I dunno. I guess they've seen it somewhere here.
As a proofreader you don't really have to play the game. I have scripts in .txt files, so you just go through them and correct the mistakes. If you have free time and is good with english, I guess I could take you as a proofreader.

Yeah, those two are the only ones. The other ones are WIP.

Ah. Well, if that's all there is to it, I'm always available should you need another proofreader in future projects. All I have is free time, so I can devote the entire day to the work should you need me to. Anything to help you along.

I did a quick skim to try and get a summary from things.

From the 9 DLsite games, 2 have been translated by Ritsu.

Kaname, which Ritsu took dibs on. XD

From the freeware games (not from DLsite), one has been translated.
Ayasaki, translated by spkrforthedead.

If any corrections or updates were missed, please, do tell.
For one, I do not know if any of the projects were dropped.

Quick update on Demon Girl:

The battle text is done, and I've finished the endings. All that's left is the H-scenes, and I'm about a third of the way through them. Probably won't finish up before the end of the year, but it looks like Ritsu will be soon able to release Shion, which should keep you lot busy for a little while.

SPC is going pretty slowly, I have been busy.

However, before I got busy I did a lot of work tool-side working on things to extract all the text lines (there is a lot of text in SPC, including a lot of duplicate lines).

I have a file full of the unique lines, with a few translations done. If people wanted to work on translating this file, then I have the scripts written to put the translations back into swf decompiler format and from there back into translated swfs.

If anybody wants to take a whack at it here is the unique file:

FYI: This shouldn't be the problem, but for the replacing of kotoba.$text to kotoba.$htmlText I use the replace all button so you don't have to keep doing the find and replace over and over again.

Your error code appears to be in German. I think from what the first line of the error says is that some type of method or process is not implemented in the scriptcompiler program. I do not receive that error on my end.

I am attaching a zip with the Swf Translator tools and my working copy of the orekko.swf.script.

I know the script on my system works. I would like for you to download the zip and to run ScriptCompiler.exe and see if you get the same error. Everything will be set up, all you will need to do is run the ScriptCompiler program. If you get the same error, then something might be missing on your system.

I'm going to pass this error on to ytinasni and see if this requires any special installed programs with your system in addition to what is in the folder.

What system are you running this on by the way? (OS, service pack, etc.) I noticed that if I try to run either the script programs or the translator programs on my virtual install of Windows XP (bare bones) it throws multiple errors, but if I run this program on my Windows 7 box, everything works.

Ditto what he said. I also have all day myself to offer. If we're just reading off of the text from files, then doubly so, I could clock that stuff in under a day for sure. I don't keep a bookshelf of novels next to me because I'm a slow reader, hahahaa.

Yes thats what its saying.

I downloaded your zip and unpacked it. So after double clicking on ScriptCompiler i get the exact same error message...

Like many microsoft products, Vista became acceptable around service patch 2. The people who laud XP now forget the horror it was before the service packs(ESPECIALLY with wireless network selection), but we of technical support never forget... and never forgive.

I know that feel bro. I finished the battle and story text for Archer Girl. All that's left is one main ending and 3 scenes. For having sex... they sure do talk alot.

An interesting note concerning sex scenes:
They're like 60% identical. So you can just copypaste already translated blocks of text into each other.

To the other translators:

Do you adhere to any kind of guidelines when it comes to onomatopoeia and utterences? I thought there was a list somewhere, perhaps on Hongfire or something, which some scanlators had put together. Can't find it now.

The Demon "King"'s laugh uses the "fu" character (as in "fu fu fu...") and I'm torn between leaving it as "fu" or "hu". She says "ku" a lot, which is a kind of angry exclamation like "grr", but "ku" doesn't mean anything to an English speaker and I don't really like "grr". I guess I can accept that most of the readers will be familiar with some basic Japanese and would put up with common phraseology, things like "-san" and "itadakimasu" , so I've been leaving things like this as phonetic translations for the moment, just wondered if anyone who had done some translation work before had any opinions on this.

I need to read more raw manga.

I caught that but how do you know which ones to copy and paste?

Keep copies of the translation with the original Japanese. If you see something familiar, search another file for the exact line. If you find it, voila.

There's a lot you can do in one day if you put your mind to it.

While certainly not a translator, and while the opinions of people will vary, I personally think that if someone has not yet accustomed themselves to glorious nipponisms like the "fu fu" princess laugh or "ku" as an expression of anger, and yet seeks to play this game, then this game should serve them as their baptism of fire.

Maybe include a little note in a .txt file or something, because damnit, that is how up and coming weaboos learn these things.

Personally I favor alot of the phonetic translations, but on a note of general appeal I would say perhaps swaping in something like 'Heh he he he' would work if you're too terribly bothered by Fu fu fu, but I think Fu is fine. As for Ku, I haven't got any ideas for ya there. I don't think it would be readily understandable as it is, unlike Fu fu fu which is easily recognizable. Unfortunately I don't think I've encountered it enough to understand how it's used in context and give any suggestions. I can't play it in my head.

I've been using Fufufu, KusuKusu and all that stuff. All onomatopoeia are romanji, I'm basing my translation off of Vampire Hunter N.

I replace them with hehehe and such. I don't really think words like fufufu work well in english. If I were translating things to russian, I certainly wouldn't use fufufu. It just wouldn't do at all.

Im gonna be brutally honest but a big chunk of fans of japanese games (including me) HATE half translations. They look weird,they are out of place and it looks like people want to show off.

Also, about the "grr" problem, I would put a streched "Hmm", Because its more suitable for a king and "Elegant".Thats the way i picture her anyway.
