"That is a lovely name. But where are my manners? My name is Thoron Von Baronhide." he greeted. "I'm the mayor of this humble little spot of the world. That man I was speaking to was a traveler, I was just sharing some info with him. Poor fellow didn't know up from down." he chuckled. "Are you searching for something? Perhaps I have everything you need at my estate? You shouldn't be out here for too long. If it's something that grows out here, I have it in plentiful amounts in my garden. Come, come." he invited. "I can't stand to see you outhere, with all the corruption and evil doers about." he said, holding a hand in gesture to return to town, and his estate.

Rebecca was a little suspicious of the mayor, but couldent help but get interested at the man's offer. U-uh, yah. I know it's dangerous out here, but the ingredients I'm looking for are a little uncommon. Are you sure you would have some over in your gardens? And why would you help me? Rebecca asked hesitantly. She was clearly interested at the chance to gather the herbs faster, but also a little hesitant to follow the man she had just met.

The mayor looked shocked. "It's strange for me to wish to see a youth safe? Why, you must not be from around here. We're strangers yes, but we're also mortals living together in the same place. Around here, if you see someone that needs help, you offer assistance." He then looks at what she's collected. "I grow those aplenty in my garden. For... Reasons I'm sure you understand, since you're collecting them. You're welcome to them, you need little for what you're likely gathering them for, but they're so uncommon unless you grow them. And I am~" he chuckled.

"I hope that little fact about me doesn't put you off. It's for safety's sake, of course. Whenever someone has a little too many spirits, they don't want to wake up one morning to find an accident happened. A child, only when ready, I say."

The words of the mayor seemed to be genuine to Rebecca. S-sorry if I seemed suspicious, I'm just kinda nervous around people I don't know that well recently. Rebecca apologized as she smiled and continued, I would be honored if you let me come over and use your garden! I only need enough for two potions, and I can even repay you if you want. Rebecca would follow the mayor to his house, if he was ready to lead the way.

He nodded, escorting her back to town, and leading her into his estate. The whole town seemed to spark with the news that the sukuta adventurer was following the leader of their town into his abode. Marching inside, she found carpets of red and tiled walls lined with gold shimmer. It wasn't all gold, but the edges of each item, the tables, the railings of the staircase in front of them leading to the second floors, the door handles, and the lining between the square tiles of the floor and walls were all decorated with gold. To call him wealthy would be an understatement. "Come, the garden is back here." he said, continuing to walk past the stairs, and to a door behind them, opening it to behold a garden protected by the walls of his house, such that his home was a perfect two story square around the Garden, every window in the building could see into it, and it's lush beauty, filled with not only herbs, vegetables and fruits, but also many flowers. "The herbs you seek grow here, near the center of the garden. You're free to take a handful, but please no more. I need my supply too!" he chuckled.

A maid or two together would be seen every few minutes. The population of the estate seemed to be low, but diligent and around when you'd least expect.

Following the mayor into his luxurious looking mansion, Rebecca continues to follow him to the garden. While walking though, Rebecca can't help but think about how did the mayor of a smaller town get such a nice place. Through some more doors, the two finally arrive next to an amazing garden, obviously one of the focal points of the mansion! Then I'll have to take your offer for those herbs! Thank you very much, I won't take that much. Rebecca says to the mayor before taking a path towards the center of the garden, looking for the herbs she needes.

Rebecca collects what she needed for 2 samples. "Well, I hope that works out for you. Oh, and just between you and me, you didn't see me talking with a stranger in the woods, alright? It'll make everyone crazy with conspiracy theories! Now, run along kitten." he said, ushering her out with his hands on her back. "Come back anytime you'd like, or even stay a while and have something to drink. Beautiful women are always welcome~"

With that, she was allowed to leave.

Of course, its only natural Ill keep stupid rumors down for someone who helped me out! Rebecca said before allowing the mayor to usher her out. When out the front doors, Rebecca turns back and says, I might take you up on that offer to visit again, you have such a beautiful place! Anyways, thanks! Ill see ya. With that the girl waves bye as she sets off for the Adventurers Guild. She needed a room to rest up and start to make the potions.

One mortar and pestle later... And she had two doses of anti-baby medication! Nightingale was resting in her room, just across from her room.

With a safe and quiet environment, Rebecca successfully makes the two potions! They wouldn't have to worry about any babys growing anymore, at least for now! Once finished, Rebecca sits there quietly looking at the potions, thinking. Seemingly making up her mind, she picks up the potions and heads over to Nightingale's door. Knocking, Rebecca calls out. Nightingale it's me, I've got the potions!

Nightingale opens the door, wearing a see-through nightgown of the most daring quality. It seemed to be made of white silk, allowing one to easily see the pink beneath the fabric. "Wonderful! Thank you!" she said with a cheer, taking her dose if offered. "So, what's the plan now?"

