The innkeeper stood up. "Leave. I will fetch you a shirt, because if you walk out of here without one people will wonder why. Then you will tie me up, leave this village, and never come back. In a few minutes I'll get free and pass on your warning, and everyone nearby will know by sunset. Coming back would be... unwise."

I’ll take the information we’ve learned back to my master and inform him of the situation out here. Maybe then it’ll finally become more than just a mere rumor and this village can actually get the aid it needs to properly deal with these bug-monsters infesting the area,” she said, pausing briefly before continuing “...and maybe the demons as well...” she added, albeit with less conviction due to her somewhat conflicted interest with them.

There was the sound of a door slamming on the other side of the inn. A few seconds later, a man yelled curse that startled a flock of birds into flight. A pair of men in leather jerkins holding bows ran around the corner, saw the two women, and stopped. One was visibly terrified, the other raised an arm as if ready to cast a spell, but not doing so yet. "Um... run?"

The two women were nearly on the edge of the village, two streets away from the two men, and Vira was confident that once they got a little ways into the woods she would be able to lose any pursuers. Or ambush them, if they tried to follow.
