Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

Rolls
Attacks: Hit with weapon and shield bash.
Damage: 8 + 9 + 1 - 1 + 26 = 43 damage.
Damage (Shield Bash) : Don't have to. That last attack more than killed it.

The tentacled creature didn't even notice the armored giantess as she stalked up behind it, so busy was it trying to pry the door from its hinges and get at whoever was on the other side. Rage untainted by any controlling influence caused Zaro to jab her weapon forward into the creature, every pound of her weight, and every ounce of her strength driving the naginata through the soft, slimy body and into the door behind it. There was seemingly some sort of metal within the door, because Zaro heard her weapon striking against it as it penetrated the wooden barrier, but the engineered giantess barely recognized it. Also unnoticed was the slight cry as her blade pierced through the door, followed by total silence.

With her target now quite literally nailed to the wall, and already spasming wildly in its death throes from being impaled, Zaro had plenty of time to aim her next assault upon it. Releasing her weapon and allowing it to hang from the half smashed doorway, she hurled herself into her shield, once more putting everything that the incredibly powerful creature could muster into the blow. She fell upon the tentacled creature and crushed it into jelly, the thing tearing free of her naginata only to be crushed underneath her weight. A sickening squirting sound accompanied the crushing of the creature, as well as release of copious amounts of grey and white liquid. All in all, slaying the thing took about three seconds, and by the end of it, the monster was a puddle of grey, slimy semi-solid gunk.

She was once more left alone in her mistresses former home. Former mistress, actually. A pained whimpering issued forth from the impaled door, followed by a very hesitant; "Hello?" It was a young girl's voice, very frightened and very weak. There was hope, and fear mixed amid the pain that even Zaro could recognize in it.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

Her status is raeg, and I would like to know/for you to add the shield bash damage, if only for giggles about the overkill.

The stupid thing didn't even detect the giantess approach, and that alone ensured the beast was to die a quick and messy death by her hands, or more precisely, being literally impaled against the very door it sought to break through and utterly crushed into what could only be lightly described as 'soup'. The act of doing this to n invader felt far too good to be normal, and the unusual, predatory sensation of pleasure as she indeed stabbed the beast was unique, sating the neglected desire to hunt and kill. Perhaps smashing the tentacle mass with the shield was over-kill, alas, it was better to utterly destroy a foe and be sure of victory, then to merely wound it and believe the target to be dead.

So she obliterated it with little in the way of artificially enforced self-restraint, the cold, measured personality of the Guardian was gone and pushed aside in her first moment of glory, whilst possessing a measure of free will in the matter.

The noises that emitted through the other side of the door tickled her long, pointed ears, and the Draconic female hissed quietly in response to the tentative and weak greetings, bringing her back to reality from the high of the savage kill and so she rose from the crouched stance, sliding the shield off of the bloodied floor and stood tall, recalling this posture from mere hours ago before that floating abomination inadvertently freed her. The mere thought of that gray commanding beast elicited a silent snarl, which was restrained with some effort.

The voice was young, female, and very scared, and Zaro did understand the emotions, if with a lack of experience, as she worked her jaws to warm up the uncommonly used vocal chords, hoping to give the hidden female some assurance - that was this empathy at work, she was sure.

Her voice didn't come out as she wished, the years of general and stoic silence made speaking a odd, dignifying process. 'Twas guttural and growling with feminine undertones unique to the 'fairer gender', something about being more beautiful then men, as Narissa had boasted once. However she at least managed to sound a little soothing. Pale yellow, slitted optics glinted from under the dragon-head armor as she tilted her crainium, reach out hesitantly...

...And worked to open the door with a little more dignity then the tentacle monster - no alien had yet shown a door much respect, so the girl inside should know it was her savior who wished to approach her, out of a aimless emotion, to protect, it seemed. She was somewhat proud about her voice being comprehendable, at least, however strange it was to speak

The whimpering from behind the door ceased as Zaro issued her savage growl that the memories of the creature who had taken her mistress elicited. It remained that way, even as she softened her growl in what she seemed to think was a reassuring sound. After removing her weapon from the door, which took some doing all things considered, Zaro found the bladed end of it stained with blood. The grey creatures as yet hadn't bled, not even a drop of anything that wasn't just as grey and slimy as they were, and so the red on her weapon could only have come from someone on the other side of the door.