Rebecca couldn't help but check out Nightingale as she opened the door. Rebecca was slightly stunned at how good Nightingale looked, before she snapped out of it and offered a potion. When Nightingale downed her portion right then and there, Rebecca did the same with her own. Well now that problem is out of the way, we can safely go do more quests. But thats for tomorrow! Rebecca said with happiness, relief in her voice. We can take the one mission we talked about downstairs. Rebbeca continued before she looked embarrassed for a moment. Thats when she suddenly hugs Nightingale! Thanks for sticking with me after all that's happened!

After saying that she backs up, still looking slightly embarrassed at what she did. If nothing else happens, the young girl retreats to her own room to rest for the rest of the day before falling asleep. Waking up she dresses and gets something to eat waiting for Nightingale downstairs if she arrives before her.

Nightingale smiles. "Don't worry about it. I'm just glad we didn't suffer worse at their hands, and that what we suffered was so easily healed. We could have been mutilated or worse, but we made it out fine. Let's just hope we don't suffer anything like that again." she said.

Then, rest...

Rebecca had a sleep that was not disturbed. So, she'd awake, and head downstairs to find Nightingale and all the other mercenary girls eating together in quiet conversations about essentially nothing but hobbies and unimportant rumors. Then, Nightingale approached Rebecca. "Shall we go?"

Sure, let's go! I'll go and tell the receptionist that we are taking the maid mission and get any details we need real quick. Rebecca says before heading over to the receptionist to ask for any details of the mission that they were accepting. Once she got what she needed and accepted the mission, she reappears next to Nightingale. We're all ready, let's get going! Rebecca was a bit excited to be able to finally prove that she could do something right to herself, so she had a lot of energy this morning!

"I got the details of the mission. Apparently, the maid was out looking for more kinds of flora to add to the garden, when the orcs must have appeared and taken her. A suddenly usual case of kidnappings that got her. We're told that we have no idea where the orc camp is, so it's our job to go find it, find where she's held, and bring her back. We'll be paid bonuses of 10 denarii per each extra prisoner we bring back." she explained. "All out of the mayor's pocket, so that's good for our paychecks. I have a few ideas on how we can find the orc encampment, though the first idea I had was literally just waiting to be ambushed, fighting the ambush back and interrogating an orc or two. Do you have any ideas?"

That plan works with me, none of my magic would be able to help find her. Though I wonder if we would be able to set up any traps for the ambush. Like set up a camp in the forest with a fire to draw them, and have some home turf advantage! Rebecca said enthusiastically. If Nightningale found any flaw in Rebecca's plan, then Rebecca would still be full on for the first idea.

"Traps sound like a good way to make it not turn into an actual ambush." Nightingale chuckled. "We'd just end up captured again. So, let's do that. Maybe get away from town so they feel brave, start a fire after we've set up traps." she hummed.

Exactly! Now then, let's get going! Rebecca says, ready to move out of town and to head towards the area the maid was taken to set up their traps! Once they find a suitable place to set camp, Rebecca helps Nightingale set up tents and everything, before saying, I know a few basic elemental traps that I can cast, so I'll be setting up those. I can help you with digging some traps or something else if I get them set up before your done. Now then, let's make this place a fortress! Rebecca starts to cast her traps, setting lightning and fire traps!

Rebecca sets up 3 different magical traps around the camp! (All DCs are made through base casting alone, so I assume there's no reason to put them down)

Lightning Bolt Trap

EP cost: 2 each. Damage: 3d8+5 Up to 3 can be maintained.
Once tripped, these traps continue to fire once every round for three rounds, targeting the nearest creature not indicated as friendly by the caster.

Flaming Mine Trap

EP cost: 2 each. Damage: 3d6+6 Up to 5 can be maintained.

Alarm

Spoiler

EP: 0 each. It's utility and 5 can be maintained.
Sets off an alarm if any creatures other than those designated by the caster pass by it.

In all, Rebecca sets 3 lightning, 4 Fire, and 3 alarms. The damaging traps form a sort of outer circle around the camp, while the alarms are the inner circle to catch anyone who sneaks by!

"I don't know much about making traps... Besides, I think you've got it." she said. Before taking to setting up the camp while Rebecca focused on making her magical traps. Nightingale made sure to get lots of wood, to create a fire that would no doubt attract the orcs like moths.

Eventually, the two would both be done, and Nightingale would set the fire. "Now comes the question, how do we wait for them?" she inquired. "Do we both stay awake in case they show up immediately? Or shall one of us go to sleep now so we can exchange shifts? I suppose I will sleep first if that sounds good." she volunteered.

I'm fine with the sleeping shifts, and with taking first watch. We should be safe even if one of us is asleep when they come. I set up enough traps in this small area that should make it impossible for someone to seek in. Rebecca said with some pride in her voice. You go ahead and sleep, and I'll wake you up in a couple of hours and we will switch. Overall, Rebecca agreed with Nightingales suggestion. One of them should be well rested at the vary least if they were to fight tonight.
