(Elizabeth gains Amulet of Duty. I lose 10 sanity because I absentmindedly closed my post while trying to clean up tabs. ;_; )

It wasn't too difficult to rouse the busty noblewoman from her forced nap. A nudge here, a prod there, and Karina stirred. The curvy spellcaster seemed a little less than cognizant or reality at first, when her eyes focused in on the rogue's face she seemed to remember her surroundings. "I was so scared that thing would smash you!" Suddenly the girl wrapped the assassin in a hug. One which would either last what seemed the better part of a minute or until the assassin pried her overly concerned companion away.

When the emotional scene had ended, perhaps fortunately without Karina ever realizing the nature of the cloth-covered head the heiress was bringing along, it was time to move. The trip back to the servant's entrance was simple enough, made doubly easy by the mark she had cut into the wall. Karina was able to support herself the entire way, although like the assassin she was obviously sore from the beating. Unlike the assassin, the psychic noblewoman wasn't as good at working through the pain. Still, they encountered nothing else and ended up back at Alice's hiding spot.

Once there, when the rogue announced herself however she intended to, the wall would slide open with almost violent speed. The rogue had no time to dodge before she was crushed in an embrace. A maid's embrace. "I'm so happy to see you, milady!" Alice gasped in happy surprise as she threw herself at her mistress, wrapping her arms around the trophy carrying assassin. For the second time in mere minutes, the rogue had been trapped in a hug. The maid was a bit more aware of her lady's pains, however, and quickly backed off to begin healing the two of them.

The skinny maid spoke as she worked at mending the noblewomen. "Nothing came for me while you were gone, milady. I think the servant tunnels are safe. We should be able to go anywhere you want to, or at least get close to it." Regardless of what the assassin had to say, the healing process was finished in slightly under a minute. With the party at full health and finally ready to access the servant's tunnels, Elizabeth seemed capable of going anywhere she might want to try checking in the estate. Perhaps more importantly, she could get out of the building.

Elizabeth endured the hug from Karina, she kind of felt like she owed the Silrocio girl that much after stabbing her in the gut, though that debt was quickly running dry. “Yes well, we make a pretty good team. I don’t think that one will be getting up again.” Elizabeth said with an actually genuine smile, she liked killing things, particularly things that within all likelihood would have tried to rape her otherwise. It was, vindicating and once Karina released her from the embrace Elizabeth lead the two of them back down to the marked wall, swinging her head-bag almost as if it were a handbag.

Alice, it’s Elizabeth and Karina, open up.” Elizabeth knocked on the wall-door three times with her free hand, easier to get Alice to open it form the inside than to try and find the catch herself. She listened to the maid’s report, happy to hear that the young servant hadn’t had to fight anything with the knife she had given her; it was difficult to decide which would cause more harm, Alice knife fighting, or whatever it was she would fight against. “Excellent to hear, now make room.

The Silver heiress settled in behind the wall, dropping down to lean perpendicular to the servant’s corridor, head by her side, legs stretched out across the path. She needed a break; something to clear her head and decide her next move, the servant’s tunnels seemed a safe enough place to do that. So while Alice tended to her and Karina’s wounds, and for a good ten minutes thereafter, Elizabeth sat in thought.

She could indubitably take the servant’s tunnels to the servant’s entrance, which could be anywhere on the house, but would most likely lead them to someplace less grand, and exposed, than the forward courtyard, but that makeshift rope meant that someone had left through the courtyard, and there was the potential for tracking them down or catching up. Of course there was also the question as to whether she wanted to do that, the Necropolis was a big place, and like most cities dense and difficult to navigate for those who didn’t know it... though, would a noble think to fasten sheets together or to escape out a window? Most nobles Elizabeth had met were insufferable stuffed shirts…

And then there was the problem of getting to her cousin’s estate, and murdering him… she couldn’t spend all her time collecting stray cats.

The Silver heiress gave a great sigh and stood. “Alice, we’re leaving, take us to the courtyard.” Elizabeth could scan the courtyard for signs of their escapee, and then if she found nothing, she could continue on to her cousin’s estate. If she did find something… well, if they lead in the right direction, there was no sense in not following them, at worst the way would be cleared, at best they could catch up and adopt another stray kitten.

