Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

((Bored with waiting.))

If Siphon and Oni believed that this was the only suprise they were going to have to deal with, they were wrong. The only thing they've heard was probably a soft noise and a whizz as something black passed over them. Before they could turn their heads to check what it was, a black figure dropped to the ground. Grave had finally arrived at the scene - the fallout of dark energy Oni used up in the battle drew the warrior there. Now, the darkweaver was standing a few steps away from the group, surrounded by a shroud of darkness. Grave could notice more details about Oni than Burrito or Siphon - he had a sense they didn't have. The sight of his allies talking calmly with such an abomination suprised him more than anything he had witnessed recently. "Do... Do you idiots have any idea what the Hell are you dealing with?"

"Grave." Burrito says, turning to notcie the warrior upon his speaking "We're dealing with a destroyer of worlds who thinks that this planet is the key to his peace." he says, turning back to look at Oni "Isn't that right, mister Oni?"

Grave looked at Burrito, then at Oni, then turned his head towards Burrito again. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, then shut it. Grave shook his head, then chuckled. After a moment, he began to laugh.

"Kekekekeke... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Peace? Hah! You obviously can't see what he is... And he isn't alone. Those shadows..." Grave looked at Oni again. "I can tell that there is more than one soul within you, kid. Letting them roam like this... You can't control them, can you?"

Burrito turns his head to look at Grave with a questioning look "Just because he has control issues doesn't mean he's dangerous. He just wants a home. And if you interfere with his plans, he'll most likely end up killing you."

Grave looked at Burrito and sighed. "Burrito. Do you really think that I'm not aware of this? Do you really think that I'd be here if I were afraid of death." The warrior shrugged, then focused his attention on Oni, not waiting for an answer.

"Oh look, another one," Oni mutters to himself just as he was about to reply to Siphon.

"Grave?" Oni repeats, surprised by the name. "You mean this guy is Grave? Oh wow, are you a pussy on this planet too?" He doesn't wait for an answer. "And he speaks the truth. This planet, and Burrito, seem to be the key pieces to me finding peace. And yes, I have more than one soul in me. Technically speaking only one of them isn't my own, it's a shadow demon. The other 23 billion or so are my back up energy."

A wide, insane grin then spreads across his face. "But tell me, Grave. I sense an immeasurable amount of negative energy coming from you. Why would that be?" Oni holds his hand out and dark energy takes the form of a sword before solidifying. "But if it's a fight you're spoiling for I'll more than happily oblige you. I COULD DO WITH A GOOD FEAST!"

Grave looked at Oni and grinned back. "Pussy, you say... Why won't you try to find out?" Grave reached into the darkness around him and pulled out a black katana. The energy around him formed an etheral aura around the warrior. "And I'm afraid that I'll be a bit too hard to chew down for you, freak!" Grave adopted a combat stance. Black flames wrapped around his sword.

Oni stared at Grave for a moment, his mouth gaping.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHAHAHHHHAAAAHAHAHA!! Oh wow, you really think that needle will kill me?" Oni's maniacal laughter rang throughout the entire area. It would be clear to anyone who heard it that this wasn't someone who had much sanity left in him. "But try your best anyway. The worst that could happen is that you push me too far. And do you see what's left of that thing over there? Thats right, it was me." Oni stands there waiting for Grave to make the first move.

Grave shook his head disapprovingly, but his grin didn't disappear. "Seems that both your taunts and tactical skills could use some polishing..." The warrior tensed, preparing to lunge forward. "And judging by the traces I've found, you've used up quite a lot of power, right?" Grave charged forward, keeping his sword at his right side. Altough he was running at full speed, he kept a high stance. His movement suggested that he was preparing for a strong swing. Most likely, Grave would attack as soon as he got close enough.

"Who need's tactics when you can cleave a planet in two?" Oni remarks, not making any attempt to dodge. "And I may have used most of my current power, but like I said, push me and I'll just end up burning one of my reserve 'batteries'."

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Grave noticed that Oni wasn't trying to defend himself, and decided to use that to his advantage. If the destroyer could sense changes in the darkness around and within Grave, he would have noticed that right before the warrior got close, his weapon began to transform - despite the thick aura around it. It seemed that the darkweaver released power from within himself, then channeled it through the darkness, changing the katana into an unusual black sword with a skull in the cross-guard. None of the people assembled here had seen this blade before. It was Ragnarok, Grave's ultimate sword.

As soon as Grave got within range, his posture changed. By adding a few extra steps, the warrior was able to easily bend and go into a low stance, then execute a spin and move towards Oni's left side. Grave used the momentum to execute a horizontal slash. The eye sockets of the skull in his weapons began to project a crimson glow, and red runes began to materialize on the blade. They covered 25% of the edge. Dark energy surrounded the blade and began to spin along the edge rapidly, like the teeth of an etheral chainsaw.

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

((haha wow, Grave really doesn't understand that he's up against an immortal being. And if things to get to hectic I may very well have to use his Shadow Judge form :D))

Oni merely stood there, trying to gauge what Grave hoped to accomplish. Though he still braced himself for the inevitable attack and whatever pain it would momentarily bring.

((Oni, Grave has you within reach and is executing a slash aimed somewhere at your waist... It would be completely acceptable to react, unless you want to get cut in half. That attack is pretty much like combining a chainsword and an energy sword from Warhammer 40k.))

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

It appeared that Oni wouldn't defend himself... Grave assumed that it could mean that he can either absorb darkness or become immaterial. The warrior didn't believe in immortal beings - everything was destructible, you just needed the right approach and proper means to deal with it. Grave didn't hesitate - he cut Oni, aiming at the waist. A 25% release on Ragnarok was enough to deal with heavy armor, so unless Oni had one of the abilities Grave assumed he had, or performed a miracle, he'd get cut in half...

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

The blade passed through Oni just as Grave would expect it to, though there was some resistance before the blade passed completely through him. slightly groaning in pain, Oni's torso seemed as if it was about to fall to the ground though a second later shadow tendrils shot up from his waist and connected his body back together.

"Well, that was entertaining," Oni said, with more than a little bit of sarcasm in his voice. though it sounded like he was trying to hold back some of the pain. "My turn." With his free hand Oni made to grab Grave by the throat, his movements hopefully unimpeded by the lack of energy in him. If his hand connected he would then tighten his grip though not so much that Grave couldnt actually breathe.

Burrito sighs as he watches the exchange "Kill each other, then, see if I give a damn." he says, turning from the two and crossing his arms "Siphon, leave them be. I'll come back for the corpse when Oni is done with it."

Re: The Adbot's Revenge!

Grave didn't expect such a reaction. This clearly meant that physical attack weren't really useful. However, if Oni expected an easy catch, he would be disappointed. Even though he was suprised, Grave's instincts didn't fail - he expected a counterattack. Ragnarok disappeared from the warrior's hand, turning into energy. Grave took that power within himself, then channeled it into an attack and released it from his mouth as a blast of elemental force. It served two purposes - first, it was supposed to be a test. Grave wondered whether pure energy would be more effective. Second, the blast pushed the warrior back a few steps as he jumped up a bit, losing contact with the ground for a few seconds. Grave stopped with a small slide, preparing to dodge.

((Was that just negative energy fired at Oni?))
