Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches D&D 3.5

Copper: that's cool, but I'll save a spot for you anyway in case you want to join later.

DmRonny: sure, I'll send you some rolls.

Pheonix: I don't know of any Warlock prestige class besides Hellfire Warlock, but if you tell me which book it's in I'll look it up. Also, good pick on the Transdimensional spell.

All: Hp is max for first level and half for later levels, factoring in Constitution of course. When the game starts, I'm not allowing more than two levels in any specific prestige class (ie: you could have two levels in two different prestige classes so long as you meet the requirements, but not more than two in any specific class.) After we've started, how you level is up to you. The max cost of your chosen magic item is 1500. If it's not too much trouble, tell me your characters chosen combat strategy, ie: if you're a cleric, are you buffing and rushing in to whack stuff, or staying back and healing your allies and debuffing the enemy.

I'll take this time to note that most +1 weapons cost 2000+.....

So 1500 is limiting us to +1 shields, really minor magic items, or +1 armor(except full plate and I think half plate)

Okay cool, I've already got a handful of ideas for some characters I'll just wait to see which fits with the party best. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have a single class sorceror, a halfling scout I'm guessing, and whatever Ryu decides to go as. All my ideas are front line combatant/healer types.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches D&D 3.5

Sorry, 2500. Hit the wrong #.

Yeah, that's what we've got so far, Shrike said she's making Jess again. One thing to note, there will be side quests that will get you some good stuff, and maybe some allies to help at the end fight, but there's potential fights against some very powerful enemies if you've got no one that can talk, so someone's going to need to be a negotiator.

Well, I've got most of a how I'm going to play this worked out. Posts will be daily, except for combat, which will (hopefully) be twice a day. If someones unable to post, and something important is happening to their character, I'll hold off until they get back. If anyone can't post for a few days in a row, I would appreciate it if they let us know in advance. Making all the sheets I'll need now, you'll have 3 npcs with you, one of whom is the guy who recruits you, but you guys will still basically be calling the shots.

Alright, depending how the others set up their charisma skills, will decide which of the two character ideas I use. Since you said it's for good or neutral characters, is it safe to assume none of the NPC's with us are evil. Do you want us to use any specific style of character sheet, or will anything work.

I was planning on being a hybrid of sorc and fighter-ish.(starting with 6 lvls of sorc, then adding a bit of the dragon disciple prestige class, and throwing in 2 lvls of fighter somewhere)

I was just making a comment that it would be funny if someone took the warlock base class from complete arcane and prestiged into the 'Hellfire warlock' shrike had mentioned. (Although I have no idea if it's possible)

Also, I plan to next level begin prestiging into elemental savant. So I will be a pure caster focused on high powered lightning spells.

Any character sheet that I can read and understand is okay by me, but it needs to be updatable for when we gain levels. The guys with you are the ones giving you the information, but none of them needs to survive to the end, in fact once you get out of the opening city they're completely expendable, thought they do have their uses.

I say it's time to petition the higher-ups for a sub-board for this, no?

Good thing two of the NPCs are heavy melee classes, you're gonna need the distractions. More info, now that I've decided, is that one of them is a ranger, the other two are a cleric and paladin of Lathander.

So... We're going in without a rogue of any sort?

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches D&D 3.5

Jess wouldn't have been too much help in that way anyway. She had trapfinding, but Lockpick and disable device weren't class skills for her. Now I dunno about you Tass, but when I DM a group without a trapfinder, I generally remove most of the traps, unless they are important to the plot :)

Well, generally if the door is unlocked you can always use an open/close spell (Or as it is often pronounced: an Open Clothes spell) and set off the trap against no one.

Edit: otherwise send the person with the most hit points first.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches D&D 3.5

...I just realized, never give me 2,500gp for a magic item and then let me grab any nonmagic piece of adventuring gear I want...

In other news: did you know a rowboat can fit in a type I bag of holding?