The damaged portal opened with relative ease, even under her more ginger ministrations. It hadn't been locked, and also hadn't been damaged enough to cause any blockage, so it opened with only moderate creaking. Inside, there was a dark closet, but the engineered demoness had little trouble seeing the young girl curled up in the corner. She was clutching at her shoulder and staring with wide eyes at her from a pile of rags, where she apparently thought she was hidden from view. Her blood had stained some of her coverings, and a fresh wound was leaking steadily from her arm. As she realized that Zaro could see her quite easily, she whimpered and tried to back away, but as she was already backed into a corner, there was no place for her to go.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

(Note to self, in the future, when hearing a young, terrified voice, do not stick a giant blade through the door. It is not a good idea.)

With the socially inexperienced attempt at reassuring the young female that her life was not about to end in a horrible manner issued, Zaro retracted the blade with a little wiggling, only to notice via scents first then the visual image of blood staining the tip of her naginata - not from the beasts, no, their blood was more or less just gray goop, whereas this was definably crimson, the choice colour belonging to humanoids... Which wrought a little guilt in the gientess, who then clenched her gauntlets a little at the idea of accidentally stabbing the same creature she had made all this effort to save.

That did not settle well in the female's stomach, hardly helped by the sight that greeted her upon opening the blood coated and pierced door - a pathetic sight of a small girl hiding in rags, bleeding from the shoulder, or so her nose and eyes told her. The girl had very wide eyes, the scent of pain and fear radiating from her without restraint as she whimpered and huddled under the rags in the corner, as though she felt she could hide from augmented eyes. Feeling strange emotions, Zaro hesitantly lowered herself to appear somewhat less threatening, physically acting in a similar way she would have done for the Mistress, parroting memories into present actions to hopefully calm down the female and... do what? She did not know, and merely improvised now.

She managed to croon a more assuring noise out, putting aside the very combined weapon that had inadvertently hurt the girl, apologizing was not natural, and not knowing what else to do, merely awaited the girl's approach, however long it took for her to move towards the crouched giant's form, bright yellow optics softening in empathy, curious and confused yet trying to do what she felt was... correct.

The girl remained huddled in the corner, staring at Zaro in abject terror for several more moments as the engineered creature tried to croon at her in a more reassuring manner. She was hardly the image of peace, given her utter lack of anything resembling humanity, but after a while, a hint of curiosity appeared on the young face. The young girl clearly knew she had been discovered, but whatever it was wasn't coming for her, even though she had been cornered and injured.

Hesitantly, she removed the rags she had tried to hide under, and said; "He... Hello? What... Who are you?" Her voice was tiny and low, and Zaro could practically taste the fear in it, but she was at least speaking. Though, what the engineered demon-dragon intended to do with the little girl....

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

(She will consume the child's delicious soul!)

Diplomacy was not part of her skill set; it was usually when she was asked to reach for the combi weapon or javelins in order to either physically quell a fool that provoked the missing Mistress or to permanently lay such a creature to sleep. Dealing with children or any young person was something of a rare occasion, especially on non-violent terms. All that, along with the lack of social skills, had the beastly giantess tilt her head to stare at the smaller female, looking akin to a child from the size difference, then again many people looked small to her.

Frowning ever so slightly when the girl began quietly talking with such fear, driven by curiousity and perhaps realizing Zaro would not hurt her... well, anymore then accidently before, the giantess huffed and crooned a reassuring noise out again, working her strong jaws for several very long seconds. "...Protector." The word tumbled from her maw in a very guttural way, feminine in origin and tempered with a slight hoarseness from lack of use. "Protector of the home." The massive female's voice resounded further then intended, felt as much as it was heard, and added as though to clarify, hunch spine relaxing as the girl seemed capable of not fainting, so far. Not surprising in the situation where fear and adrenaline was easily achieved.

The tiny human flinched as the engineered creature's voice rolled out from her mouth, but she seemed relieved by the words themselves, even taking a hesitant step toward Zaro. She still held her hand to her shoulder, which still had a slow flow of blood coming from the wound that Zaro had accidentally inflicted upon her, and she was clearly in pain still from it despite the fear running through her. "Protector? Of the house? Are you... Are you the dragon that lives here? I heard that.. That this place was protected by a dragon, and... And if anything could keep the monsters away, it would be a dragon!" She said, her voice hopeful. Judging by how easy the creature that had trapped her in here had been to dispatch, it seemed unlikely that this little girl could protect herself.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

(Hmm, can I haz moar detail of the girl? Features, age, height, derp.)

