Hiromi Tsuru, who's probably best known as the Japanese voice actress for Bulma from the Dragon Ball franchise and Ukyo from Ranma 1/2 has just passed away today at age 57. May she rest in peace

Seriously though, EA. FUCKED. THE. HELL. UP. SEVERAL governments are either warning the public or are doing full-on inquiries if it's lootbox system is proper gambling and should be regulated. If this happens, were could see a major gutting of the industry on it's own greed.

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! LET THE GAME INDUSTRY BUUURN!!!

Didn't watch the video.
But yeah, lootbox system is just gambling, however you want to look at it. In worst case they will just slap 18+ on all games having that and roll with it. That's dealing with symptoms, not removing the problem. Only way to remove a problem is to stop pre-ordering any new shiny shit and buying it after non-payed-for-good-review corrupted journalists review it. After that: if it's shit, do not buy.
Unfortunately, most people lack self restraint and just like shiny shit so you have to push them really far until they had enough.

Rurouni Kenshin creator Nobuhiro Watsuki was arrested on Monday for possessing CP. As a result, further chapters of the manga have been put on hiatus.

Oh for fuck's sake. I really hope my sister doesn't find out about this; she'd be devastated.

Lol, tell her that Nobuhiro Watsuki is a pedophile and manga is on hiatus, she will learn at some point anyway :D

EDIT:
Speaking back about video games:

Well... Their record so far is so good (compared to other companies), let's hope it stays like that.

Oh Valve... There is only one thing about that you forget: It will be abused, either by trolls or publishers themselves.
Also: "This behavior is not only humanly impossible, but definitely not a thoughtful indication of how 'helpful' each of those reviews were.", I think you wanted to say: according to your data it's humanly impossible, bots didn't do that... idiots.

Basically, an asshole in a tcg community made a video expressing his views on a cosplayer who also plays the game. She is "allegedly" bullied by his "supporters" causing her to quit the community. She also coincidentally has a patreon that isn't doing as well as it used to. All the fatbeards in the community (including prominent youtubers) jump on the hate-wagon to tear the guy's ass open because a fucking cosplayer had her feelings hurt over a video. There has been no images of the supposed harassment or witness testimony on the matter.

Texas State student writes article in university newspaper basically calling for white genocide. Apparently, he's also authored other articles of a similar nature, one calling for the rich to be rendered incapable of producing offspring via chemical or surgical means.

A FOX correspondent waving around the US flag on a US university campus and the students cuss out the US. He waves an ISIS flag and they get supportive or don't say anything in objection. These are the leaders of tomorrow. Better to support one of the most dangerous and barbaric terrorist organizations in history who want to destroy your nation than to support that same nation that keeps you safe, educated, and able to live freely, right?

Oh, this... Heard about it. Funny thing is, he only made 1 video, like 2 years ago. Honestly, look at MtG players, they don't fucking quit because their feelings got hurt (plus, most of them are a bunch of good folks), they quit because this hobby takes a lot of money and is addictive as fuck. If someone loves something, it's never "muh feelings, I quit".
Most of female cosplayers those days do it for the money, not for the love of their hobby. I am almost certain it's about some shit that's money related.
Oh right, because someone might had understood that wrong: What I said was - most female cosplayers are just sluts/attention whores and do it for money, so who gives a fuck?

Nonsense. I can quit anyday I want to, I just don't want to. Also I want a foil of some cards....

He's an asshole, she's hypersensitive, but she's hot and he's not, he should figure out he'd lose this fight.

As for females cosplaying for attention... Well duh, when was the last time you dressed up as Sorin because you liked his new card. Or Garruk. Or take the easy route and do Jace for your JTMS Legacy deck. You didn't? Well, shit, why not? Because cosplaying is effort, you do it for a reason.

*shrugs* I find nothing in this news particularly objectable, just people being dumb.

Sometimes feel like I am from that generation, which remembers when cosplayers did it for the love of hobby/character... Not for money, not for attention whoring, but it was just: "Hey look, I am cosplaying this character I like"... I miss those times.

