I've been waiting for Exorcist Maiden: Resurrected's steam release for a long time now. It had a steam page with H game translating group Otaku Plan/Hentai Plan. After waiting a long time with no changes to the , the page went down. From what I've heard, it's likely that steam's reviewing process gave them so much trouble they gave up on releasing the game. I'm wondering if there's any precedent of contacting steam support to appeal these decisions. I'm considering writing steam support myself to make a case for getting this game through, considering many more extreme games have gotten through before.

By lurking in their discord server, I've gathered that Otaku Plan's main method of getting H games released on steam is by cutting out all adult content and then providing a patch to restore it. Nothing particularly wrong with that approach since it works for other games, but I suspect that this game may have proved challenging because I once heard that the translation was "almost done" and that it was just "fixing bugs" that remained. If you've played the exorcist maiden games you probably know that the hentai content is almost central to the gameplay systems, and I can see how trying to simply remove all adult content could break the game in a lot of ways. If they couldn't remove the H content, then whoever reviewed the game on steam's part refused to let it through and the store page went down.

So. Has anyone here tried messaging steam support about an issue similar to this? Do you think there's more than a snowball's chance in hell that I'd get a favorable response from steam support if I requested that they re-list and greenlight this game? There's lots of adult games getting released on the steam store week after week, and some of them are far lower quality than you'd expect to be allowed on steam. There's games with content as extreme if not more extreme than this game, too.

Haven't tried or heard of peoples doing it.
But considering what you see about Steam for other problem (no-warning Banned account without reason, refund demand....), how Steam tend to be more stuck up and refuse to move than a mountain.... I have very high doubt about such a method result.

Sad to say, but if the content / censorship is the root of the problem with Steam, it's probably better & easier to get through another reseller like JAST / GoG / Mangagamer .... for selling EN version out of Japan.

They'd only give a shit if you had made them lots of money already, then instead of peon #19275891 you'd get manager #123412987 and be able to work your way up to department head #263 or even executive #16. Then you'd have a snowball's chance.

Yeah, seeing a pattern with all the responses here.

I'd like to believe that Unkomorimori's games are good enough to earn good sales and good money, but quality alone doesn't get you sales with H games, clearly.

I'm still considering sending a message at some point despite our collective doubts, simply because I've never heard of anyone trying before that was a customer, as opposed to the game publisher or dev themselves trying.
