Ah club shampoo, it's the next state over and about 8 minutes away. Wednesday night is goth night (Nocturne) and then there's the midnight mosh pit and provocatively dressed teenage girls...
Holy crap, and I thought I was the only one who ever went to Nocturne. Of course, Patrick walking around with his jailbait always did worry me slightly. I miss The Vault and John Rambo/13th Child's The Dark Corner from the PhillyGoth scene. I don't go to Philly as often anymore, due to lack of a wingman. I just don't know where to find one.

Sorry I've been scarce, guys. I work in a department store, and it's kind of December-y over here. (yay! overtime pay!)
Man, do I feel your pain. This is why Copper takes time to shoot things in the head on a regular basis. At least you have overtime to compensate for it. Me, I get to wonder when the hell they made me full time, given I'm getting 35+ hours a week and yet am still considered part time *sucks on tooth*

I don't even know why I wore that fake mustache. I could have easily just worn glasses, that clearly wouldn't have been as itchy.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! That's Illegal. At least it is in Canada. You should check into your employment services bureau to double check the laws of what ever country you're working in to see what your rights and privileges are.

No, we have plenty of rights. Unfortunately, management ignores them anyways.

You have the right to freedom, and so do they... They have the freedom of being complete asshats, and you have the "freedom" of leaving to find another job.

Well that's a fun loophole. 40 hours a week is full time, but knock just one hour off a day and you can shove someone down the ladder at no extra cost and a substantial profit.

Well, at least we have a court system in this country, people should try to access it more. As a saying goes that I once read from a businessman, "It used to be you could throw a complaining employee out a high window and be done with it. Now if you throw him out the window, he'll phone his lawyer on the way down."

Fuck the little guys over often enough, and they'll gang up to fuck you over back.

Case in point, not even five hundred years ago, the peasants were undernourished and under equipped. So royalty was free to bully them into submission. When a peasant complained, the local Villain flogged him in front of everyone, or just executed the trouble maker. When the peasants would gang up to try and use their force of numbers to push back, the Villain sent in his retinue of well fed, well trained and well equipped Knights to enforce their will, and you end up with a small scale re-enactment of The 300.

Then mass education became acceptable, and it's been uphill for the peons ever since. They've been getting smarter, heartier and more prolific ever since, and the old status quo of the ruling elite being better off than everyone has almost disappeared.

No. No it hasn't. The standards of living have risen to the point where common people today live better than kings thousand years ago. Feudal systems have collapsed. But the ruling elite is still way, way better off than commoners. The main difference is that instead of corrupted nobles, today they're corrupted businessmen. Oh, and there's a middle class now.

Umm... Patrick having fucking REAL FANGS worries me even more -- he's like the Peter Pan (or michael jackson) of the club... but, luckily you can't go to jail for feasting upon the blood of succulent virgins.

I mean, if you find you have an aversion to nocturne because of Patrick and his jailbait, you may consider your alternative here however - I mean you could always go there on FRIDAY night instead..........................

look up the movie born rich. its a great example of how disgustingly rich our ruling class really is. if you don't think America has a ruling class, then you should definitely watch it.

Eh, it's a bit of a trade off. I get nearly 40 hours now and come the slow months, I'm lucky if I get 8 hours a week. *shrug* I mostly just bitch for the sake of bitching. Makes me feel better.

You have the right to freedom, and so do they... They have the freedom of being complete asshats, and you have the "freedom" of leaving to find another job.
Well, if my boss was to be believed today, if we didn't get our numbers up, "we'd all be looking for new jobs." *yawn* I've been in retail about 10 years. I'm so f'ing jaded, I just don't give a shit any more. My main problem isn't getting numbers up, it's listening to the botch. (Wow, that would be me trying to write "boss" and "bitch" at the same time. Eh, fits. Anyway...) Boss bitch about getting the numbers up. Bigwigs talk a big game, but they very rarely follow through with it. And of course, they don't take into account that these are LAST MINUTE SHOPPERS who do not want to be pitched to, do not want to donate, do not want to do anything but get their shit and get out of the store. I told one of the supervisors today "They're always on you to listen to us to make sure we're pitching the plus card. You *should* be listening to the customers that come up and say 'Don't sell me anything. I want to get my X and go.' And when you have 20 of those in an hour, you're not going to sell them $20 shopping cards.

[/rant] I could keep going, but that's a severe derailment of topic. How about those tentacles? Maybe Hettie will have more art for us for Christmas?
