I had a old account that I think had some of the licenses things connected to that may be useful. Could assist there, was always good with the bilging game.

Sweet

Keep in mind that unless you've bought more than 10 dollars worth of dubloons, they probably deleted your account after a few months of inactivity though

Poke me on steam for it, Xenusicelon (Though I'm decently sure you already have me on there)

I have been known to rumble down a few scurvydogs in my time, I'll probably be around as well here and there.

I'm now co-owner of a Puzzle Pirates crew. Just send me a poke if you want in, it's amusing puzzling and parlor games.
While having a nice pirate house and outfits and a hoard to build up

There should be unofficial translations of the mother 2 and 3 roms out there if you looking to continue. Both pretty solid games.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Well, it would appear that the new Batman Arkham Knight port to PC is buggy as balls. GG.

Wish people could stop preordering games.

Got me there. Been forever since I played a snes rom. Anyway, Mother 1 and Mother 3 translated roms should be found easily enough.

Edit; To add to Craw's post above, ninja'ed by a bit. XD

News regarding the much hyped game 'Batman; Arkham Knight'.
It's PC port was so utterly broken on , Warner Bros has officially , with another provider saying it will also pull AK from sale if it's not fixed soon. .

Also, TotalBiscuit's for the game, enjoy.
Edit; TB again;

Well, Mother 1 was recently released for the Nintendo EShop. All they need to do now is release Mother 3 in English for the EShop.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

After asking some derps about interest I am currently hosting a Terraria 1.3 server.
Difficulty is (after a definite majority vote) Expert, this means phatter lewt and improved AI for bosses and such so expect a challenge that can't be cheesed through.
Size is Medium after some discussion. But if people complain about it being too small for their egos it can be fixed. (Unless you complain after this has been already started)
IP/Password will be disclosed via PM/Steam/Skype/IRC or wherever the fuck yon derps have me on in order to keep randumbs out.
Also this is a fresh-start obviously, so no end-game characters.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

It seems that 6.2 is going to be Warlords of Draenor's last "proper" patch (barring the flying 6.2.x patch).

Talk about an expansion lacking content. I'm kinda pissed off on behalf of all the people still paying money to play this game - a price that they even increased.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Since the news I was going to post in the news thread is way too depressing even for me, have some reviews!

Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?!

Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! is a game about running a weapons store/blacksmith in an RPG universe filled with...Potatoes

The world seems cute, loaded with potato puns along with simple yet good graphics, but with only a few things to do in it no amount of looking pretty and cute dialogue is going to redeem the fact that in its essence it's a waiting game.

That's right, there's no real simulation or management here(Thanks steam tags!), with you just sending your potatoes out to do things and then waiting for them to come back. Or alternatively, telling them to make a weapon and then waiting for them to finish. The large part of this game is waiting for things to be done so that you can tell them to do more things...And then you wait some more.
This may be fine and well for a timewaster game on an iphone, but it just does not cut it for an actual PC game. You sit and wait for your potatoes to be done and you are occasionally thrown a random event which is a reference to an older game with two options which can both be a success (Minor, barely noticable effect on a single potatosmith), or a bad event which will give you a slight bad effect on a single potatosmith. In the end, you can just skip most of them and you wouldn't lose out on anything. It relies purely on it's 'humour' of gaming references and potato puns to be interesting, which does not make for a good game.

There is simply no gameplay to be had. No real managing your store, or figuring out what to do best, just telling your spuds to go do stuff and then waiting for them to do it. I would say it is closer to an interactive screensaver with pretense of being a game than it is to actually being a game - Sad too, as I was hoping to find a good management game

With a price of 15 euro, I would say it is severely overpricing itself. If it were in an app store, for maybe 5 euro/dollar I could see it succeed, but at this price and on a PC it has no chance at all. If you are still curious about it, pick it up at a sale, but don't bother with it full price unless you are a very patient person, and you do not mind not having anything to do.

Payday 2

Oh boy, reviewing Payday 2. What's there to say?
It's the essence of 'good enough' turned into a game. It does not have many noticable good points nor many obviously noticable flaws.

It's an fps game with decent graphics, decent guns, and decent action. You can sneak missions or just go in and shoot everything up. Most objectives are fairly simple 'loot x and move the bags to extraction point y', which earned it a nickname of 'Bag moving simulator'. Luckily, most later missions move away from 'just move loads of bags' to more interesting missions, but the majority of missions are still fairly simple looting missions.

Loot that you can use mainly to buy more guns, and at times a customised mask. Aside from that, your money is essentially just a number that goes up after you win a mission. You should not have any problem with money unless you are actively avoiding the higher difficulty missions(Which are not all that tough except on Deathwish difficulty). Most of the higher difficulties are only just adding more health or damage to the cops, or adding more specials like tasers and riot shields.
The game as a whole feels unfinished, as though they reached the halfway point in making it and then decided 'good enough, polish it a bit and start selling'. Considering the DLC they've put out, I highly doubt they had any actual plans past this first half, or maybe they just cancelled whatever they had, I can't say it's showing any sort of long term planning.

Being a 4-player team based game, of course you are best off playing with friends. Teamwork is essential for some of the harder missions and difficulties. You will generally find it much more enjoyable if you play with people you know, as it is at its core about a group of four friends working together to pull of heists.
In the end, it's an alright game, with DLC piled upon DLC with DLC attached, most of which are extra guns or cosmetic changes, with a few of them being new heists to do. It's worth noting that only one in four players needs the heist DLC, and the rest can join the host without owning it.

In the end, Payday 2 is alright, it does just enough to be considered good and playable but not much past that. If you have friends to play with, pick it up when it's on sale, have yourselves a good time and then shelve it again - There isn't much replay value past achievements and trying to just bring your money number as high as possible. No endgame, no safehouse customisation, and no way to really spend your ingame money, just more of the same heists you've already done.
