Re: The World of Everett
Everett Timeline
1500’s - Charles is born, and lives with his parents on the borders of the human empire until his parents are killed by Dark Elves as they invade the human empire, him being eight years old and with the power of Mythril Melding though his parent’s not knowing about that. Taken into an orphanage several generals in the military are impressed by the young Charles’ drive to seek revenge against the Dark Elves, and seeing him as a worthy candidate for a project in the works they ask him if he’d like to train with them to be able to act out his revenge. Jumping at the chance Charles readily agrees.
For eight years Charles is trained in the art of sword fighting as well as clawed gauntlets, favouring the latter as well as training his Mythril Melding abilities. During his sixteenth year Charles finally enlists into the military proper, and performs well in his first few missions. It is during these missions that Charles meets Alexandria, a female soldier proficient in with a spear, and the two quickly form a close bond which slowly blossoms into love.
During a mission in Charles’ eighteenth year he is critically wounded, and fearing the loss of one of their most prized soldiers the military asks him if he wants to participate in a project that may save his life, but more importantly turn him into an immortal soldier. Not wanting to die Charles agrees, and for the next several months Charles is subjected to tests and experiments, grafting a shard of Anima-soaked diamond into his heart. This particular shard, when used on other subjects, seemed to have the ability to allow its bearer to regenerate any damage no matter how fatal though it quickly burnt out the previous test subject’s life force.
After recovering from the experiments and surgery the military test out the jewels effects, and see if Charles can withstand its life draining side effect. For the next several weeks Charles is slashed, chopped, torn and generally dismembered and seemingly utterly destroyed in many ways though each time he comes back from it, perhaps with a little less sanity than before. Aside from seemingly being able to withstand the shard’s negative effects Charles had managed to get over the pain, even so far as to start enjoying it. Another note the scientists had made is that if enough damage was done to Charles the body parts closest to a living organism would send out tendrils, presumably made from Anima and tear the flesh off others until Charles had fully formed.
Now fully healed and upgraded Charles is sent back into the war with the Dark Elves, and over the next several years the humans seem to be pushing their enemy back into their own empire with ease. While glad to have Charles back Alexandria notices a change slowly coming over Charles; once protecting his allies in battle he seems to no longer care about them, going so far as to injure and even kill several when they have got in his way. Though this change in personality seems to only be while he’s on the battle field.
During his twenty fourth year the war with the Dark Elves seems to be coming to an end though this would ultimately be Charles’ last year ‘alive’. Having finally pushed, and prevented the Dark Elves from crossing into the human empire the current human emperor proposes a truce with the Dark Elf emperor to quell the bloodshed on both sides, with Charles to be the bargaining chip. Stripped of his Mythril and anything else that he could use as a weapon after the final battle Charles is presented to the Dark Elf emperor by the human emperor himself, to show he is serious about a truce. Pleasantly surprised by the human emperor the Dark Elf emperor accepts the truce and asks how it was going to be explained that the humans best warrior was gone which the human emperor replied with it would be explained as he finally succumbed to the effects of the shard. Unfortunately Alexandria had overheard this, and as she went to flee and alert everyone to what had happened she was heard moving behind her cover. The human emperor orders his guard to kill her, and witnessing the death of his wife murdered before him a rush of anger and hatred floods into him. This sudden rush of negative emotion corrupts the jewel, and feeding off the Anima around and in him it explodes into a maelstrom of Negative Anima that fills the valley, feeding off and killing everything inside it. Charles, driven by his anger slaughters those around him, murdering both the human and Dark Elf emperor as well as several soldiers from both empires. Once he comes down from his anger induced berserker state Charles too succumbs to death, his life force drifting along the sea of Negative Anima where it lingers.

17 February 1967 – Fredrick Wingate is born
29 April 1969 – Celeste Wingate is born (Maiden name to be decided at a later date)
2 September 1988 – Grey Wingate is born
1990 – Celeste and Fredrick Wingate marry
9 November 1991 – Aya (Family name to be decided later, Half Elf) is born, her mother (Elven) disappears shortly after and her father is left to raise her on his own.
