All the varied mass of tentacles poured out after them, moving on out of the castle. Once they had gotten out into the streets smoke was already rising from the stone structure, one of the final acts of their victory. There seemed to be almost no soldiers left in the city, or at least none who hadn’t shed their weapons and armor already. Instead people were starting to poke their heads out of windows, staring at the sight of their now former ruler being paraded about the city.

Most of the people seemed to view the scene with a mixture of disgust, sadness, and resignation, at least for the first part of the journey. Then Mei-Lien and her procession reached the poorer parts of town, and she started to see a much different reaction. There were many who seemed quite happy over the sight of the nude royalty, apparently not having been quite content with her reign. Once they had reached the slums of the city every other window seemed to have a blonde leaning out of it, and soon they were throwing things at the fallen queen. The former queen of the city was a bloodied, battered mess as she stood there, looking to Mei-Lien for her next orders, and the lieutenants that had followed along were also looking for their dismissal, seeing their job as more or less finished now.

The lieutenants began to wander off, some with thanks for their dismissal, others silently, most of them seemingly happy that the whole ordeal was over. The tentacles began to filter off as well, heading either back to the castle or wherever else they lived. Tess finally spoke up after a while, saying "it's good to see you back. Where are the others, though? We kind of started dinner for you, and then came out here to wait. We should get inside, find the others, and have a nice meal."

It wasn't any surprise that she felt like this, but at least both parties were most likely safe and carrying on with their lives. Finally Tess too decided to speak up, informing the redhead about a meal that was waiting inside. "They already went inside. So yeah, maybe we should too. No real reason for us to sit here in the dark." the demoness agreed, letting the other two gather themselves before they would head inside.

They went back to the dining room then, to find Erica sitting there by now. "Good job today. They all sat down, and soon enough Rosa brought out the salads, topped with just a little bit of meat that she had quickly prepared. "Get it while it's hot, and then let's get to bed. It's been a long day" she said, setting it down in front of everyone and then sitting down to eat rapidly.
