Aww, what sense does that make? The farther it travels, the more dangerous it'll get? DAMN YOU WEATHER!

THAT MAKES EVEN LESS SENSE! How do they work, like an unstable core, getting stronger and stronger until it stops suddenly?

Re: In today's news...

All I know is that by the time hurricanes get up here all we get is some good storms. Though Newfoundland and Nova Scotia occasionally get hit hard in their harbours, still nothing compared to down in the States.

Hurricanes are tropical storms, so as the move north they tend to die down because of the colder air temperatures.

No, actually. The farther it goes the weaker it'll get. But most current predictions say it won't hit land until it passes South Carolina or so, and that'll only be the outside edge of it. North Carolina will get the worst of it, and by the time it gets to NY it'll be a category 1 storm. However, that's still winds from 30-80 mph, and rain, lightning, and thunder.

Re: In today's news...

I'm not really worried about the Hurricane. If it gets close and hasn't died down,
I'll simply move my ass in a westward direction until I am outside of the proposed path.

There are a LOT of people in my area, though, who are panicking like crazy about it,
especially after the earthquake. It's like common sense and reasoning skills
fucking fly out the damn window when a natural disaster strikes or something.

A few things come into play here. There's mob psychology, which is kind of interesting in and of it self, and there's the possibility of assholes being assholes. Also, I would guess that hurricanes aren't terribly common in the north.

The more people that panic, the more that are going to panic. They will take every additional person who panics as evidence they this is the thing to do. The only way to fight panic is with information or authority, and the authorities are busy and so are those panicking.

And then there's the good folk who are going to the store to buy everything so they can sell it when the dust settles, or taking care of last minute business, or looking for various other ways to get ahead with no regard for others. I had a friend who once told me the cops don't come out when the winds hit 40 MPH. This is the sort of person you're worrying about.

Oh wow. We get 30-50 mile a hour winds and storms here all the time in the good ol evergreen country. We call it 'winter'.

Re: In today's news...

Cut an apple in half. Take a look.
And if you assign a number to each letter, A+P+P+L+E= 50
If you cut that in half, you get 25.

Something Apple is known for is it's i-apps which = 61
Minus half the apple from that, it's 36.
People who spend too much time on the computer often lack a girlfriend, so if you take away your GF (7+6).
36-13 =

THE NUMBER 23

Right.
This is a horrible, horrible thing.

But I can't help laughing at some of the comments.

Also: "regardless of texture physics"
. . . . .

ALSO also: 42, eh? I'm sorry, but I must question the legitimacy of this article until the story is mentioned in many other news publications.

He didn't die. After fapping 42 times, due to THAT NUMBER, he attained inner peace and all the knowledge of the cosmos, and rose to a higher plane of existence.