(Normally you would have to rest longer and risk sleeping to spend XP. It's okay this time since the servant tunnels are pretty safe anyway and I'm looking to be able to throw more horrible monsters at Elizabeth. >.>)

"Yes milady, Alice replied dutifully, though with a tinge of nervousness in her voice. The rogue, the psychic, and the maid navigated their way down the stairs with one-sixth of a person in tow, give or take. At the bottom of the stairs, probably below ground and under the mansion proper, were the tunnels. Judging by the amount of passageways and accesses available, the passageway the assassin found herself in was probably originally intended for more than just servants and perhaps more than just maintenance. There were various simple signs and markings and the occasional lantern. Based on the markings that Elizabeth noticed, there were one or two paths that connected to the basement area from each floor. Alice didn't seem to need the directions as she led the party.

After a few minutes of walking the eerily peaceful underground halls and finding nothing of interest, the maid brought them to a fairly heavy door, reinforced with iron and barred. The thin-framed maid struggled to remove the bar for a few seconds before Karina simply levitated it out of place and pushed the door open using her powers. "We weren't allowed to go this way because it leads to a building not directly connected to the estate and was a security risk." A little bit further and they were at a stairway which led to a trap door. "We can access the groundskeepers supply shed which has a direct access to the courtyard from this door," Alice spoke up. If the assassin checked, she wouldn't be able to hear or see any sort of enemy from the hatch. It would be difficult to get a good peek at what the room was like, however.

(I looked for a set amount of time or such but under the EXP thing it just says 'when you rest' Post I referenced and I didn't see any specifics on what 'resting' amounted to... Did I even spend on body right or did spend twice what +2 cost?)

Elizabeth made a mental note of the passageway; secret passages were always good things to know about. The Silver heiress did her best to memorize the pathway the young maid took, but it wasn't exactly a priority, she had her doubts that there would another time she’d find herself in the depths of the Dreslin tunnels.

"Alice step back, Karina stand ready." She drew her knives, looking up to the trapdoor, nodding back to Karina before approaching the door. Stepping slowly carefully up to it Elizabeth raised on arm over her head, holding her Long Knife ready to cut the ankles or shins of anything aggressive that revealed itself as she pressed up on the door with the broad of her forearm, her short knife standing ready to be buried into the body of whatever unfortunate creature happened to be in her way.

Answered in visitor message! Again, I apologize for missing that, it was my mistake.

Perception: Success
Stealth: Success (Well, there was technically nobody to stealth against. I won't pass up an opportunity to get all of Elizabeth's 18-20 rolls used up though. :p)

For once, the assassin wasn't greeted with a plethora of things ready to rape and/or otherwise attack her. Instead, as described by the maid, she found herself in the equivalent of a shed with several miscellaneous tools and gardening supplies. There was nobody, hostile or friendly, in the small building besides the rogue herself. Across from the stairway she was exiting from, Elizabeth saw a window. A particularly stealthy investigation, if the heiress chose to undertake it, would reveal that it faced out on the courtyard, towards the battered decorative gates. The grounds were as they had been the last time she surveyed them, littered with the occasional broken woman or slain man, with the much rarer broken man among them now. The assassin couldn't spot any active threats but couldn't entirely rule the possibility out.

The courtyard was fairly open and the daylight didn't leave many particularly good hiding places. It wasn't impossible that the assassin herself would be able to traverse it without being seen but she would probably need to get creative to get her stealth-challenged tagalongs through. Although whether or not anything was alive or around to see the trio was another question entirely. Alice and Karina would be willing to follow her order as soon as she gave the all clear.

Elizabeth gestured for the two girls to follow her up the hatch, but remained low and pressed her back against the wall beside the window, doing her best to edge herself around the corners to survey what of the courtyard she could from her limited prospective. She didn’t trust the dawn, things seemed too quiet and for some reason something in her gut was unsettled… of course that could just be her last ‘meal’ coming back on her.

The Silver rogue remained alert, but lowered her weapons as she scanned the shed. Garden supplies often made excellent improvised weapons, and as it was Karina could probably do better with a pitch fork than a candelabra, while Elizabeth would feel much better if Alice had something large, blunt, and easy to use until she had some more training with things small pointy and sharp, maybe a pickaxe or particularly large tree branch…

Continued Stealth Check: get comfortable, Elizabeth’s a rogue stealth is her SOP.
Perception check: to search the courtyard, (particularly for tracks of anykind)
Perception check: to search the shack for more improvised weapons for the party.

Karina was easy enough to find a weapon for and gladly replaced her candlestick with a pitchfork, obviously preferring that her weapon had a pointy end. Alice was a bit more difficult. The maid almost toppled when handed one of the heavy pickaxes and her test swings with an improvised club had the assassin nervous enough to take it away from her. Eventually the handmaid settled on a light and somewhat dull hatchet, at least she wouldn't be likely to harm her allies with it. The whole event was worth some small pang of pity for whatever trainer would be saddled with making the skinny maid into a respectable retainer of House Silver.

