What I gather from boards with "1 game - 1 thread" is that the mess is so freakishly great there's no point in it. I mean:

posts pretty much every single h-game that comes up. You look away for a day or two and bam: there are now about 10~20 new games. In this board, this could easily be one page or at least half a page of topics.

Yes, but even if there is 1 game per one thread, a bunch of those games are shit. They will fall back into pages and never be heard from again. Those who do survive with a bunch of replies are usually above average quality games.

And with the Chief Librarian here, I think that takes superiority of the Assistant. I supported the subforum thing, but if that caused more legal issues than one forum in the past, then I dont mind either way. On average, I visit about 2 times a week.

I can try to help and post new threads (even of games I dont even play) if I see a link for the download and the RJ on the hub thread. I hope others will do the same.

How about making two sticky threads?
One where the Games are Alphabetically listed with links to their respective threads (the list would in the best case look like the platformer one in another H-Forum with a little thumbnail of the game and the content in the description)
'And one with an Alphabetical list for the threads for upcoming games?
Then we could keep up with the flood of new games which is about to come every now and then.

The problem with that is the sheer number of Rpg Maker games released every week. The Platformer thread on Hongfire works mainly because platformer games aren't released too often and it doesn't have to be updated constantly, but Rpg Maker games are produced faster than rats in an infestation.

after it gives me to name a character it crashes and the Error message says: RgssError
failed to create a bitmap

can you help me?

Do you have the RPG Maker XP RTP installed?
Are you running the game in Japanese non-unicode?
Did you install the RTP in a non-protected directory, i.e. UAC is not blocking it?
Do you have a good copy of the game?

These are all questions that need to be addressed.

I got RPG Maker VX Ace and RTP
it's the only game that gives me any problem

The game you are attempting to play uses RPG Maker XP's RTP, which is COMPLETELY different from VX. You have to have separate RTPs for separate games. Download the XP RTP.

So I'm having an issue with some RPGM 2000 games. Some work and some don't, and those that don't give me the error I've attached below. The RPGM 2000 RTP is definitely installed, and I've tried AppLocale and Chiitrans.

I just download all of them to save time.

Have you tried using Japanese locale? While AppLocale can be helpful, some games doesn't work well with it.

As far as I know, my current version of Windows 7 (Home Premium) doesn't support locale changing unless I hack it in with a program, which I did, though admittedly it's halfheartedly done since the RPGM games are still bleh without AppLocale in it.

I think I have an Windows 7 Ultimate disc somewhere around here that can change locales I'll look for it.

You should be able to switch locale without using any hacks with Windows 7.

Yeah, that was stupid of me. I changed my locale to Japanese and I'm still getting the error, though, with and without AppLocale and Chiitrans.

1) Did you try uninstalling the RTP and reinstalling it using Japanese locale?

2) Try unzipping the game using the locale also, so the file names are correct.

What game are you trying to play?
