Custom Ranged Weapon template. I got it from Tass yesterday, and proceeded to dick around with it for a cannon. :x All the current shooty bits are made using it.

BASE
Damage: 2d6, AV 0
Range: 10 ft
shots: 1
Reload: 1t

Points for construction
16 for two-handed; 12 for one-handed.
+1 ammo - 1 pt
5 ft range - 1 pt
+1 dmg - 1 pt
+4 AV - 1 pt
+1 dice (i.e. 2d6 to 3d6) - 2 pts
+1 dice step (i.e. 2d6 to 2d8) - 2 pts
+/-1 reload turns - -3/+3 pts

**EDIT**
Now that weapon ranges work in increments, range has been reduced to 5 feet for one point.

I had wondered how the fuck one rapes a slime.
I would have thought the in game representation is that it "finishes" before you do. The typical guy finishing before the woman ever does scenario. The slime spills its bucket so to say and then really doesnt have much left to do after that, does it? That the player character is still conscious enough to walk away from the encounter is a bonus.

As a casual observer so far with most of the DG stuff, I interpret most barely sentient beings as being nothing more than essentially one track minds. Find host (the player character), rape host, plant seed, and leave after reproduction finishes. Its just a base instinct for a monster to want to reproduce via raping the player every so often.

Then again I am thinking way too far into this arent I?

So, as DG3 is starting, and the game has slowed to a crawl due to a number of issues (Skyrim, distractions in the shoutbox, my own ineptitude, Skyrim again, my social life, lazyness, finishing up the final touches on the rules as stupid things are pointed out, Skyrim, making the monster sheets, Skyrim....) Right, anyway. As some may or may not have noticed, I have run a few real time sessions with people, and the system holds up well enough under those conditions. So, when people run into slow spots or parts where a lot of questions are likely to be asked, or into long combats that will take more than 3 turns, I might offer them a session to move things along more quickly, if they like.

Don't nag me for a session, or for posts for that matter. It won't help. Especially when I can instead have guards nag me for gold after I accidentally hit one of them while fighting to defend their village from a dragon. That sort of nagging is acceptable because I can murder them for it.

Quick Talent suggestion that came up through shoutbox discussion yesterday.

[General Talent]
Pleasure Resistant: The character is more resistant to feelings of pleasure than most, either naturally or through mental or physical conditioning. Grants the character a -4 reduction to PP damage whenever PP damage would be taken.


The idea is that, while there are Talents that reduce HP damage (Pain Resistant, which adds 4 AV) and EP damage (Resistant Soul, which reduces EP damage/drain by 4), there isn't one that gives a blanket reduction to PP damage. This would do that.

When and if Six gets herself a thread, perhaps may I suggest Tass she get a seperate DM? That way, you're not overstressing your allready heavy workload of character updates just on a person's secondary character ^^;

I know it's a bit late (read: after) the development process but I have a suggestion for the Lay on Hands power in the Holy Magic spirit tree:

Lay on Hands seems like it could use a bit of love. It does have the benefit of being completely reliable in its heal (no casting check and no randomization in the numbers) but tends to be less potent, more costly, and offer less versatile than some of the other healing options. I'm suggesting allowing it to offer a small temporary HP boost as a secondary function in order to increase its versatility a bit and to offer it the chance to be a bit more proactive in damage reduction.

Something like this, maybe?

Lay on Hands
Fluffaluffagus.
-The character pays X EP.
-Then, they choose one of the following effects:
1) One touched creature regains 4X HP.
2) One touched creature gains 2X Temporary HP until the end of the encounter. Using this function twice on the same target in a single encounter discards the lesser temporary HP pool.

The numbers might require a bit of adjustment but the reasoning for the low temporary HP boost is that without an upkeep breaking the spirit ceiling becomes a more appealing option, although I imagine it could also be adjusted to a buff that could be cast on others offering increased HP and armor, or something, with a normal upkeep. Additionally, an option to grant Temporary HP tends to be far more useful than retroactively healing for healer types in a system where the battles are intended to be short and fierce.

