Wow, that beats the pants off what I was using for Fletch by a long shot. Though I may not listen to it ever again and just stick with the one I was using.
I understand that for somebody in the military or somebody that used to be, that song can be downright insulting. I don't blame you for not listening to it.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Actually I didn't find it insulting at all. It's just that it's perfect for your character, who is like me in many ways. It just hits home in some ways that I don't really feel I could explain and it makes me get that empty feeling in my stomach.

EDIT: Hey Shrike how were you doing the celerity again, I remember you going over it when we were doing the tower. I can't find it though and I don't remember if you changed it from what the book says or not.

Yay, I should hopefully be able to start playing as Claire proper again.

Depends on the level Celerity that Fletch has. Basic level 1 lets him pre-empt other peoples actions, provided he can see them coming. Basic level 2 lets him act again at the end of a round. What he just did (sprinting across the street before the guy can shoot again) would likely be fine, but if it comes down to out and out combat, things might get tricky.

Personally, I've always done Celerity as either "I go first" or "I go again." Can either claim the first action of a round or act again at the end, but then, that's pen and paper vampire when initiative comes into play. This is a wee bit different.

Pretty much what Copper said, aye. I didn't change it too much from the book, and the first two levels not at all. Celerity 1 makes his action happen first, and Celerity 2 means he gets a second action, which happens after everything else in the round.

For fletch there, if he's close enough to get there in one action, Celerity 1 means he can close before the guy can pull off another shot. If he's further than that, Celerity 2 means he can still close this round, but the guy gets the shot off first. If he's two far away and doesn't have Celerity 2, the guy gets the shot off, but if Fletch uses Celerity again the next round, he's close before the guy gets a third shot.

Make sense?

I hate to double post, but is that all you're going to do is heal yourself while Meat beats the ever loving crap out of you.

Assuming yer talking to me... but yes. Yes that's all I'm doing because she's fucked in the blood... so to speak. I've never encountered any heroin users that I know of, but from what I read of it, lack of anger and all that is the biggest symptom (that's not physical) and so I didn't think Claire would fight back.

You have no idea how big a pain it's been RPing a high Claire... though at the same time I have no idea how big a pain its been GMing a high Claire. So we're even?

Well heroin does make you calmer, true. I was thinking more of using it to help you dodge via celerity, which also has the bonus of using blood. However you do it is fine though I guess, since standing there and taking blow after blow from a Brujah would probably garner some respect at least.

Well, that's the longest post I've made in a while. It's helpful to actually be able to use a computer once in a while, heh XD

Coming right after one of my shorter posts in a while, which was oddly enough done on a phone. I don't even know how you do it, my fingers are so big I thought it was going to turn out as complete gibberish.

Yeah, that's pretty much all she's going to do... not very exciting... but maybe benefits later from garnered respect? Time will tell.

Well, as a female whose most labour-intensive job consisted of shaking paper, I probably have smaller fingers than you, who I can onlyt assume is at least passably athletic and fairly larger than I am, what with all that military stuff you had going on. That being said, grow your thumbnails out a few millimeters, it helps me! ;)

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Well actually that makes it a little easier on me, since I can now pretty much do the fight without waiting on your reaction. So you get to pretty much skip ahead to the role-playing part as the normal Claire.

Ah, so that's why my little brother has such long fingernails, he's always on his damn phone when I see him. I think I'll just stick with my computer keyboard most of the time though. What kind of a job is shaking paper, because I can't imagine someone doing what I'm picturing in my mind for a job?

Hmm, I guess Copper did completely forget about her weakness after all. Oh well at least she knows what to do when such things happen.

Hehe, and that's why I call it shaking, instead of jogging. It's even better in person. XD

Newspaper, you shake the papers against a table after they come out of the machine, to align the spines of the various flyers and whatnot, to strap them easier.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

All this time I thought that delivering the papers was a boring job, and it turns out there was a more boring job involved.

EDIT: You know I have a question which I've never seen any where else. Now I understand that most of the Camarilla follow the path of humanity, including the elders. However I would imagine that a lot of the elders would be incapable of following humanity after so long. So why do they only have paths that correspond to the independent and Sabbat clans. I realize that they could learn one of the other paths if they found a teacher, but most of the paths I've seen wouldn't really work for a Camarilla type, even if they are balls-out insane from being alive for so long. I guess they could just never mention the paths in any of the books since you wouldn't normally be making those kinds of characters, but it still kind of bugs me.

But, wouldn't revealing all the rules, paths and abilities of the eldest and most powerful ruin their mystery?

Well it wouldn't ruin it for me, but if it ruins it for you just close your eyes if either Copper or Shrike give an answer.

Re: Laws of the Night OOC and Discussion

Most of the elders do keep to humanity, as far as I know. But they can only sustain it at a very low level, usually 2 or 3 out of 10. Most of the paths don't align with the camarilla, which is why you don't find them very often there.
