Some of the men are indeed giving the pair looks, though no-one approaches them just yet. "Well, I didn't exactly seek them out, they just happened to be at Titan when I came there and they were recruiting and offering good money for experienced soldiers. To be honest, I hadn't really heard of them before that, but some asking around told me that they - we - have a good reputation for mercenaries."

"Are you happy that you signed up? Being a soldier of fortune? Is this what you want out of life?" Deidre asked, genuinely interested in what would lead someone to fight to make a living rather than settling down. For Deidre, there hadn't been as much of a choice about the matter - she was a rogue asset hiding out in a mercenary outfit that she owed an obligation to. But for Willow, she could've easily done something else that wouldn't require her to risk her life.

Willow gives a smile at one of the men looking at them. "I'm a soldier, it's what I'm good at. At least this way I'll be able to retire early and I know what I'm fighting for. Money might not be a just cause, but at least I can trust that no-one's lying to me about it."

"An honest answer. I'll drink to that."

She inspected her empty cup and then looked around to see if one of the men eying her might be convinced to refill it for her if she smiled at them.

The girl's empty glasses don't go unnoticed, as they're soon joined by a pair of almost identical looking men save that one is blonde and the other brunette, the blonde carrying a tray filled with shotglasses. "Hello ladies. My friend and I noticed your empty glasses and thought you could use something stronger."

"Oh yeah? Well thanks for that," Deidre said, eying up the blonde man sitting next to her. "I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you two are related?"

She chuckled and took a shot glass filled with some strong smelling liquid into her long, slender fingers. Her eyes fixed in on the blonde's, staring at him daringly.

As the blonde puts the tray down and the men take seats, the brunette takes his chance to answer. "Cousins. I'm Mike and he's Jack."

Willow picks up one of the glasses and downs the contents. "Nice to meet you. I'm Willow."

Deidre likewise downs her shot, her eyes twinkling. "I'm Deidre. Nice to meet you two. Thanks for the drinks. So how do two cousins end up working on the same mercenary vessel together?"

Mike actually looks Deidre into the eyes as he answers. "Well, we've always gotten along, so we went to service together. Then when we were celebrating our release in a bar we ran into couple guys from the outfit and got hired before we knew what happened."

"Sounds like it was all too easy. So what do they call you guys out in the field?" She asked, referring to their call signs. After they told her, she introduced herself as Huntress, and nodded to Willow and said her Deer moniker as well.

"Did you see much combat in your time in the service?"

"I'm Falconer and Mike's knight. Don't ask where he got it unless you want a two-hour lecture about his heroics which doesn't even have anything to do with it." Jack interjects before downing a shot while Mike gives him a sharp look.

Hearing the other question Mike shakes his head. "No, not really. We were involved in one large scale attack during our time in the field but after that our unit wasn't involved in many actions."

Deidre raised her glass to them both, "Well it's nice to meet you fine, 'heroic' gentlemen. If you keep bringing me free booze, you can be my Knight in shining armor, Mike." She chuckled and put the glass down, and then eyed Willow across the way, wondering what her new buddy was thinking of these two cousins. They seemed like all right fellows at first glance.

Mike offers Deidre another shot, lighting it on fire and putting a straw in. "Try this one."

Meanwhile Jack is whispering something to Willow, who is looking at him rather critically despite her smile.

Deidre grinned and put away the fiery shot without thinking twice about it, plucking out the straw before she did so, meaning that she'd drink the flaming liquid down, snuffing the flame out inside her mouth.

"I can hold my liquor, so if your plan is to get me drunk, you may want to reconsider before I drink you under the table, soldier."

She winked at the man playfully, not minding mild flirtation. This was a game after all and she wanted to 'play.'

Mike lets out a small laugh. "As much as I like a decent drinking competition, especially with free drinks, I think I'd rather get to know you better tonight." Nevertheless, he handed Deidre another drink and gulped down his own.

"Haha. I'll bet you do," Deidre replied, taking the shot and knocking it back after him. "So what did you want to know about me? I'm an open book."

Some people seem to be leaving, mostly in small groups, and there's space in the middle of the floor. The music has changed as well, to a style favored centuries ago, creating an atmosphere that doesn't seem to fit a spaceship at all.

"Yeah, I like dancing. You asking me to dance?" Deidre grinned and tapped a finger to her lips, smiling at Michael, hoping he'd take her for a spin.

Mike gets up, offering Deidre a hand. Another couple is already dancing, and Jack and Willow join as the next song starts. Mike proves to be a fairly skilled dancer, though perhaps a little too rigid, as he wordlessly leads Deidre through multiple dances.

Deidre does her best to follow along. She knows a bit about step timing, and following the beat of the music. Deidre was fine with slower dances but preferred music that she could shake her hips to and let her long, lustrous hair fly. When the opportunity came, she would release from mike and do her own freestyle moves, which involved the raising of her arms above her head and an in time swiveling of her nicely shaped rear. She closed her eyes halfway and let herself sync up with the notes of melody she heard in the song.

Her tribe had always associated the ties of their "magic" to the music of the universe - creating discord to break things apart, harmony to bring them together, and neutral melody to alter things into a different place. It was how Deidre preferred to view magic, and she did not entirely buy into the scientific psychic phenomena that the government handlers had described it as. There was a mysticism to it that was more than just explained science, she was certain. The dance music was now sending her into a half-fugue state where she her senses could reach out further. She could sense Mike's body and mind without seeing him with her eyes or hearing his heartbeat with her ears. If she imparted her own music into the universe, she might be able to affect him, or learn more about him by listening to the natural rhythm of his thoughts. Again, the government would label it an 'empathic link' but the name didn't really matter in the end.

She decided to do that, to use the melody around her as inspiration as she listened deeply to Mike's surface thoughts as they danced together.
