Any idea how to actually leave the mansion? Even with the translation, I can't quite figure out how to access the tavern.

Upstairs, on the top floor, room on the left. Talk to the rich guy when working with Yuyuna, and he'll as you to go deliver some stuff to the town.

That won't let you access the tavern though: for that you need to wake up at night and try heading outside. Only in that case you'll get to enter the tavern.

Choose sleep (not work or rest) at the start of the day, waking up in the evening, you can leave the mansion.
Perhaps before that, you need to complete the task of the owner's wife at least once in order to visit the village.
