I'm still going to be using the 1.0 rules for a while, and I haven't decided how I'd like to deal with converting old characters yet. If you want, you can wait, but the next game won't start for a little while yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that already in place? You could easily "multiclass" by taking the appropriate talent for it. Like say, necromancer and evoker. Seems simple enough.

Okay, with slightly more time I had a brief look at magic.

It's... mostly pretty good, actually. I ran a quick mage character with the following relevant items:

24-14-12 attribute split (24 mind)
Strong of Mind (+8 mind)
Concentration (+8 base casting)
Focus in {} (+12 {} casting)
Lucky (+3 to all non-damage rolls)
Experienced caster (access to all level 3 spells)

That's all the modifiers for casting I could get, and approximately a 50/25/25 split for attributes, which I would consider to be the high end of reasonable for a non-min-maxed character.

For non {} spells, this gives a range of 28-47. For {} spells, it gives a range of 40-59. That's just barely enough to guarantee success on level 5 {} spells, and gives 90% success on level 3 non-{} spells, with no penalties. That seems about reasonable. A focused/experienced mage shouldn't screw up often without some sort of penalty.

With penalties, though.... well, if you're being raped you're almost certainly going to be at -40 to casting all the time. That means a 0% chance of succeeding in any non-{} spells, even cantrips, and a 0% chance of succeeding in any {} spells of level 3 or greater. The only bright point is the auto-success on level 1 and 2 {} spells granted by the "focus" talent. It seems pretty harsh, but... well, you are being raped and you aren't *completely* screwed since you have level 1 and 2 {} spells available.

If I were to offer a minor suggestion to improve the situation, it would be to make "experienced caster" also give auto-success on all cantrips, or to put a cap on the total of penalties you might suffer.

Here's a quick summary of the damages with the aforementioned traits/stats plus evoker:

(not improved by evoker below this line)

Haven't compared this to spirit/warrior so I can't really comment further except to say this is the spread my current sample character gives. But in itself... I think evoker may give too much benefit to low-level spells as compared to high-level spells. Can't really think of a way to improve it while keeping it trivial to compute.

Oh, and a quick question: is the upkeep cost for buffs multiplied by the level as well? As-written it appears to cost 1 energy per round to upkeep a level 1 spell, and 1 energy per round to upkeep a level 5 spell.

[Attacking] When a character makes some form of direct attack with a weapon or magic, I go through the following formula: (d20 + Main Stat + bonuses) vs (Opponents Dodge) If the PC wins, it's a hit, and I roll damage.

To-hit is main stat based? So, my (theoretical) wizzad, with 4 body and 30 mind, has +30 to swording dudes just from attributes?


Also, I noticed that Mutated didn't have a *. While I'm sure you would veto abuse of that, I am nonetheless going to take Tight 9 times and create VICECUNT, SLAYER OF M-

I believe that it's supposed to mean the stat relavent to the attack, so mind for magic and body for physical attacks.

Assuming I've got the mechanics down, AFAIK that body bonus is high enough to really not worry about shit ever. 60 dodge should be enough to guarantee mooks can't hit me - if not, defensive fighting can boost that to 80 and still have 80 to-hit, correct?

With the body bonus, PP and Resistance are are high enough to resist damn near any attempt at rape that somehow gets past a grapple.

AoE spells are a problem. Assuming I'm fighting thetwo's mage down there (which I'm basing this off of)... I can close the 50 foot range for AoE spells in one turn, but if they get the drop on me, or they're like flying or up on a roof or something, I lose. If there's two, I'm pretty boned. This is considering they're using level 5 spells, though, which are hard enough to cast that non-boss wizzads won't be able to cast it consistently, right?

Overall, untouchable by mooks, similarly formidable against big bosses, but lose to high-level magic wielders.

...Are there rules for throwing weapons? I imagine that mace to be like a tiny wrecking ball, and carrying spare tiny wrecking balls to hurl at shit sounds pretty awesome. How about throwing people? I could probably toss guys pretty far, pretty hard.

Heh, that was one thing I noticed as well. A user with a 50/25/25 split (which I consider not unreasonable) and body as an offstat can move a grand total of... .8 MPH. A casual walk could easily be 2, and a brisk walk 4.

