As long as the actual translation is available, before and without Getbend's "Substitutions", I suppose that is acceptable, but otherwise the thing isn't even worth looking at.

"Would it be ok to send me the script? Many lines sound really strange and it will be easier if i have the text beside me. Perhaps i can rewrite it more appropriately."

But if you guys prefer it the other way, well... I guess I can't say anything about it.

No problem for me, an old saying did say something like:
"You can't save/safe everyone."

I understand that this phrase means that:
"I can't make everyone happy or I can't please everyone"

As long as the context is the same, it's alright.
I mean is not like the text is a nobel prize winner, and I would have to say that it's true that between lenguages the words differ, don´t be so harsh with the translators, they are doing their best .

Thank you very much for defending this project and offering us a tutorial for re-compiling the txt files( i could use that). Also i find it very funny that no one even bothered checking my scripts before they accused me of "misrepresenting the JSK works"

I'm interested in reading what's actually in the game, not something that you think is more "tasteful" or "memorable" or whatever other goddamned nonsense is running through your head.

I hope somebody else translates Shogun Princess Christianne later.

Hey Mr. Cynical, do you have any idea about how Japanese-English translations are done? I guess not, judging by your behavior. These 2 languages are so different that when translating from Japanese to English, you have to make assumptions depending on context and a bit of tweaks because those 2 languages are VERY different. For example if you translate 私に奉仕させて勝ちを誇ろうというのだな without any editing it comes out like "Let me serve for boasting your win." Doesn't make sense right? Instead translators will have to change it to something that actually makes sense
like "Making me serve/service you to boast in your victory..." so don't rampage around without knowing anything about these stuff and accusing people.

Your example doesn't even make sense.

The line you're talking about means "Making/letting me service you is like boasting about your win." It can be translated in a few different ways but the meaning should be roughly that. There's no literal translation really.

The character isn't making a request because Te-form doesn't make it a request in this context. It is used to continue the sentence after using a verb. Even if it was a request, if that's what the game's author wrote then that's what I want to see in the translation.

I agree with Lucky777. I want to know exactly what the characters are saying. I don't care if the translator would prefer that they said something else. The translator is not the author of the game.

I followed the guide, but the main file says it has problems translating, and it is stuck to the old translation. Any help?

Did you use the dumped file from the SWF.Dumper.Exe?
I just realize that overwriting the Original text document with the Translated text document will cause errors, as the file wasn't came from the dumped SWF.

I tried to overwrite the translation with the one you've checked and it gave me the same error.

So I suggest you don't overwrite it, and do the copy-paste through the entire text document manually.
I'll update the album with a more accurate one.

If the problem still occur, I need a more specific step by step how you do it.

I've tried it one more time and I didn't encounter the error, all I do is:
Open the Translated text document and then select all (CTRL+A).
Copy the entire document (CTRL+C).
Open the dumped Original Text Document (The one inside the translation folder.)
Select all once again (CTRL+A) and paste it (CTRL+V).

After that re-compile it using the SWF.Translator.Exe
I guess it have something to do with the original SWF file, cause when you dump the script out of the SWF.
Something marked that text document, so you can only re-compile it back if it's still the same text document.

Just like save files for Flash games on your PC, if you rename any of the 2 files.
The save file can't be detected by either your browser or the PC it's self.

Anyone encountered the same problem even after not overwriting.
I'll post the translated game.

Ok, i just used a raw japanese SPC and it worked. Sorry for dragging you into this ''war of translations'' and thanks for the tutorial. Maybe i should take a break for some time

When you read the quoted part of the post, the part to which I was responding, the part obviously under discussion, if you happen to see any strange and complex difficulties regarding the niceties of Japanese-to-English translation, you probably need your eyes checked.

Some sort of assessment of your intelligence might be in order as well, in that situation, but I suspect you wouldn't like the result.

In your defence, I too was a bit inexact: When I said "I hope someone else translates SPC Later" I was under the impression that the entire project was rendered suspect by Getbend's self-admitted meddling, in which he engaged in preference to properly proof-reading the thing and changing only grammatical issues or usage of expressions which HAVE NO EQUIVALENT in English.

Like I later said, if an actual accurate translation was available, I'd be content to have a look at that - although I know full well that if it's GilgameshNoborosuke's translation, it'll be in need of proof-reading, which I haven't the time to provide.

In the original SPC translation, as you may now have, the word sex isn't in there, only 'do it now" (Extra mode 2) and "make love" (service). Again i change this when i TRANSLATE, NOT WHEN IM PROOFREADING.Meaning i do other translations, and i was too bloody stupid to correct my post.

There, happy now?

Thank you very much for your understanding, compliment and the Rep+. Also i promise you that i will never translate, only proofread a Jsk game. I will be more careful and i won't stray from my role.

I've re-upload the tutorial, for those who encounter errors.
Please refer to Guide 013, I've explain it in the way I know.
Hopefully it's simple enough for everyone to understand it.