Elizabeth couldn't spot any tracks from the window, though they could have just been obscured from her position for all she could tell. Everything remained still in the courtyard, at least, nothing had come running at the shed after her peeks outside. Furthermore, nothing had stirred at the minor amount of sound made while looking through the garden tools for weapons.

The lean noblewoman's now-armed followers anxiously awaited her command.

Is that a five + 10 for Perceptive +4 for Thief and -2 for Shadowy? :p
I enjoy my direct to skill bonuses. :D
Elizabeth survived her ‘troops’ with a subtle smirk. They weren’t an army, but they were shaping up, at least now Alice could threaten anything that got a little too grabby… the reality of those threats might still be in question but in some instances, the deceiving nature of looks could be beneficial. In other instances however it put a knot in Elizabeth’s gut. The courtyard just looked too clear… between the titans they’d fought inside the manor house, and the colossi that had separated her from Robin in the street, and possibly separated Robin from his life, the nexus of the two felt like it should be overrun with sticky behemoths… but it looked empty.

Elizabeth didn’t trust it. “Be ready, the both of you.” She breathed back to the pair before moving toward the door, raising both of her knives in front of her before unlatching the shack catch and slowly edging the door open with her forward food, scanning the breadth of the courtyard as it came into view, slowly opening the door in its entirety.

That's the base roll without modifiers, though they are being accounted for. I didn't want to be too specific about whether or not Elizabeth was seeing all that she could see in this case, good sir. :p

Perception: Rolled a 13.

Karina and Alice nodded wordlessly in response to her cautionary words, taking up noticeably unpracticed battle stances. The assassin could see at least three ways apiece that she could disable them in melee without them landing a scratch on her. Their attempts were better than nothing, at least. Despite the nervous feeling overtaking her, the rogue needed to progress. It had, after all, been an entire night since she had been told to slay her cousin and since she had any contact with her father.

Elizabeth opened the door slowly. It creaked on its hinges as it swung away to reveal the courtyard. She steeled herself...only for nothing to happen. Besides the occasional uncomfortable twitch of one of the unconscious women who hadn't been abducted, the movement of birds or other minor wildlife, and the sweeping of the wind across the grass that hadn't been trampled, there was nothing. A look up revealed that the monstrosity that had delivered the grey invaders to the Necropolis was still there, hovering, as though it was some great death still working to eclipse the city. Fires burned across the city and chaos reigned. The path to the destroyed gate seemed clear, at least, although there was also the option of trying to scale the privacy walls.

Nothing was attacking the assassin for the moment, though.

Elizabeth flipped her short knife back and forth in her right hand, flicking it to point ahead before turning it back to point behind her as she took a few slow and careful steps out into the courtyard, looking from one side to the other as she surveyed the open field. “See anything girls?” She looked over her shoulder at the two girls, she still felt, paranoid…

Of course there was, for lack of a better word, an alien invasion; it wasn’t paranoia if something was actually out to get you… and things were definitely out to get her. Maybe not her specifically but, well anyone with a womb seemed to be at risk. Elizabeth gave the courtyard a second sweep, before deciding she may have actually been being suspicious for nothing, and began looking for any signs of the mystery escapee, or a working carriage, a healthy horse, or an easy way over the wall. She’d prefer to be on top of the large stone structure should something attack her, at least it’d be the high ground.

The girls shook their heads but said nothing. They were obviously as nervous about their surroundings as the heiress was. With good reason, too, the wide open courtyard didn't offer any sort of protection if they were attacked. A small gulp of nervousness issued from Alice's throat as she scanned the yard, doe-eyed, but beyond that it was silent. Karina made no noises as her chocolate eyes flitted from spot to spot, overlooking everything she could see. The lack of screams and other sounds of battle that had so widely proliferated earlier seemed too good to be true.

Whether things actually were too good to be true was yet to be discovered. Elizabeth obviously felt that the relative peace was the time to take another look around, however, and so scanned the grounds again. She could not spot any tracks, although enough grass was trampled due to the small battle that had taken place outside that it was difficult to confirm whether an escapee had been through recently. Looking around for general information, the rogue found that she could not see any horses, any that were alive, at least. Elizabeth did notice a nearby spot on the wall that she could easily scale and, with a little bit of cleverness and borrowed rope from the shed, help the other two over.

