Mary pondered on her own for a moment while Jeff spoke up. "Well, I'm not quite sure how it best works, but it isn't a bad thing to have a place to return too after a long day of adventuring or something. We could probably ask Tom for some advice though, I'm not quite sure if there's any place for sale around either."

Mary just nodded, somewhat lost.

Sounds reasonable enough. She walked up to the bar and waited until he diverted his attention from setting up. When she had his attention, she said hey Tom, the three of us are actually looking to buy a house of some sort. Any idea what's available around here, and what it costs?

"Hmm" Tom looks up as he finishes moving some glasses around under the bar. "Lemme think for a moment." And he does. "Oh, I think there was some talk of a new construction near the western gates. A medium sized adjustable place. The main construction is a large room, but the people who worked on it will change the interior of it for whoever buys it. I've heard it costs about...Oh, I think 24000?"

Alyssa knows from Mary that the party has about 30000 worth of treasure at the moment.

Alright, thanks. She turned the Mary and Jeff. Sound good to you guys? Because it sounds perfect to me. If the others agreed, she would go towards the western gate to find the house and buy it.

And so the party traveled to the western gate. They found a notice there about who to contact about the empty building, and they went and found the man, a middle aged carpenter by the name of Jim. He readily sold them the house, and after hearing how they'd like the interior, said it'd be done within a week.

Of course, he suggested in the meantime that since they seemed to be an adventuring party, they could surely find adventure.

So, they returned to the Inn, and asked Tom, who was able to give them a few leads.

Make up any sort of interesting leads you'd like

Tom told them of an abandoned mine in the mountains not far to the west, bounding the swamp they had just exited. Supposedly there was quite a bit of gold at the bottom of it, but the rumors that it was haunted had discouraged adventurers from attempting to claim it. Of course, this made it all the more appealing to Alyssa, as she'd much rather fight monsters or ghosts than people throwing nets at her. The three of them set out for this haunted mine, hoping to come back to a finished home with even more treasure.

The party journeys west, having a mostly uneventful journey, except for this one problem about halfway through.

When they found the bandits, again.

Oh come the fuck on, really? This game is just messing with me now. Alyssa drew her sword, readied her shield, and sized up her enemies. They don't look that tough, guys, but keep your guard up. I'll attack first, and maybe they'll just throw their nets at me. Oh joy... She ran at the nearest bandit to slash him, bracing herself for the nets that were coming. Hopefully she could dodge them.

The combat erupts, both Alyssa and Jeff getting a solid hit on the first net guy, Mary missing with her blast as the two nets only manage to ensnare air.

Alyssa was prepared for the nets this time, dodging both of them and cutting into the bandit in the same fluid motion. Alright, that went better than I expected it to. This guy looks like he's about ready to drop, and then it's three against one. Should be easy. She attacked the man again, briefly wondering if she'd just jinxed herself.

Alyssa managed another hit on the bandit, Jeff also landing a solid one, knocking the guy down. Mary misses with her blast, as the other bandit lands a solid hit on Alyssa, knocking the wind out of her.

Alyssa smiled as Jeff finished off the bandit. He's actually getting useful. We might end up having a fairly easy time of this from now on. Unfortunately, she wasn't paying a lot of attention to her surroundings, and got a punch to the gut for it. She gasped and stumbled back a few steps before launching herself at the man, looking for vengeance.

Hm. Sort of disappointing that they weren't carrying anything. Oh well. Let's keep moving. She knew she was a little bit tired, but figured it really wasn't worth eating a ration over. She'd recover eventually, she was sure.

The rest of the journey is uneventful, though Alyssa never feels less tired. They reach the entrance to the mine, where a sign warns them of powerful monsters ahead.

And a pop up."Dungeon Level is 2. Monsters are more powerful and have additional health."

Alright, game. Throw me a curveball. Well that doesn't sound ominous at all. Let's go, guys. She walked with confidence into the mine, hoping for a bit of challenge.

The party moves into the mine, it's not long before they encounter a large monster. A huge slime that almost fills up the entire hallway.

Holy crap. At least it'll be hard to miss. I think. She ran up to the slime and slashed at it. I wonder if that even does anything to a slime this huge...
