MTool: RPGMaker/WolfRPG/TyranoBuilder/SRPGStudio/Kirikiri2/SGB/Bakin/Ren'Py Real-time cheat + one-click machine translation tool

Finally used Mtool for the first time today... holy shit this is pure magic.

Got a quick question about how the translation files work. I have clicked "start translation" and it's working. I also see that the tool created a bunch of bin file, presumably that's where the translation is stored. I see that there is a button for importing translation, and a button for exporting untranslated text, but no button for exporting translated text. Is exporting translated text not possible?

Yes, it is not supported.

Quick heads up, a few days ago the newest 'Succubus Desire' demo refused to be translated by Chat GPT so i had to use Bing instead (Tier 2 user). When initially launching the game via mtool it says something about a text-based error as well. This game was made in RPG maker so i don't know why there was an error. There has been an update on Mtool since then so maybe the problem was fixed, i've been encountering a few more errors lately.

It can't? What happened?
there's an issue with deepl right now, and there IS a fix technically but you need to know how the fuck to use github and compile it yourself or some shit
we be waiting for the official fix

Huh. MTool works with the trial of (Tyrannobuilder engine) but the text from Bing Auto-Translate displays with no spaces.

The text in the log displays correctly, so it's just the in-game display? Wonder if I'm doing something wrong.

Will fix with next update.

Just built a new computer and upgrade to Win 11. I am not sure if it's Win 11 or because of the latest update (that enables auto update for all users), but Windows Defender does not like MTool lol. Threw out 3 severe warning immediately upon running. Geez. I did see the warning message from Zths, but I did not think Windows Defender will react this violently.

For future references, clicking on the warning notification, and choosing "allow" or "restore" will solve the issue.

You have to white-list Mtool in many different virus detector programs.

For translations which option is generally recommended? Assuming Bing as its default but interested which tends to give best translation.

I've always used chatgpt but it requires level 2.

Any one has any idea on a tool to extract all the texts on a given .dpm files? (I think these are running on KIRIKIRI, more specifically the games made by Rascou)
Also was wondering what other tools can be used for extraction of texts on other games? I am running on to the issues of getting garbled mess of original text becoming
unreadable running on the game engine itself but copying perfectly fine over my clipboard. Prime example of this Is Lune's 1st Soredemo Aishiteru . This was the same from when I started doing a partial translation in 2016 and even now, might just be the game itself since I've made locale changes, compatibility tests etc.

These problems make it impossible for me to translate games by hand when the games have varying endings, branching choices, and god forbid Rascou's mail system that changes along with your choices.
And I prefer doing these translations over notepad++ where these .txt files can be easily edited, improved, and proofread if needed. I still think this is the best way to do a translation since even Translation aggregator+ITH and (even the oldest way I used to do translation back then was ATLAS14+Google translator toolkit) and also textractor offers a way to use substitutions and 1 to 1 direct translation of text over a txt file. This can easily be accomplished by enabling replacing the google translated cache txt file with your own custom translated txt file, this can also be further improved by using the replacer extension where you basically provide a direct translation of japanese texts/sentences to an english equivalent translation. The only downside to this is Yes, the translated work won't be patched directly onto the game itself and you have to put up with an overlay, but I think it's the best option to it with anyone who has the .txt file of the translation files while having he native game text along with a translation, or even just the english translation itself on screen. It's also a huge plus that with a 20k lines of combined ja-en .txt at less than 1mb for Rascou games and Lunes 80k-120k lines of ja-en .txt at around <10mb. The AI translations are really getting a lot better but should only be used as a rough translation templet, half the time it fails to consider previous context, tone, and god forbid slang terms. And you can just forget about translating the H-Scenes due to safeguards. Google translate has no limit as well as Deepl, But those translations are subpar. But if anyone can just provide the extracted .txt files of the series of games I mentioned above, that would be great. I'll thank you by giving you a translated file of it. It's giving me more headaches when all I can rely on is speed running the skip button, have them all copied over to my clipboard, start from a save, skip a different route, etc. I have been trying to translate the games by LUNE and RASCOU for the longest time now and still have the partial .txts over at my pastebin... I would like to move away from those 2 and do the ones by APPETITE and WAFFLE. Soredemo 1+2 has been around since 2011 and had both already received an anime adaptation, but the game has so much, MUCH more content that the anime only covers maybe at best 5% of the entire game's content.

MTool interacts strangely with - while the tool can inject into the game's demo and translate the text fine, the game has freezing issues while MTool is active, resulting in a Now Loading message that never resolves.

Freezing is most likely to occur when opening the game's menu or when triggering dialogue events. I'd guess there's some sort of insane spaghetti code going on with the event triggering, so there might not be any fix on the MTool end.

Update: Decrypting the game with the latest version of the Enigma unpacking tool and then running MTool solved the issues, though you do need the latest version of the Enigma tool to decrypt it.
