Re: Attention: IEfags

There's weaknesses in every browser. IE is susceptible in the same way that there are no viruses for macs, cuz IE was most popularly used for the longest time. If this becomes so popular that most people reject it and go for FF, we'll find weaknesses in that too. If you know any hackers, they can be fucking brilliant and will always find a way to mess with your computer. Don't try to pretend there are efficient ways around that in using different browsers

It's not that hackers don't look for weaknesses in FF. It's just that if you tailor your virus to IE your number of targets is currently higher. It's similar to choosing whether to go fishing in a pond or a salmon farm. One has some fish there and you may catch a few with your fishing rod, the other you don't even need the rod because you can just use you hands.

I thought that's precisely what I was saying. Are you intending to add to that post or disagree with it

Wow.. The situation must be really grim if Microsoft is actually admitting that their product sucks.

Re: Attention: IEfags

Toxic has got a point there too. Right now the common method is to go through IE because it has known problems. If everyone switches to another browser, it won't be long before we see problems there too. Myself knowing no fewer than 16 different hackers, six of them IRL, I have a fair idea on these kinds of things.

And I shall leave what browser I use up for debate, all I will say is it isn't IE because it won't run for me on my PC.

Re: Attention: IEfags

I multibrowse. I have IE as a default for opening things but FF for browsing. I suppose it would be best vica-versa but there are some things that just don't open for me through my college website on FF

I have another browser if all else fails, but it never has so I don't even know what it is.

Re: Attention: IEfags

Wait... are you saying "let's stick with the unsafe browser because otherwise they'll just make viruses for other browsers"???

Because that's very rubbishy logic.

Re: Attention: IEfags

No, I was just saying, stop acting like it's the browser.

Want to get technical? They're all unsafe. So what's the real answer, "don't use any browsers?" Cuz that's equally rubbish.

Re: Attention: IEfags

Still if hackers have spent over 9000 hours developing a way to zero day IE, the best solution is to change browser so they have to do it all again for a different browser...
