The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Charlie stares at Helena for a moment before tossing the coffee to Helena and gathering some supplies. "Up to the mountains then, I think. I'll follow your lead." he says before transforming into a giant bat again.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena caught the bag with one hand and shot straight back into the air. She didn't like being on the ground and she circled, her mind spreading like a radar signal to find anywhere that was empty of threats, and in this place she'd already learned that anywhere that seemed empty, wasn't. She sought out the squirrels and other little creatures that would run from the nastier threats instead, looking for a cave since they were in the mountains.

There had to be something here. She couldn't have Charlie cooking in the sun, if she did Azalin would have her asshole right where he wanted it, he was expecting her to fail and die anyway, now she Had to succeed just to shove it in his prick face, and Jasmine's To! That lazy bitch! What had she done to try and get them out of this place? Nothing! That's what. Cindy to, lazy fucking parasite rogue cunt. Fuck them all.

when she found one, she'd snap her wings shut and dive into it, hurling fire ahead of her just in case before slipping into a shadow between a bunch of rocks letting her keep her back to a solid rock wall, glaring out of her little alcove towards the entrance.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena soon finds a small cave that appears uninhabited. Charlie circles around, waiting for Helena to search it before landing and changing shape. Using the supplies he took from the camp, he soon has a pot of water on a small fire as he gathers more of the sparse vegetation to feed the flames.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena continued to look out. her tiny moment of clarity had reminded her to TRY and trust Charlie no matter what, he was the only help she had right now and she still felt weak from her show earlier. She also felt slower, uglier, and more likely to burn things. Charlie was making coffee, that was enough.

Her Gaze never left the cave entrance and her ears and other senses stayed highly tuned, ears and eyes and even nose open for threats. it would take plenty of time to convince her the cave she'd found was safe enough to deal, though when he started building a fire, Helena set her stuff aside and moved over, slowly, cautiously, before letting her hand light up with flames. There's no actual limit to how much fire I can produce. Spare the plants. she said, setting her hand on the ground and letting it burn.

So, Why do you do this job for Azalin. she asked him, jumping at any sound slightly and turning her head swiftly.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Power." Charlie replies simply, careful not to make any sudden moves. "Being part of Kargat means I get to do things my way, and few people will try to kill me or give me any lip." With Helena's help, the water soon reaches its boiling point, starting to foam slightly.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

I see. you're not the only one then. Unlike you he has hostages for me. Charlie. I normally wouldn't tell anyone this. But I need to trust you. I NEED it right now. When I feed I can do it lightly, or fully. I need to feed fully to gain any real power. I promised Azalin I wouldn't do it in his realm overmuch but we're not in his realm and I need to. What I said earlier is true, it causes madness, I don't know for how long, usually to my limited experience it's a few hours. This feels worse then usual. I'm never eating goat herder again. Don't take anything I say or do personally she said, slowly relaxing around Charlie as the water started to boil.

Never thought I'd be in this situation, needing to trust a vampire on an emotional level. But here we are working a job together. she sighed, closing her eyes for a moment before wondering about the coffee. At least you found coffee. lords above in my own home... it's so common that every house has a pot powered by electricity to make 12 cups of it every morning.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Charlie nods thoughtfully. "I think we should find some sort of a healer, though gods alone know what kind of magic it will take to cure someone like you." Taking the coffee, Charlie quickly grounds some and adds it to the water.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

I have no idea, any healing we've needed we've done ourselves. but it's pretty limited. Alot of the shit I do can't be healed but if I can't keep my head straight I'm gonna cock this all up. she sighed, breathing deep as the smell of the coffee started to rise up into the cave.

I read that book Azalin gave me, you have fiends, demons here, but what they can do, and what I can do are different, so I doubt anything there will be helpful. But 3 is enough to keep me full for awhile if I keep the magic to a minimum. So... one thing at a time I think. There was this black elf priestess I met back in Darkon who was pretty nice. But she's miles away, and you be nice to that little group, they have tastes I approve of. A little crime is a good thing. Helena said, just talking really to keep herself mellow, focusing on the coffee as the initial panic of PARANOIA slid away to simply being more high strung.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"I can probably find one who is closer, but we will need to go back to Darkon." Charlie says, retreating further into the cave as the eastern sky starts growing lighter.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Can we afford that setback? We might have to, if I go completely fucking nuts then we're hosed anyway. Helena said, holding the pot herself in her flame wreathed hand and moving with him away from the cave entrance safer into the shadows.