With the untrained skill of empathy finally finding employment to a female other then the absent Mistress, the pang of guilt for not having the Lady herself shook the Giantess' slightly, but her concentration was upon this small human girl, the sharp and pale sandy yellow eyes scanning and studying every part of her, seeking to define who and what the fearful being was. This was part of the formerly and purely tactical awareness, carried over and put to good use as the girl flinched and hesitantly rising to step forwards. Despite the reluctance, she began showing her optimism, a transformation from the little thing under some rags.

Zaro of course remained still, having already faced down greater odds, a single female was of little intimidation, and she listened very quietly and intently to the girl speak with a shake in her voice, borne of understandable fear. Unfamiliar with children or any one with her personality, the engineered Dragon-Demoness tilted her helmeted head and huffed quietly and thoughtfully, many sensations both new and old conflicting, making this relatively simple task rather difficult at times. "Yes, I am her." She responded and slowly rose, deciding to see if the girl was going to walk out by her own powers, empathy not reaching much farther then this - the wound on her shoulder, however, would need tending to in some way, its mere existence distracting the engineered Dragoness with a little... guilt? That would be the proper emotion. "What were you doing here, when they came?" She intoned curiously, relaxing somewhat, yet gazing over the room and the doorway she had come in from, moving aside to let the girl out. Yes, she would give aid to the wound, but making sure to have some trust from her should be a priority, and it also distracted herself from the torrent of emotion that boiled without any artificial means of restraint.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

The girl came closer and into the light, allowing Zaro to get a better look at her. She was only about five and a half feet tall, and was as thin as a rail. She was only just developing her figure, and looked like she wouldn't be getting much of it even once it had all filled in. The blood running down her arm stained her dirty, shoddy clothing, and she was covered in filth that looked like it hadn't been acquired very recently. Her dirty brown hair fell in unruly tangles down to her shoulders. All in all, the human girl, who probably wasn't much older than 16 to 18, looked more or less like one of the commoners that her mistress had always looked down on.

The girl took a step back as Zaro rose back to her full height, but she answered the question; "I... I wasn't in here when the monsters came. I was... Begging, in the market, when that thing appeared in the sky. I ran and hid, and just... Well, eventually I saw this place, and it looked so big, I thought that there might be someplace for me to hide where they wouldn't find me. It seemed like a good place to hide so...."

When Zaro moved out of the way, the girl hesitated for a moment, but then walked out of the closet. The doorway that Zaro had entered and the hallways that they were in were both empty, the decorations that had once covered the walls mostly smashed or tossed aside randomly and for no apparent reason. The girl looked up at Zaro, fear still the only emotion visible on her face, as she said; "My name is Maggie. What's yours?"

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

Studying her much lighter opposite, the massive Demonic woman recorded what she could to memory. The girl was obviously one of the commoners that Narissa felt were inferior to herself, and perhaps the Giantess too. She was thin, perhaps malnourished, very young and weak, with a poor attire and unkempt hair that was crusted with dirt. Light of skin tone and dark of hair, she was unhealthy and neglected, thus what empathy Zaro possessed wanted to help her, however the relative lack of useful experience posed no threat of being useful.

With herself removed from the confined, musty space of the un-inviting wardrobe or whatever it was, the engineered Demoness blinked at the girl's response, pity brewing in that heart of hers, however sealed away by doctrine and experience it was. Reality seemed to have a way of quickly and drastically adjusting her life, for not long ago emotions such as these were very far and few between, weak and easily forgotten. Now it was a constant, if easing, battle to remain stoic and calm.

The girl had been outside, begging and hid in here, comforted by the scale of the strong mansion, which was understandable, actually, but the girl had failed to be discreet enough, of course. It was then she asked that question - a simple one, but one rarely needed or wanted. Twitching slightly and shifting away, the giant female emitted a metallic-coated hiss at the damaged surroundings, indignation mixed in with primal emotions making her feel... queasy. "My name? Zaro. Come, girl... Maggie... come with me - to see to your wounds." Came the guttural, feminine words wrapped up in clipped tones, flowing in ways she found difficult to maintain, after all... speaking so much or at all was not a prioity in life... at least, until now.