28 March 1992 – Artemis Wingate is born, he is born with the ability of Mythril Melding
12 August 1997 – Emily Wingate is born, she is born with the rare ability to only be able to use the element of fire, the limits of which will be added to her character profile.
1999 – While out on a family trip Art manages to stumble into an area polluted with Negative Anima while his parents back was turned. Lost and confused Art attempts to make himself locatable by using magic, though the more he uses the more he becomes poisoned by the Negative Anima. His parents eventually find him, though he has become heavily poisoned. Fearing the death of their son Celeste and Fredrick rush him to the nearest hospital while Celeste does her best to keep him alive using her medical Casting. Once at the hospital Art is hooked up to various machines and medications, all trying to prolong his life while the doctors and Celeste come up with a way to at least suppress the effects of the Negative Anima on Art’s body until they can come up with a medicine that’ll stop it completely while he takes it.
After several weeks they had finally managed to create a medicine that would suppress the effects of the Negative Anima, though it would take two more years before they could create one that could completely negate the effects of Negative Anima while Art takes the medication. During that time Art is unable to effectively train his control on Anima for long without becoming extremely ill.
2000 – A group of boys bully Aya, Art having seen this goes to help her. They comment on the fact that he can’t use magic at the moment and taunt him, though Art is unfazed by the comments and when they ignore him and go back to bullying Aya he beats them up. Fleeing, the boys tell Art he’ll be sorry for what happened though Art ignores them because he assumes they’re just upset things didn’t go as planned. It is from this moment that Aya see’s Art as her saviour and eventually becomes infatuated with him.
2001-2010 – Over the next 9 years both Art and Emily study more about Anima control and manipulation than academic studies. Grey on the other hand had decided to balance his studies between Casting and academic.
August 2010 – During the summer of 2010 Emily is kidnapped, it is assumed because the Wingate’s are a well known and fairly rich family and the kidnapper’s could get a large ransom for her. Art however realised something was wrong as they were prepared for Emily’s fire casting, and along with Grey goes to rescue her.
Eventually they track them down to the border between the human and Dark Elf empire’s, and knowing what will happen if one of them goes in Art decides to go in knowing that he’ll die because of it. Grey tries talking him out of it, though Art tells him that if Grey goes in he’ll end up like him or worse and that Art’s accepted that he’ll die eventually because of his illness so why not go down doing some good.
Rushing in Art quickly tracks down the ruined castle the kidnappers had holed themselves in, and fighting his way in he realises they’re safe from the effects of the Negative Anima partly because they aren’t Casting though mostly because of a jewel shard they’re wearing. Eventually making it to the chamber Emily is held in Art fights off the remainder of the kidnapper’s goons, forcing her kidnapper’s to flee. Now safe Art leaves the ruined castle with Emily and travels with her until his illness begins to take its toll on him. Telling her what direction to go Art lets off a fireball to act as a flare to alert Grey that Emily is safe and coming to him. As she leaves the Negative Anima Art seemingly succumbs to his illness and dies.
A funeral is held for Art at the end of the month.
Mid-2012 – A grey haired human wanders the Dark Elf empire, easily striking down any Dark Elf that tries to stop him as he makes his way to the capital city. Once there he demands to see the current emperor, and after several short battles the emperor agrees to meet with the tenacious human, knowing full well it could be a trap.
The human makes an offer to the Dark Elf emperor; he’ll help them invade the human empire so long as he can have his revenge and completely destroy the land. Intrigued by the human the Dark Elf emperor agrees though one soldier, Ryntar Pharn voices his objections, thinking the human is doing this either to get the Dark Elves slaughtered by any humans waiting in the mist or indeed for petty revenge. The emperor orders Ryntar to back down, though eventually coming to the conclusion that his emperor has fallen from grace and succumbed to petty revenge he goes to take the emperors life. Failing in doing so Ryntar expects to be executed, though instead the emperor exiles him from the Dark Elf empire. With only the human empire to flee to Ryntar begrudgingly enters it, hoping to find someone who can clear up his concerns.