August Ames committed suicide when she publicly refused to perform on-camera with an actor who has done gay porn before. Rather than respect her decision, the "tolerant" left attacked her and accused her of bigotry and homophobia, non-stop bullying her to the point she became suicidal. So, it's rape if a straight, white male demands sex and gets rejected, but intolerance and bigotry when it involves the LGBTQ community?

I remember the days when female cosplayer was synonymous with land whale.

There, fix'd it for ya, hoss.
No you didn't, because you assumed something.
Here is an issue: I don't pay attention to any cosplayer and never did, I couldn't even name or recognize one. You see someone in a costume at the convention, you go to talk/ask to take a photo and that was all. Nowadays all I see is bunch of attention whores with their patreons, paid photos and paid extra saucy photos. Back in the they, there just wasn't anything like that.
Maybe it's not that bad, because I haven't been at any convention for years, but that's how it looks to me now.
I remember the days when female cosplayer was synonymous with land whale.
Yeah, that meme was something I did expect, yet on conventions there was always one or two whale(s) cosplaying, at best. So it was quickly proven to me that it was just a meme... I wonder where it came from?

I can see the sellout aspect. Seen it happen myself with hentaigames, about.. 5 years ago most people made games with a passion and for free, now there's a lot of demo gibbe money plz patreons games. They are obnoxious, and they might inspire creators that would otherwise make better, free games, but that is hard to quantify.

However, the mistake you make Yoshi, which Pedoune points out is that you assume that the existance of something negative must also mean the nonexistance of something positive. The only reason you think so is that your knowledge of the scene is, by own admission, very shallow. That in itself is not a problem, but you making generalizations and judgements based on it is. You are slandering a group of people based on the worst example of them, leading you to remind me of these people:

I thought you were more fun, and less shallow a person to be quite frank. Ironically, by making your point and sticking to it, you start to sound like those you despise.

Edit for a quick TL/DR: There's still passionate cosplayers out there, I have no doubt, if you look only so far as the bad ones and call it a day that says more about you than them. Me, I just look for good cosplay-porn. Om nom nom.

Depends, I would agree that there are a lot of people that just do it for money. But there are also people that just love doing this and if they can turn their hobby/love into something that makes money, then kudos to them. It all falls down under not forgetting why they are doing it. As soon as they do, it's just pure money making.
On the other hand, if you have a product/business that isn't generating positive revenue, it's a failed product from money making perspective, yet it may be a proper product from other perspectives. Depends what it is and what it was supposed to do, it's initial purpose.
I am not even going to bother watching that video :p
But you are right, I assume that's how it looks, with all information I have right now, as I don't care as much about cosplay scene to check. Then again, you are wrong that I don't expect anything good from that scene. Problem is, when we talk about issues, we look at bad things that need fixing, not good things that don't, unless scale is so small, it doesn't really matter. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
I should have probably pointed out what's obvious to me, so it doesn't need any extra explanation.
So again, I do think that most female cosplayers are just attention whores, which already indicates that there are positive aspects to it (#notall kek). What I may have gotten wrong here, is scale, maybe it's other way around and attention whores are just a small part of the cosplay scene. Whichever way it is, attention whores are definitely the group that you can see first when checking cosplay, so that may paint image of a lot of cosplayers for people that don't care as much.
Small and loud in-group with negative aspects will always have negative impact on the whole group for the people that aren't part or interested in such group.

Om nom nom.
Yup, definitely need to start making myself more clear.

Before anyone asks: Simple, don't give attention to attention whores, but don't silence/remove forcefully.

I feel like you're all missing the most recent news about the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters bullying a female porn star because she refused to perform with a guy who does gay porn.

In fact, I feel like you've all intentionally overlooked that entire thing...

I've not overlooked that, along with multiple other things that went terribly wrong in the world

But none of it matters because bad people will continue to be bad people anyway

Same as XSI, just one more nail in the coffin

I'm just wondering, why do you always say the "left" when you're describing a faction you disagree with? The left is, you know, Socialists, the people who believe in helping and taking care of people, and less on telling them what to think(usually). The politically correct groups are somewhat centre oriented...