Thus, using the power of recollection, she wished to lead the girl to one of many rooms that held equipment or supplies for use of healing, and perhaps to clean her... never-mind the destruction all around them or the fate of the world. First things first.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

Maggie flinched again as Zaro hissed, probably not realizing the inspiration of the displeased sound, and nodded silently in response to the engineered demon's clipped response. The girl stuck by her side closely as Zaro headed down the hallway, but remained surprisingly quiet, as though she was practiced in remaining undetected. Not an entirely unlikely proposition given her status as a peasant.

Narissa hadn't kept many supplies for healing on hand. Being an accomplished sorceress, she could heal in seconds what more mundane arts would take weeks to restore. As such, she had scoffed at the more menial tasks, and had only relented and had a few stocks of simple bandages and the like placed throughout the house when one of her servants had been injured, and the dragoness had been unwilling to waste the energy to heal them. Zaro hadn't exactly been privy to where they were, unfortunately, so it took her a while to get to the only one that she remembered, the one in the kitchens. It was a long walk, but they encountered none of the invaders on the way there, and Maggie, small and injured though she was, kept up gamely to the armored monster.

As she approached the doors into the kitchen, coming from a massive dining hall with a huge table and a great many chairs, Zaro heard movement come form the doors beyond. The sound of crashing pans sounded out a second or so later, and then silence. A glance behind her revealed that Maggie was half covered in her own blood, and that she was both extremely pale and visibly in pain. It was difficult for Zaro to guess really, but she guessed that the little human would be in serious danger if she kept bleeding like she was.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

Knowing that her former unkind Mistress kept only the bare minimal of conventional medical equipment and supplies, the Giantess headed towards the kitchens where the servants prepared the meals for the Lady herself and for themselves... thus it used to be a hub of activity, where she did know of at least a small cabinet or wooden case where the aforementioned materials resided, perhaps un-used due to the suddenness of the alien assault, or completely non-existent due to rapid use... because of the alien assault. However morbid such a hope was, she did prefer the former - for it would at least allowing the survivors supplies that the dead would otherwise waste. Very soon after leaving the little side room, Zaro had quietly picked the girl up and carried her throughout the long walk, shield strapped to one heavy arm and the combi-weapon folded up and placed across her battered spinal plates.

Of course another problem arose; Maggie was bleeding, and neither the girl nor the Giantess herself knew much in the way of medical treatment, or so she assumed of the peasant, and the bleeding was serious enough to warrant concern from even the coolest of hearts. En-route to the well-equipped kitchens Zaro did pay some quick but heart-felt tribute in the form of briefly stopping to stoop down and gingerly touch the head of one formerly grand golden Dragon statue. It had been beautiful if austere, and now stricken from its stand lacked that strength and grace. She didn't take the broken idol - priories in this situation demanded with emotional weight, rather then purely by the disintegrated necklace, that she take care of Maggie's plight... if only to momentarily stave off that crushing sensation from being disconnected from the Mistress.

The second problem was encountered the moment the armored female quickly traversed the wrecked interior of the grand dining hall - the doors of the kitchen were closed and noises emitted from behind them, and with the conflict presumably draining all humanoid and alien manpower-based resources in and around the mansion and it's surroundings, there should be little reason for somebody to still remain. So who would still remain? The tentacled horrors did not understand how to properly use doors, that much was clear, so perhaps this thing had entered from a window or another forcibly opened door?

Or else it was a surviving humanoid... a looter or servant. Turning her armored skull towards Maggie, she grunted quietly and gently placed the girl onto a nearby bench, she returned to the door and adopted the defensive stance with a raised shield and bloodied combi-weapon, the sharp end sprung out and at the ready. No words were required, save for a low, metallic-tinged growl for the girl to stay away. If or when violence were to occur, civilians had no role to play unless they were cannon fodder for distracting purposes or safely absent.

Soon... Zaro called out a guttural warning to whomever was inside, emotional urgency winning over cold logic, and if whomever was inside failed to respond in the short silence that ensured... the Giantess would merely attempt to force an entry.

Status:

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

As she stared down upon the head of the statue, memories flooded uncontrollably through her mind. Memories of her time with her mistress, and of walking through this hall at her mistress's back, or standing at attention as she towered imposingly over her creator's guests.

Maggie sat quietly upon the bench after Zaro left her there. The human girl was pale and frightened and in pain, but her face glowed with faith as the powerful dragon-demon prepared to enter the kitchen. There was no response to her guttural growl, and a moment later, Zaro forced herself into the kitchen, her weapons at the ready. The doors parted easily at her touch, and she stepped into the wide but highly cluttered main kitchen of her mistress's mansion. There were several pans moving, inter-spaced throughout the area with little to no connection between any of them. After a moment, they had all stilled and gone silent, and the room before Zaro was utterly empty of motion.