I'm less concerned that a frankly ridiculous character is doing 100m dash in 32 seconds (when real people can manage it in 10) because obviously you're not going to be sprinting all out, since you can move *and* do an action in one round.

Not sure people with low body (witches/priestesses) care very much about quick movement, though, so probably not a big deal.

And yea, it's always going to be possible to min-max to ridiculous lengths. This is a problem in online and competitive games, but when we have a real live GM who can approve/disapprove posts I don't consider the possibility to be a fundamental flaw in the rules. If tass is OK with 104 body, then no problem. If he's not... I'd consider that an egregious enough violation of the spirit of an RP to deny the character. Or stick them up against a pair of mage bosses in their first room.

If he comes up with a good enough backstory, I'd allow it. And there are plenty of ways of going after characters with retardedly high Body scores. :D

Edit: Also, I'm willing to start a playtest for the 2.0 rules, and am willing to accept up to 4 people.

I'd be willing to test a mage for you, but I'd prefer to make up a different character then Ashley, even if not by much mechanically. I'll write up a sheet before I go to bed.

@Playtesting: Would also be willing to test the new rules for you, as a spirit user. However, I will abstain from using Enigma (despite loving the character and desiring to port her over), and whip up something a bit different. Maybe a shadowmancer or the likes.

Characters for playtesting should be as simple as possible. Backstories, if present at all, should be exceedingly simple. Also, you should expect, at some point, to be raped, as I'm basically going to throw each character into a gauntlet of increasingly difficult enemies and challenges and see who gets the farthest. When a character gets KO'ed for a third time, their run will be over. Sheets for it can be put up here.

Yeah, I wouldn't actually expect to get that pass Tassadar. I was just looking at the stats and went "wait... if I boost Body like way up I turn invincible."

My favorite at the moment seems to be the aforementioned FELLKISS, DEVOURER OF MEN, who, despite being sorta also a min/max exercise, oddly seemed to come out less terrible than I'd imagined. Mostly cuz' I wrote in a goal for her, I guess.

Note: List any game play-relevant value here as what that value is for YOUR character. Bio/Description:
Once a devout nun, now the tongue-iest ho in the land, grandmaster of blowjob-fu. Even has a pupil!

Her covent was attacked one day by a demon uprising, caused by a heretic amongst them summoning a demon lord, who brought his army with him. He came in the dead of night, when the nuns were asleep; thus, very little holy fire was slung before they were subdued.

The Lord brought her and what remained of the convent's women along as he campaigned on the mortal world, where they serviced his troops, but eventually he was defeated. The betrayer escaped, and what nuns survived the exhaustion and shit were extensively mutated and broken, if not fully corrupted (i.e. fledgling succubi, that fled/fought/whatever with the army). Gloria had always been a tough woman, and managed to come out of it intact in both mind and body. After the weeks on weeks of non-stop boning she's become quite opposite the chaste nun she was before, fucking for fun and profit.

Mostly works as a prostitute, travelling from city to city. Her mouth is legendary; the mutations caused by the demon army had an unusually focused effect on it, making the tongue significantly longer, more dextrous, and more powerful - it's almost prehensile, and it's rumored (but not confirmed) to exude powerful aphrodesic pheromones.

ALTERNATIVELY (NPC modo)
As above, but she doesn't really give a shit about that anymore. She's happy go lucky, wandering the world blowing everything, cuz' life's too short to blow (1d20 philosophical deepness and eloquence: 1). The other survivors in varying states may or may not exist.


PLOT HOOK/MOTIVATION
When the demon army fled, they left 3 of the sisters behind, along with Gloria. Only one of them were not completely broken. 5 were unlucky enough to have been taken during the retreat (3 by the demons, 2 by human bandit "auxiliaries"/conscripts/recruits), and least 4 had become succubi. The Betrayer yet lives.

She travels hoping to reunite them, or at least find out what happened to them. The 3 she starts with travel with her in a wagon (ALT: in a castle?). It works as a roving brothel, both to sate Berniece and Allison, and to raise money.
