"Yeah, though I'm more worried about the ammunition than the guns themselves. I was talking to our shopkeep, and apparently all she has is clips of ammunition, with no way to refill them. So I'm thinking we need as many boxess of ammo as we can carry, I might even get Cal to stop with his car if we get a load worth. My main worry is finding a gun store that has already been broken into. If we set an alarm off, it will probably bring every monster in blocks down on our heads. Not exactly something I look forward to. The nearest gun shop is a couple of blocks this way, let's go see, shall we?" River says, pointing off in the one direction and keeping an eye on the building to either side as they head off.

"That sounds like a good place to start," agrees Caitlyn, falling into step behind River. She was glad that her athletic companion had an idea of where to find ammunition. "Hopefully we'll have at least more than we can carry in these backpacks when we're done." She scans the street ahead for any sewer grates or suspicious manholes, still wary after her previous encounter with the tentacles.
"Listen," she says, "I barely got away from the thing that grabbed me the other day. If something gets a grip on you, I'll try to get it off before I worry about myself, okay? If we try to watch out for each other that way, hopefully we'll be able to prevent anything from having time to. . ." She trails off and shrugs.

During their walk, Caitlyn began to talk with River about her job and how it was related to American Democracy. Unfortunately, this distracted River a little...
(Perception check)
River's eyes were too focused on Caitlyn, and Caitlyn was too busy talking to notice two spiders come from an above building, leaping down on them...
The first one quickly landed on River, knocking her to the ground as it's legs locked around her. While the second barely missed Caitlyn.
*River is being held and Caitlyn is free to move around, what do they do?*

"River!" Caitlyn shouted, pulling her .32 and taking careful aim at the spider on the other girl. She fired a single shot, trying to precisely hit the thing off of the redhead.

The blow to the ground slightly stunned River, as she couldn't quite put all of her effort into escaping.
(Caitlyn attacks)
Caitlyn's careful aiming rewarded her with a very well placed shot on the bug, as the shock from her bullet made it let go of River as it retreated quickly off of her.
(Enemy attacks)
The other spider, left unchecked, managed to leap onto Caitlyn's back, getting a good grip on her.

River rolled over and did a quick kip-up from the ground, leaving the one on her alone for now as she drew her gun and calmly took the two steps needed to place the gun against the creature on Caitlyn, firing twice once she did.

Caitlyn's relief at seeing the first spider fall away from River is short lived; she stifles a cry and stumbles forward feeling the second one latch on to her back. Keeping her head, Caitlyn realizes that she doesn't seem to be pinned yet and tries to throw an elbow to knock the spider off of her.
(Action: Unarmed attack against the spider.)

With a victorious sigh of relief, the two girls regain themselves...

"Nice shot, River. Thanks." Caitlyn wipes her brow and looks over her shoulder with a look of disgust, "Yuck. I hadn't seen those things before."
She checks her pistol, reloading it back up to full capacity. "Let's hope that's all that of those things we find before we get to the store." She scans the street making sure it is safe to proceed.

"No problem, thanks as well. These spider things are a first for me too, though I keep hearing of a bunch I haven't seen, so I'm not really surprised. Let's keep moving." River says simply, smiling a little at the compliment. She prefers her knife, but it feels like it's taking a secondary role to just putting a gun against something. She starts walking again, taking a more careful watch this time.

Most of the shelves, according to a first glance, were bare. The props on the walls where the guns would be placed no longer held the coveted weapons.
It looks as if this place was looted some time ago, likely after the attack.
As River and Caitlyn continued their trek, they eventually reached the gun store. The windows were smashed, allowing the sun light to show that the place had been looted heavily. Neither of the girls heard, or saw anything hostile inside. All was quiet.
Both the girls, upon knowing the coast was clear, searched the store.
River found a switch blade, about the size of her own knife, in one of the clerk's drawers, whoever had it must have left it behind, or didn't have a chance to go get it...
Caitlyn found a .38 caliber magazine misplaced in the corner. And when she went to inspect the staff only room, she heard something splash as she took a few steps in. Upon inspection, there was a puddle of cum on the floor, next to a short sword.
The girls didn't find anything else in the store.