There were six islands spread throughout the right side of the room, each of them with a set of pans and cooking tools hanging from above and sitting on the table. Each of them offered easy cover, and Zaro knew that in a drawer beneath the last of them lay the medical supplies that she had come here to find. Maggie wouldn't have much time, but Zaro knew that there might be danger in here, and this was the only place she knew of in the mansion that they might be able to gather some food. On the left side of the room was a single long counter, four wash basins spread evenly across it and her mistress's afternoon meal half prepared across part of it. The four doors to the pantries ran along the right wall, each of them closed and latched. On the far wall, directly across from where Zaro had entered, there was another door that led down into the wine cellar, which was open a crack. Finally, another door in the far left corner was the entrance that led outside, to the servants bathhouse.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

A surge of adrenaline coursed through her heightening pulse after she issued that bold challenge, and for a moment there was silence as the Giantess listened most intently, wishing to detect even the smallest of sounds of a possible intruder or survivor. However she also recalled the face of the girl that, despite her pain and fear held a sort of... faith in the Dragoness that her Mistress rarely showed, and the girl expressed this far more willingly. Perhaps the urgency sprung from her weakening body or from a personal desire to simply keep busy to stall the time where she would have to delve into her own mind and explore all the new emotions that attempted to invade the present, but it was also partly because of knowing whom actually inflicted the wound in the first place.

Huffing with annoyance, she forced herself into the room with but an easy nudge from the bloodied spear, and immediately set foot into the wide, very feature-heavy kitchen, scanned the entirety of the chambers and quickly noticed movement to the right; innocent looking pans that swayed side to side which denoted something had been here... of course, the furthest door on the opposite end of the main kitchen was slightly opened, hinting that whoever was in here had retreated in that route into the wine-cellar. Naturally Zaro's mind rapidly thought of what other ways to access the Wine-Celler, both from within the mansion and any possible routes out into the open via secret doors; it was hardly below the mansion's residents to use subtle means of travel, and perhaps survivors the residence, be they servants or otherwise, would use these side-tunnels and such.

With little hesitation the armored giant huffed then canted her helmed skull to one side, barking out to the girl in a wordless request that she move into the kitchen as Zaro surged forwards to cover the rest of the room, boldly jogging to the far end to see behind and around every last marble-topped island, before shutting both the wine-cellar door and the main double doors, to give them some warning some thing or body wished to gain access to the kitchen as they did whatever was needed. With haste Zaro set her shield and spear down against one of the islands and flung the drawers under the now-still pans, containing the necessities that were quickly tossed onto one of a few clear surfaces. Glancing over her self-appointed charge the engineered monster huffed and sought to encourage her to take a seat so any useful equipment could be applied whilst she hastily tore the gauntlets off, to wash her hands if necessary before going to aid the girl's wound.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

As far as Zaro could remember, the only entrance into the cellar lay here, within the kitchen itself. No secret passageways or hidden paths lay within the narrow racks of aging bottles that her mistress had ever made her aware of, at any rate. That meant that, if someone or something had gone down there, they were either still down in the cellar, or knew more about the mansion than Zaro herself did.

At her bark, there was a shifting sound, and a few moments later Maggie peaked her head out to glance into the kitchen. By the time she did so, Zaro had reached the cellar door and shut it, and had found the rest of the kitchen completely empty. Not a thing moved within the kitchens, other than a visibly trembling Maggie and the engineered dragoness herself. With the room more or less secured, as far as she could tell, Zaro found the physician's kit right where it had been left, still fully assembled and apparently unused.

Hesitantly, Maggie took a seat on the counter that Zaro had cleared, needing a bit of help to jump onto it and then waiting as Zaro removed her gauntlets and cleaned off her hands. The injured human looked with great concern at the clawed digits, but turned and allowed her to peel off the torn coverings that concealed her injury. The gash was short but deep, and still oozing a steady flow of half-congealed blood as Zaro examined it. She would need stitches, and soon, or she was going to bleed to death. There were sutures and a needle within the kit she had at her side, but their application would be painful, and Maggie was already weak to the point of swooning. Something for the pain, and perhaps something to eat or drink in order to replenish her strength wouldn't go amiss.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

With the kitchen secure and thus, by the recollection of the mansion's layout most relavent to her efforts, the only way in or out of the wine cellar, the Giantess began her lonely efforts to finally see to her much smaller counterpart's accumulated damage. However after surveying the wound inflicted by the engineered monster's own blade, the smallest twinge of... guilt flitted across her hardened features whilst she rapidly considered the options. Sadly enough the girl's only wound was from her, and not from the monsters or potential survivors... she was weak, hungry and in pain, thus it would be logical to deal with the pain first, let the girl rest or at least feel less agony, clense and stitch the deep cut up and then feed the girl - if she did not fall asleep from what Zaro hoped to be some sort of painkiller to be in the wooden case's supplies.