It seemed her options were to either brave the wide open space of the courtyard and whatever it might entail. Or, the assassin could scale the wall, which might briefly put her at the notice and mercy of anything watching, but at least it wouldn't require stepping over quite so many rape victims. Unless she had a better idea in mind, at least.

Elizabeth rolled her tongue against her teeth, still tittering her knife back and forth in her hand before turning her back to the courtyard, returning to the shack to retrieve a length of rope, and something to light on fire. If something was hiding in the shrubs and brush of the courtyard, lighting all of them on fire seemed like an excellent way to make sure they didn’t bother her, and besides, burning the Dreslin house down would be doing them a favor at this point, bad karma, zombies, slimy slutty women, everything else. Not to mention the catharsis it would give to watch a building burn down, maybe she’d let Karina light it up, or Alice she was a servant bound to have some bad memories.

Anything flammable would do, but for a really good blaze Elizabeth wanted to find something with oil, lamp oil, or some tinder kits, maybe some used rags. “Who wants to burn the Dreslin house down?” Elizabeth asked with an wicked smile, scanning the gardening shack for the proper accoutrements. “Come on it’ll be fun, garden’s going with it.

"But what about the survivors, Lady Elizabeth?" Karina questioned worryingly, which might have made her a less appealing choice for the person to light the flame. Alice seemed content enough at the idea of seeing the place burn, suggesting that the assassin's guess about her past wasn't far off the mark. Regardless, the heiress found some oil and other necessities to start a fire along with a coil of rope for an escape. It was a fairly big building, any flame would take quite a bit of time to see the place burned down and might attract some invaders. The saboteur had everything she needed to insure that the place would go, though, and with a bit of speed she could potentially escape before the first squid reject came to investigate. The psychic noblewoman could even be able to help with her powers, if Elizabeth could convince her that she wasn't doing the equivalent of burning down a puppy orphanage.

The courtyard was still silent after the heiress had finished in the shed, with no monsters or mutants in sight. Elizabeth seemed to have plenty of time to do whatever she decided to.

The smart survivors have already fled, the stupid ones are being reduced to toys for the creatures as we speak, consider this a good turn, releasing them from their earthly bonds, etcetera etcetera.” Elizabeth threw the coil over rope over one shoulder, before lifting a few quarts of oil into either hand. “Besides, the house is big, we light the garden on fire, it’ll take hours for the whole of the house to burn. In that time people can escape.” Elizabeth gave a cheery shrug, handing some of the oil to Alice. “Simple right?” She then presented Karina with the other oil container.

The busty noblewoman didn't seem willing to accept the oil container, waving it off. "I'm not so sure, Lady Elizabeth. I wouldn't be able to live with the thought that I had accidentally killed innocent survivors barricaded in some room or another." The woman made no move to stop the heiress, however. In contrast, Alice seemed willing to do anything to please her new mistress and was more than happy to pick up the slack in spreading the oil. If it was asked of her the maid would distribute the flammable material as directed with all haste. Similarly, the rogue herself would be able to do as she pleased with her own container of oil without much delay. A little bit of effort later and a fire would burn, if Elizabeth desired it. Karina would take watch nervously as it all occurred. All that would be left after the deed was done would be to decide on her escape plan, unless she wanted to watch the place go down in flames, anyway.

"Even if it meant killing lots of nasty squid things?..." Elizabeth jiggled the oil canister as if it were a candied treat. They were a team, relatively, and it was always a good idea to have everyone in a team agreed on an action, before burning a building down. "Things will be a lot easier with your magic. We can light the place up before any ghoulies show up to see what's happening." Elizabeth gathered a few things up, some old rags, a tinder box, something to start a fire with, and started soaking the rags in the oil before tossing them balled up into various bushes. "Plus think of all those lurch things, like the one we killed." She gestured to the head, still set back in the shack. "You don't want those things getting out into the city do you?"

"I'm not sure that they aren't already in the city, Lady Elizabeth." Karina replied, seeming a bit nervous as she continued to watch for signs of movement. Although she still refused the oil canister, the busty noblewoman seemed to be giving into peer pressure, at least to some extent. "If it means we'll get out of here faster and we're going to do it anyway, I guess I can start the fire." It did not seem like the nervous woman would consent any further than that. Alice, in the meantime, had copied her arsonist mistress and flung some rags doused with oil into the bushes. Elizabeth finished spreading the oil before her handmaiden, as the skinny maid was basically mimicking however her mistress had spread the oil, though the two did not take much time at all to dispense their bundled weapons of eventual building destruction. After a few minutes all that was left was to light the fire and go.

