Von Svarthein follows Natalie inside, and two guards hop onto the driver's seats, quickly getting the carriage rolling forward. The count looks out of the window as they get out of the castle, traveling towards the lake. During the several hours of travel, the count spends some time instructing Natalie of the proper protocol, and the trip is thankfully uneventful. The sun is already setting when they arrive at another castle, this one somewhat smaller and more stylized than the count's.

As the carriage rolls to stop in front of the doors, the count offers his hand to Natalie before stepping out, only to be greeted by a handsome, elderly man Natalie recognizes as the baron who is hosting the ball. "Ah, Count Viktor. It's been a long time."

"Indeed Brutus. A pleasure, as always."

Natalie changed into her dress inside of the carriage carefully before sitting down and paying close attention to what the count had to tell her. She was representing him here, after all, and it wouldn't do to make a bad impression to his peers. When she climbed out of the carriage, Natalie gratefully took the counts offered hand before standing with a respectful stance as the one hosting the ball addressed her lord. Remaining silent unless spoken to as was her directive, Natalie offered Lord Brutus a curtsy or a bow, whichever was more appropriate (though she would prefer the former so as not to give him a view of her cleavage,) but otherwise said nothing unless addressed directly.

Natalie's curtsy goes mostly unnoticed. The count smiles at the baron, stepping aside to give Natalie a better view of the baron in his crimson clothing. "This is miss Natalie, my new assistant. She's showing some promise already."

The baron gives Natalie an appreciating look. "Pretty, isn't she? A pleasure to meet you." The baron steps towards Natalie, offering his hand.

The baron gracefully bows down and kisses Natalie's hand before leading her inside. The main hall of the castle is a vast space lit with huge chandeliers hanging high above. There's an orchestra playing music somewhere in the background and the hall is filled with sounds, not only the music but also of people talking and laughing and generally enjoying themselves. There are two groups of tables, one on higher ground and the other to its left. There's also a space for dancing, with no dancers on the floor at this time.

"Please don't embarrass me by failing to have a good time, mistress Natalie. You should go get yourself a table with other youths. The dinner will be served soon, and you'll no doubt have no lack of partners to dance with, afterwards."

"I wouldn't dream of failing to enjoy your party, my lord!" Natalie replied smoothly while a very slight flush colored her cheeks. It was mostly an act designed to make a good impression, not that she wasn't at least mildly flattered. "If such is your advice, I will gladly do so!" she continued, and if she was dismissed she would go and do just that, searching out a table of people nearer to her own age.