She only glanced at the girl's large and frightened eyes but tried not to stall just to gauge her feelings; compassion was mostly borne from her desire to protect the Mistress, and this girl, however expressive and vulnerable, did not elicit such powerful emotions, or that the giant female tried to block out the background sensations that wished to be felt and known.

Compassion was, however, sufficient enough to prevent the pragmatic female from simply working upon the weakened girl's body without some form of care, for she growled lightly, almost crooning gently to the patient, as she reached for what she assumed was the basic form of injectable painkiller. Of course she tested to make sure it was clean and worked, then measured the dosage based upon memories of what the Servants or Mistress may have suggested... naturally those measurements often were about her own massive form, so she halved that much and held the girl's wounded shoulder. Obviously she read the instructions and suggested amount rather then purely working upon half-reliable assumptions, then worked to inject it into a soft spot - aiming to deal with the agony first, healing a second priority then nourishment when the thin humaness was no longer in danger of death.

"Remain... Still, Mag-gie." The Dragonic woman enunciated quietly and deeply. Although inexperienced with things not relating to inflicting pain or death upon foolish aggressors, Zaro had nimble, careful fingers and a lack of irritating shake that often occurred to the others when they tried to stay absolutely still...

Perception: 1. Oh god, why? A 1!?

Maggie winced slightly at Zaro's roughly delivered words, but then nodded solemnly and remained still, allowing Zaro to inject her with the painkillers. She only winced slightly as the large needle penetrated her skin, and the engineered creature waited a moment for the medicine to kick in. When it did, the effect was far more dramatic than she would have liked. The tiny human girl's eyelids became heavy, and then dropped completely just before Maggie collapsed onto the table. Perhaps she hadn't accounted enough for the poor girl's size, or perhaps her loss of blood?

Regardless, Maggie was unconscious, and Zaro quickly stitched her wound closed while the girl was out. Her bleeding had been stopped, and a bandage placed over the wound, but now what to do? The kitchen was still clear, and Zaro hadn't heard any movement nearby in the time since she had entered.

Re: Zaro 'Alk (Dragontear)

Well that... wasn't too bad for a Roll of 1, I kind of expected Zaro to critically fail by stabbing Maggie in her eye with the needle... even though she was targeting the shoulder. XD At least she's not feeling pain now. ^^'

Holding the girl still with an loose hand upon her thin shoulder, the Giantess thrummed quietly as she set about administering the liquid that should ease the girl's pain, removing the needle and cleaning it for future use or just a habit, while preferably ensuring the undernourished girl could remain concious and thus able to tell if anything felt... odd or to consume and give herself strength later. However a complication most sublime occurred; instead of the aforementioned result most desired, Maggie instead slumped over to her flank and thus the engineered female gazed rather blankly but felt annoyed at such a miscalculation.

However - instead of mulling this over for too long, she instead made use of the time while her 'patient' was unconscious by first positioning the weak girl in as a comfortable manner as possible before looting and preparing what food the Dragoness could gather. She could wash the girl and cleanse her own body later, for now it was necessities first, and with a rudimentary knowledge of cooking, sought to make a fitting meal - nothing spectacular at all, some bread, vegetables, liquid nourishment and cooked meat on a plate or platter, seeking what might be easier to eat and whatever came to hand whilst all the time checking the girl breathed and that nothing else was amiss in the impromptu haven...

After cooking up simple meal with what was at hand, quite a bit considering where she was, Zaro returned to her charge. Maggie hadn't moved since she had slumped from the medicine, save for when Zaro had been administering her bandages and then putting her into a comfortable position. No matter how much Zaro poked or shook the girl, however, she did not awaken, and a check for her pulse found it extremely weak. She was barely breathing, and her heartbeat was dangerously slow as well.

(The damage on your armor just has it at 0 TP, not 0 DU.)