Ye suggestion for a new Psion Spirit Power, Empathy.

the idea comes from some shit in my thread. Basically, you feed sensory input to a target, and they take any pleasure or HP damage you do.

I was thinking, a cheaper-EP version could have it be both ways - that is, if you stab the target, you end up hurt too - with a far more expensive version with no feedback ("you sync your senses together" and "you isolate your senses and send it over the connection") or something.

Obviously stupidly powerful, so there should probably be a resistance check in there somewhere, or something...

Tass suggested it be added to Telepathy, but uh I kinda wanted it to replace Mind Plunder, as info searches are a little situational in DG, when so many things are non-sentient, and Telepathy is pretty good already. :x I'd suggest consolidating Plunder and Break together, making that a more invasive power - I dunno, Mind Worm or something.

I want to SAVE YE DESERT with my spidertank. I also want to MAKE YE SLIME KINGDOM with a slime character of some sort. (ye character sheets). Anyway, yeah, interest?

I know it's been suggested that a map be made for Dark Gate, but berhaps the first step for this is to establish where each location is relative to each other and perhaps from there make a simple flow chart. Just a suggestion.

Why the flying fuckcicle are you posting under your faggy ass alt account?

Also, I had an idea for the Alchemist spirit skillset. It's similar to the Chemical Splash ability but it would require the character to use monster drops and X EP (the EP acting as a catalyst to activate the potion/poisons as well as the more EP used the stronger the end result will be) to create a variety of potions and poisons. Potions could range from healing items to stat/damage buffs and invisibility potions and the poisons could cause a variety of status ailments including a new one for poison as well as debuffing enemies.

I finally thought of how to word the description for a spell that I wanted to suggest adding to DG for Succubi. I call it the "Seal of Humiliation".

The player creates magic, glowing pentagram on the ground and forces the target onto his/her/its back with his/her/its arms and legs spread, each of thier hands, feet, and their head lined up with it's respective point on the star. Then, smaller glowing pentagrams form around the target's wrists, ankles, and neck, holding her helplessly in place.

Alright, some stuff.

@Iggy: That's something that would only really work on a helpless target, so I'd more likely leave that as an RP only thing rather than a mechanical one.

@Oni: Same, really. I suppose I could make an ability for making potions/poisons, or somesuch, but idk. I haven't had them so far, and making more rules when the forum seems to break any post that I try to edit sounds like a great way to make myself smash my head into the wall.

@GargBlarg: I actually like the idea of combining those two powers into Mind Worm, so I suppose that I'll have to make this power now.

@Group Threads in general:
The slime kingdom idea that floated around when slimes became a playable race is one that I approve of. Also, as overflowing with work as I am, I still like Gargs saving the desert character, so if people want to that's open. I wouldn't expect either to get frequent updates.

Shadow Made Manifest suggestion!

Since the power has been re-worked to allow the caster to basically conjure a shadow-creature of the shape and size of their choosing, perhaps it would be fitting to allow the caster to give the conjured creature a few appropriate Physical or Special Mutations depending on the form the creature takes.

For example, if the player conjures a shadow-creature in the form of a large snake (like from the Anaconda movies, or Nagini from Harry Potter or something), it might be appropriate for it to gain the Mutation(s) 'Serpentine Body', 'Fearsome Maw' (without the venomous additions), and maybe 'Juggernaut'. Or if the player conjures a dragon (like from Skyrim or something, maybe smaller), it might have the 'Fearsome Maw', 'Dangerous Tail', 'Greater Wings', and/or 'Juggernaut' Mutations.

Doing this might require some alterations to the SMM Power itself. Maybe an additional EP cost for each mutation the creature is given and a cap on which ones and how many it can get, but it seems appropriate to add something like this to this Power (and maybe to others if appropriate) with the way it functions now.

People who uses Shadows Made Manifest, Lay on Hands or Psion powers should look at the changes. Those who had Mind Break and/or Memory Plunder in particular.
