It was a great game but seems like it's no longer being worked on. That's a shame because I feel like there's a lot of things they could have improved upon.

I think Hentai High School is the big game that replaced it now but it still really lacks in content and has not been updated in probably 6 months or more.

HHS is very different though. Same school management theme, but very different gameplay.

Those are two entirely separate projects with little common ground (except for a similar setting and overlapping communities).
HHS+ has released a beta (1.07) on November 12th with significant engine updates. Further hotfixes were introduced in December.

I was involved with the project back in 1.04/1.05, those updates were quite necessary. The reason I am not anymore was that they tightened both content control and quality control of event coding (1to1 copies of already-in-the-game events were suddenly inacceptable).
As with any fan-made game, being a complainer about progress usually makes you look like a dork.

Yeah I did enjoy Ashford Academy more than HHS but I think some of the people that stopped working on it are now involved in HHS and development has stalled on both.

I'm not complaining, I love the games but I never saw the 1.07 update when I went on there last time. Also while the HHS devs are updating the framework it seems like no new events are ever added, a lot of people on the forums have tons of ideas for new events but the game really has had no new content that I can see for over a year. Its all been engine updates that are meant to make it easier to add events but no one ever seems to actually add any.

Its hard to have interest in it, for instance there are a lot of events already in HHS but I always have an almost impossible time trying to trigger the next step in an event. I spent at least a week trying to trigger this event for a loli where you are supposed to see her past and I only ever triggered the first part of it. That just made me want to drop the game since all that ever happened from then on was either me seducing people which lead to one sentence and no pictures or the normal events that show the same old pictures when you look around the school.

I wish more people would work on it. The engine itself is amazing. The foundation is there, there's just not enough people interested in it.

I've stated reasons why people (e.g. me) aren't interested in it anymore in my post above. It's a policy thing. They're not very flexible - I had ideas to tie some of the main plotlines (Hooter corruption, newspaper, hacking/computer science) together, but wasn't allowed to insert anything into long standing, canon storylines.

The question is - why are YOU guys not interested in it?

I'm very interested in it but I just feel that the events are all over the place and very hard to trigger. There are some very obvious things that they could add into the game while they are updating the framework but dont. Like im all in favor of a boyfriend/girlfriend system where it can turn into NTR or other things like a brothel on the school grounds to generate a daily income so that you dont have to wait a month of in game time to get a crappy amount of money.

I enjoyed HHS2, by aztec, A LOT.

When I head some people wanted to work on a sucessor-ish HHS+, I was very happy. When I actually played, I saw how different it was.

A lot of things were changed, and not for the better.

I guess that what I dislike the most is the whole movement thing. Time-events that we can only guess. Time-sensitive events are RNG.

It feels like HHS+ is a stepback from HH2.

I remember reading not long ago that the Dev is having some issues because some people from his life discovered the game and that he was working on it,
giving him quite a bit of headache, since he wanted to keep it hidden from family, friends and someone he was seeing.

He didn't make any announcement that he was dropping it, people are still modding the game there, so it is probably just a Hiatus.

Its sad that so many people act like sex in a video game is unforgivable, it causes issues like that where a dev may get found out and catch flak for it. I'm so glad that I can play these games with my wife across the room from me without her judging me. Of course she watches porn too so no room to talk there but still it would be nice if people stopped judging devs that dare add sex with full nudity into a game.

AA has stalled for the most part because what was mentioned above.

HHS+ is truly an amazing game if you figure out how the mechanics work in it. They update it every 2 months or so. They had to completely redo the code from what I read because everything was so spiderwebbed together it made it really hard to put new content into it, at least that is how I understand it. There are at least 20 people working on this game, adding events and smoothing it out as it goes. Probably the most dedicated group of people that are doing this for free in my opinion. I would say another year or so before this game feels more complete.

Oh and the update to the game is not on the front page. You have to go to the development area. They are currently on 1.07 with 2 hotfixes attached.

You can say it is dead.

Ashford wrote a message in the forum that he don´t make more often updates because family and so on and after this around 6-8 months he put the last version online. After this is over a year so I think it is dead.

Ashford have nothing to do with HHS+ so I don´t know why people discuss here a different game.
