The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Jasmine: hits and destroys the ghoul
Helena: 1/15 Jasmine: 39/47 Cindy: 11/11

As Helena takes to air, Jasmine shoots a bolt of fire at the ghoul, causing it to fall down like its companion. As the ghoul falls, both Jasmine and Cindy start running towards the forest, abandoning the drivers like Helena did. The remaining ghouls pay little attention to them.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena wants to stay and help the drivers, she really does, but she isn't about to abandon her friends either. Swooping down lower, Helena followed them, eyes darting around and looking for more threats as they moved, not wanting her friends on the ground to be ambushed while they ran.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Flying low, Helena sees several boars nearby, but not in Jasmine's route. The pair keeps running for several minutes before slowing down, panting.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena lands nearby, but stays just as she is, wings out and eyes open, blood running from the wound in her chest slowly. "Jasmine. Our luck is fucking Terrible." Helena says spitting on the ground and pressing at her chest. "So what do we do now? Wait for mister valiant knight to come by and travel with him?"

Helena was drawing breath through clenched teeth after that statement, the wound burning with pain. She would need to learn that little healing trick from Jasmine when she had a chance, she would need to relearn most of her old spell list she realized even more annoyed at the prospect.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Jasmine nods, more focused inwards. As Helena is speaking, she chants a spell, healing the wound in her arm. Then she does the same to Helena, twice. "The ghouls probably won't stay there for long. We might be able to get some equipment back if we sneak back to the caravan after they're gone. And it shouldn't be too long to the city, as long as we don't get ambushed by more things."

Cindy stays quiet, sheathing her dagger back to its hiding place in her clothes and looking around.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Thanks Jasmine, that was really starting to hurt, you'll have to teach me that later. And hopefully they'll leave. I'll head back that way and stay high, and bring some gear back when it's safe. You guys just wait here for now."

Helena hoped Jasmine wouldn't argue, Jasmine was the obvious choice to look after Cindy if something went wrong here and they could stay in contact with each other so the odds of them actually getting separated were slim to none.

Taking off again, Helena headed back in the direction of the Caravan, on her own she could bombard them from the air if they hadn't left and let the others know when it was clear.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena can see the ghouls leaving the caravan, carrying the no doubt dead or dying forms of the drivers with them. The horses have been slain, too, their corpses left where they fell. Otherwise, the caravan seems mostly intact.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena waits until she's sure they're gone before landing in their wagon and collecting their gear. Shouldering it, she looked around for anything else that could prove useful, be it coin or any weaponry that looked promising, as well as food, before making her way back with what she could carry.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

There would probably be quite a bit of useful things in the wagons, were Helena to search them. As she gathers the trio's gear, Strike emerges from the last wagon, apparently in a foul mood.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Seeing Strike emerge, Helena rushed over to make sure the Spider was okay before laughing at her hiding spot, Right under everyone's noses. She'd have to remember to have Cindy egged at some point... Kissing the Spider on the head, Helena decided it would be better if Jasmine and Cindy just came back and helped her rummage through the Caravan rather then do it herself and try to carry everything like an idiot. Besides, Strike wouldn't be able to keep up with her and Helena didn't want to leave her alone if there were ghouls in the area.

*Its alright now, and the Caravan is mostly intact. They took all the men though...*

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Alright, we'll be there soon.*

Strike glomps Helena, her mood quickly getting better. It would be perhaps 10 minutes before Jasmine and Cindy come back, starting to help Helena search the wagons.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"I missed you too you big 8 legged goof!" Helena said laughing, extricating herself from the hug and waiting for the others, gently stroking the spider's head as she sat on the edge of one of the wagons. On a whim, she reverted completely to her true form, tail, horns, and all. When they arrived, they would see her going over it all smiling before she put it all away and helped them dig through the wagons. She was still fixated on finding a bow and arrows, but it didn't really matter at this point, anything useful would be nice.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The wagons are packed with pelts, food and simple crafts; all of little value if they have to be carried by hand. The drivers also have a number of tools, each of them carrying at least a wood axe and a sharp knife, along with other carpenter tools, no doubt to fix the wagons should something break down. There are also a few valuables in small chests, but most of the drivers probably had their purses on their persons. There's also a small selection of weapons, including a shortbow and two dozen arrows as well as some javelins. Cindy picks up a short sword, putting it on her belt.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena packs all the valuables away and snags the bow and arrows as well as the Javelin, slinging them across her back after putting a shirt on and tucking her wings away, these were a great deal better then what she had been using and would give her an option that didn't involve her power, which was a plus given how people here tended to react to magic.

"Alright then, we have some gear, the drivers are all gone and the horses are dead, on foot?" Helena asked the other two curiously.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Cindy nods, picking up some daggers herself. "I want to get well away from here before we stop to eat lunch."

Jasmine doesn't take anything, apparently content to rely on her powers.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena nods and heads off down the road, assuming they were just going to continue in the same direction. "Well, lets go then" She said, keeping a Javelin in her hand and ready to use just in case.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The cloud cover has been whisked away by the howling wings, and the sun is burning in the sky, heating the air as midday gets closer. Jasmine and Cindy walk alongside Helena, with Strike scuttling after them.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena decides she's just going to explain Strike's presence from now on rather then trying to hide her and to hell with the consequences. Surely a familiar wasn't that unheard of. Walking along, Helena started singing as always to try and lighten the mood a bit and shorten the trip.

*How many days were left on this trip before?* Helena asked Jasmine, not even breaking her song.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*I think we should arrive tomorrow.* Jasmine answers, joining the song.

After a couple hours, they arrive to a roadside inn. "Should we stop? We're not going to make it there today, anyway."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Food, Beds, You're damn right we're stopping. Jasmine, you had coin before, can we cover the rent for a night do you think?" Helena asked curiously, stepping off the road and towards the Inn.
