in them as they looks somewhere very far away.

Helena just clung to Jasmine for all she was worth, which wasn't much at the moment and as she was layed down and held on the mattress she immediately passed out, to drained to do anything else except cry softly in her sleep and toss as thoughts of Aren and her nightmares tormented her in her dreams...

When Helena wakes up Jasmine is still holding her, and she looks like she hasn't slept. When everyone gets up, there is a silence hanging over the camp that is affecting even Strike and Red. Jasmine stays close to Helena as the other guides start digging a grave.

Helena moves over to the other guides and wordlessly starts to help, with her bare hands and a shovel. Aren hadn't liked magic, so she wouldn't use it for his grave, no, just sweat and blood and tears, and all three ran into the grave with every motion. If the other guides tried to move her away then a demons withering stare would be their answer...

The guides let Helena help them, and it takes over an hour to dig the grave into the rocky ground. When it's done, the guides reveal Aren's naked body from under a white cloth and lie it at the bottom with as much care as possible. After several more minutes, they finally tear their eyes off of their companion and get out, starting to fill the grave.

Helena just keeps working, softly singing the entire time. This was her fault, she owed him nothing less, she would never trust like that again and Vampires would learn to fear her specifically, none of their kind would ever be safe if she found them. After the grave had been filled in Helena walked over and stood beside Jasmine quietly, not really sure what to do...

The guides set a brisk pace, and no-one seems to be in the mood to complain about it. The sun has already set when the village comes to view, and they spend two hours walking down the road in darkness, Ginny especially stumbling many times. Though hunger pangs Helena's stomach, the food served isn't really to her taste and she finds herself eating only a little. Jasmine looks a little worried, but not even the usually so confident succubus dares to break the silence surrounding Helena.

Helena is painfully conflicted concerning everything, and rather then flipping out in front of everybody she excuses herself and goes to her room before launching herself from her window, rocketing into the sky and screaming at the stars. She could tell herself anything she wanted but she knew it was her mistake and her fault and nothing would ever change it. She would carry the weight for as long as she was breathing, for Aren. Her mood far from improved Helena hits her windowsill like a bomb and throws herself into bed, hoping sleep would be a little more forgiving...

As Helena is falling asleep, a now-familiar pop-up appears: "You have been playing for almost three hours, which is the recommended limit. Save and quit Y/N?"

Y. Probably wasn't the best Idea to push her luck, everything in the EGG was so real right up until that notice came up and reality came snapping back to her. It was total immersion, and it was spectacular...

The same man as the first time is waiting for Helena as she comes back to the real world through the void as usual. "Hello again Helena. How's your game going?"

Helena, still in a daze from the depth of recent events takes awhile to answer, the adjustment back to reality a little more difficult. Remembering it was all just a game she tossed on a smile. "Great, truly spectacular. Thank you" Carefully stepping out of the machine she stretched and yawned.

"not really" Helena said, continuing to stretch and twist, God she was stiff. Waving a short goodbye Helena headed over the the cafeteria for a quick bite, as she was always hungry exiting the Egg and wondered if heading home to come back was the best idea. She found herself constantly drawn back to the story, she could never have enough. It seemed the sheer immersion of the Egg was slightly addictive. The scary part was that she didn't care, not really.