Regardless of how the assassin chose to start the burn, whether it was with her own tools or by having Karina fashion a flame into existence using her psychic abilities, the bushes might as well have been fashioned together out of explosives for how fast they went up. The crackling flame spread to the over-sized house swiftly, aided by how strong the flame in the greenery had been, though its progression from there was a bit more measured and would probably remain so until it hit some of the more flammable bits in the building. Still, the fire had begun, and before too long it would probably become a raging inferno, and a beacon.

If Elizabeth wanted the power of the fire to increase then she could ask Karina to do so. Otherwise, it seemed a good time to leave the Dreslin estate for the final time.

Elizabeth smirked slightly, watching the garden go up like a tinderbox it was a good feeling to watch something being burning down. But it was also time to get going, so the Silver rogue retrieved the severed head from its place in the garden shack, tied an end of the rope over her shoulder around it and did her best to throw it over the manor wall, using the giant’s head as something of an anchor for the far side. “Alright ladies, what’d you say we take our leave?” She said with something of a contented look across her face, setting her knives back into their sheathes, taking one of her last throwing knives and holding it between her teeth as she sought to scale the wall, intent to stop atop it to help her companions over, though the knife was just encase anything gooey presented itself.

Elizabeth's two tagalongs seemed happy to leave the estate, though for different reasons, and kept close to the headstrong heiress as she crept to the wall. Karina and Alice both kept watch as the lean rogue attached her trophy, its nature still unknown to the two but likely to be inquired about later, to the rope and tossed it over the wall. Unfortunately, while the man had been massive in life, his head wasn't heavy enough to act as a proper weight on the other side. The athletic noblewoman couldn't get the gruesome reminder of her prowess to catch on anything to work as an anchor, either. It seemed that even while dead, the titan wouldn't be useful to the pale woman.

Having issues with the rope wasn't enough to stop the well-trained rogue from scaling the wall if she desired to, however, as she spotted a series of handholds that she could use to climb unimpeded. Once the assassin was on the other side, she could find an anchor point in order to bring the others over. If Elizabeth chose to climb the wall using the small ledges, she would do so without issue, as it wasn't tall enough to defeat her rigorous training. Knife in her teeth, the Badarian would be in position to peek over in mere minutes. A stealthy glance over the wall would reveal nothing but open ground with a few of the ancillary buildings that made up a chunk of the noble section of the city in the far distance. No bodies, no invaders, it seemed very peaceful...and very desolate.

Even a look over to the other side didn't reveal a sturdy place for the still present rope-with-head-attached to be anchored, the rogue would probably have to keep it steady on the other side with her own strength if she wanted Karina and Alice to be able to scale the wall, a process that would leave her somewhat vulnerable. A look down at the two would reveal that the skinny maid seemed overawed by the ability of her mistress to climb the wall without use of the rope and the busty noblewoman was glancing about nervously, knuckles whitened from clutching her pitchfork, as though a horde of mutants would attack them at any moment. The two girls on the ground could still try going the other way, but they'd have to cross the scattered forms of defeated men and women, and whatever that might entail. The fire wasn't so bad or so spread that it would prevent their progress, at least. Elizabeth, herself, could drop down on the other side of the wall at her leisure, no matter what she chose for her followers to do.

Of course, the rogue had proven to be quite cunning and capable of thinking outside of the box in the past, she could try to come up with another plan.

Re: Elizabeth Silver (AshPrince) GMed by Hafnium

Elizabeth nodded down to her companions, sliding down the far side of the rope to land on the other side. She drew her Short Knife and stabbed it into the grout near the bottom of the wall, wiggling and digging it in as deep and solid she could before double looping the edge of the rope around the grip, the head; which she had decided to name Bob, still hanging at the bottom just to add that extra little weight to the far side.

The Silver rogue stood at the bottom manor wall, one hand gripping the rope as she pulled twice to try to indicate to her cohorts it was time for them to vault over as well. She looked carefully and quietly about, suddenly very aware of every sound that her trio was making. It seemed, wrong, to see such a deep and opulent part of the city so still and dead. Elizabeth made doubly sure that things truly were as still and dead as they appeared, holding one hand across the bottom of the rope, just encase Bob and her dagger weren’t enough to support her companions… if they came one at a time, the rope would have a better chance to hold, but if they came two and a time, they’d be twice as fast. Elizabeth didn’t know which she’d prefer.