Funny thing is, Azalin wanted to know more about us. Charlie, I'm in my twenties, literally. I'm young by a human's standards let alone a demons or anything else. I love what I am but it's so frustrating at times. Jasmine tries to teach me a lot but she takes such a passive approach to everything. I've learned more by leaping before I look lately. Maybe I can learn whatever magic the priest we find knows and spare us further trips like this. she muttered, wondering. It would be a good spell or set of spells to have.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Well, I'm going to sleep. We'll figure out what to do in the evening, if you're still feeling out of your mind." Charlie says, curling up on bare stone, apparently not bothered by the lack of comfort.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Yup. I'm on watch. Helena said, seeing the coffee was allll for her. And she sat there, and drank coffee in a gave, bodyguarding a vampire religiously, while twitching and sucking softly on a pot of coffee at scalding temperature and murdering anything that approached the cave violently.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena: 24/24 mana, 1 points of con damage 6 points of intelligence damage*, 2 points of wisdom damage*, 5 points of charisma damage* suffering from paranoia

Despite the coffee, Helena eventually doses off, her troubled mind practically demanding the rest. When she wakes up, it's already mid-afternoon, and she has somehow drank all the coffee Charlie made.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Waking up around mid afternoon, Helena took note of that while she needed Less sleep, No sleep wouldn't fly forever. Yawning and seeing the empty pot, Helena glared around looking for coffee stealing gnomes...

Seeing none, she made some more, just a cup, waiting for the sun to go down while she thought about how the entire world was out to get her.

Sad thing was in this place, it actually was. Was she insane? or just super sane.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena can feel her collar glowing slightly as the magic struggles to keep her insanity in check. The time passes slowly, but eventually sun sets and Charlie immediately wakes up. "Good evening. How are you feeling?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena is unusually grateful for her collar, which she already loved cos it was shiny and silver and a collar. But now it was special, because it was keeping her brain from starting a civil war with her tits while her pussy was planning a sneak attack from behind and her ass was preparing for a siege from it's close by and devious neighbor. Oftentimes having to take attacks in it's life meant for it's border sharing treaty holding ally.

Her ass continued to wonder why it was placed here in this place and thought mayhaps god was a cruel child.

Seeing Charlie, Helena heated up the pot again and offered. Like a crazy basket case with an enchanted 2 pound silver collar keeping my mind in one piece? she said, before continuing Also yes, welcome back to the world of the living. My asshole thinks life is unfair because of it's proximity to my vagina. Dreams are better then reality.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Charlie nods. "Let's head back over the border, then. We should be able to make it back Malanuv tonight, since we haven't really gotten far in the past two days." Moving to sit across from Helena, he takes the offered cup, sipping from it occasionally.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena smiles despite herself and nods. Then we can get back to work. I wonder if there's a way to simply become immune to insanity. Wouldn't that be lovely. Or maybe a tiny cleric we could just carry around in my pocket. Seriously, it's a major bullshit downside to being a demon i've found. Everything else I see heals when it feeds. Not us, we just go batshit. That said....we're immortal with no real drawbacks other then the one, fire proof, cold proof, and if we feed.... and our prey isn't stupid and lazy and herding GOATS. It's very pleasurable for both parties involved. had to be a downside somewhere. Seriously, I can even be you. she said, shifting into a picture perfect copy of Charlie, save she was naked, and a he, for a moment, before shifting back.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"That's a nice trick." Charlie comments. Finishing his coffee, Charlie starts gathering the stolen supplies. "Let's go see if we can find a cleric, shall we?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Really, I think it's useful, but... I get worried some times. Like here, this is what I looked like as a human. But I worry I'll forget which body is mine after a time. Helena said, shifting back into the blonde woman back on the space station so long ago, giving charlie a sad smile, blushing, like she was revealing something very private. She wasn't overly sexy, not the creature that she'd become, just a fun loving little book worm for a moment.

It lasted for all of 30 seconds before Helena shifted back to what she preferred to be with a few alterations, being vain came with the territory and she liked to play.

By the end of her fiddling as Charlie collected things, she stood on raised heels, the gait natural, a long tail with a cute little spade curling around, and her wings resting behind her. Her body was curvy and begging to be touched and her skin had shifted to a lustful red shade from head to toe. Her hair was still that rediculous bubblegum pink and her nails were more like short sharp claws. Her horns she bothered to grow out a bit, letting them sweep back along her temples and curl upwards at the tips slightly, like a ridged bone coronet and she looked herself over before settling on an eye color, an unnatural violet shade that shimmered in the light.

She didn't ask Charlie what he thought, hoping he'd just volunteer, she was showing off for him to be nice, maybe she wanted another friend. She needed another ally out here that was certain. But when they were ready to go she bundled up everything to be carried and tossed it over her shoulder, taking to the air and following Charlie.
