Idea 1: Post a screenshot so we know what kind of error you got. Makes giving advice much easier.

All I can give you for now is general tips.Try shortening the filepath, put the folder in the C:/. Make sure you have the eastern languages installed, it comes on your windows cd. Try switching to japanese non-unicode, or try using applocale or Ntlea when running the program.

When mine failed to boot it was due to the game directory not being in the root of the drive.

Finished it today, kept to bombs as the original post said they are the most powerful weapon, didn't really use any power ups except the occasional health when I was low which meant the only annoying thing was thinking a jump was safe only to get stunned and fall off a ledge. Also dome of those money bonuses look impossible to achieve but I ignored them as I had accrued something like 2500 by the end of the game anyway.

So what exactly does collecting all the gems do? also, I am stuck on the 3rd level from the red dragon. There's a 2-space gap and not enough room above to jump it. do I really just have to wait till the very very very last second to jump? or am I missing something?
